I'm self-diagnosed autistic waiting on an evaluation. I've been masking all my life even though I didn't know what masking was. I always had to be what my mom and (much older) cousin wanted me to be. Even decades after mom's death I still haven't been "me".

How do you unmask when you don't know what's under the mask? I'm slowly finding out a few things about myself.

I realized that I'm non-binary. From there I realized that I was agender.

Then I realized that I'm otherkin. From there I realized that I was gendercryptic. I'm an eldritch dark entity from the Void. I'm a cryptid.

This would explain a little of my body dysmorphia. Plus I just hate my body in general.

I'm trying to embrace my "inner me". I've ordered a beautiful headpiece that's supposed to arrive on the 20th.

This is a start. As I think I've said before, I want to wear this headpiece with my long white dress and black boots.

I know I'm still masking about my spiritual path. I definitely can't talk about it around certain people else I'll get preached at.

I'm tired of feeling like I have to hide who I am.

Let’s see... I think there are a couple of options!

Gendercryptic/Cryptogender: A gender one cannot discern, describe or define in human words because one is puzzled by it. It feels like it is and it isn’t there without following any particular pattern, sometimes even at the same time.

Schrodigender: A gender which you can both feel and not feel, or a single gender that exists as if it were many genders at once.

Do you have any genders/terms that are related to heavy disassociation? like one that changes based on chronic disassociation? i wrote down a definition a while back! "A gender or term that relates to snapping between a nullness to a large desire/comfort in gender over short periods of time caused by chronic disassociation." it isn't fluid and is more snappy? tysm!!

Was that gender that you wrote down one you found and can't find again, or one you thought of? Because if you want, I could come up with a name and flag if there isn't one. Here's some terms that I found that could apply:

Fljotagender: A gender relating to the feeling of floating on top of a large body of water. There is a vastness beneath you, but you only care to meld with the surface until you are one with the water around you. Can be associated with water xenogenders and the feeling of dissociation, but not exclusive to those with dissociative disorders.

Staticgender: A gender which can best be described as TV static; fuzzy and incomprehensible.

Scorpigender: A gender that is a mystery, and very difficult to understand. Lots of labels vaguely fit it, but almost none can fully describe it.

Gendercryptic, or Cryptogender: A gender one cannot discern, describe or define in human words because one is puzzled by it. It feels like it is and it isn’t there without following any particular pattern, sometimes even at the same time.

Arigender or Ariesgender: A complicated gender identity that you cannot explain or is very hard to explain. A gender that does not fit under any labels. An unfathomable gender.

Cheshiric: A term used when your gender is confusing and can easily go invisible and appear out of nowhere. One can also say their gender is like a sort of vague riddle.

(I also feel like it might be worth it to look into some genders in the kenochoric umbrella, since the aesthetics of many kenochoric genders remind me of similar concepts to dissociation.)
