early morning gender/identity thoughts while watching doom patrol (i had no idea they did another season and i'm so glad the writing so far isn't like season 3's):

oh... i think i have gender envy for Larry. oh no. is it my nonbinary ass? is it Matthew Zuk's portrayal in the bandages and how he holds himself physically? how he makes Larry hold himself close/small, which makes his narrow-tall-lanky-ness stand out more? is it how that juxtaposes against all the masculine ideals/themes/visuals/everything surrounding the character's history/experience? is it how much i ADORE this presentation of masculinity? is it just that goddamn fabulous coat that looks SO GOOD?

am i that departed from any idea of woman-ness that i'm always connecting with so many men characters and don't have that level of 'i want that. that's how i feel.' with like any women characters? to the same degree? ever?!?

oh wait no it's fine. Laura and Rita just interacted, turns out I still relate to woman-ness, false alarm folks.
