Journal Entry #56: Redacted Witness Statement
[🔮Occult Legacy Challenge - Generation 1 Diaries🔮]
As I approached my home at Slip 42, I saw that I had received some mail.
The conspiracy theorist had delivered on her promise to bring me more evidence from her private collection. I opened the envelope and enclosed was a witness statement from the night of Bella Goth's disappearance. Unfortunately, a lot of the vital information was redacted.
Inside the envelope with the evidence was a note. Scribbled in a cryptic message, the note told me to speak with the old woman living in the mansion next to Pleasantview Park. I did not hesitate and went straight there.
The house had a distinct old-world charm, with a steeply pitched roof, large windows, and decorative trim. The garden outside the home was well-kept but I feared the owner of the home might not be the most welcoming host. As I knocked on the door, there was silence. I knocked again. This time the door opened of its own accord.
I cautiously entered. It was cold outside, so I went to the fireplace to warm up. At first, I was unsure if the old woman was home. But then I heard a voice from the study call out to me.

Journal Entry #53: Punishing Work Tasks
[🔮Occult Legacy Challenge - Generation 1 Diaries🔮]
I drank my coffee and had my morning check-in with Dr Beaker. He and I haven't had any issues with each other, until recently. As we discussed Mortimer's funeral and how much of a loss it was for our Lab, he asked about Nebulon.
HE is the precise reason why I didn't bring my son to the funeral. He keeps pushing me to bring Neb to the lab in order to progress my research. I refuse to do so. That is why he has me doing grunt work.
I spent all day digging for metal. It's harsh to be outside in this desert for long; the fumes in the air from the rocket fuel combined with the heat can make you very lightheaded. It was exhausting work and an obvious punishment for not following Loki's requests to bring Nebulon to him.
Dig. Dig. Dig. I didn't care. Knowing Neb was safe was more important. I'd rather be out in this desert forever than let an evil sim like Dr Loki get their hands on Nebulon.
Coming home and hearing Neb's laughter makes whatever work punishment Loki assigns all worth it. He was developing so quickly. We have every motor milestone complete for a toddler. Neb has also learned to talk and can now have conversations with me. Hearing how he feels and thinks about things never ceases to amaze me.
