Gecko Fact of the Day ✨️

Most geckos don't have eyelids! Instead, we have tiny protective scales that need to be licked off occasionally.

Also! While most geckos are nocturnal, all geckos have vertical pupils that can overlap to a tiny slit, letting in only a pinprick of light.

This protects their eyes from harsh lights, even though they can't close their eyes!

Beautiful art of these beautiful bois! They are found only in Madagascar, and are one of the smallest types of leaf-tailed geckos you can find! They can lose their tails when scared like many of us, but cannot regrow them. And despite the name, they are all very good friends!

Satanic! Leaf! Tailed! Gecko! They come in a bunch of different colors and their leaf-shaped tail is adapted to help camouflage them amongst dry leaves.

Weird question so feel free to ignore, but in your different species AU can gecko!Donnie lose and regrow his tail like real geckos?

I think a lot about the fact that he dropped his tail during the fight with Shredder at the end of the first season

don't worry, the tail will grow back!

...but it's much worse than the first one, which will make Donnie hate it. inactive and inappropriate in color. over time the tone will even out, but it'll take him a long time to get used to it (this idea is still raw, so perhaps there will be an update in the future)

Random fact abt the fo4 va's: both Peter jessop's (danse) and Keythe Farley's (Kellogg) kids played fallout 4, Keythe's kid would come back from school and tell his dad "my friends killed you in the game and it was so bloody and violent!!!" Frequently after the game was released and Peter would walk up behind his kids while they played fallout 4 and say random paladin danse dialogues in their ears to scare them

modern au crack-ish yandere idea. dragons being the king of all lizards, imagine zhongli being able to control all the 'lesser' lizards to some extent, maybe even share senses with them.

and what better way for him to watch you, his dearest darling, than connecting with the common house geckos that's roaming around your house?

they're harmless, agile, and inconspicuous enough to do some basic monitoring. don't pay attention to the strange amber-eyed tiny animal perched on your bedroom walls, dear. don't delude yourself into thinking that its eyes seemed to shine in the darkness of your room while you teeter between dream and reality deep into the night. don't worry about how it seemed to chirp angrily whenever your friends come over, as if it's warning them from entering its territory.

There's nothing hellish about the satanic leaf-tailed gecko! Named for its menacing appearance, with prominent devilish horns and bright red eyes, this species has actually evolved to perfectly camouflage with its environment! Their bodies are colored and shaped to blend in with dead and dying leaves, thus hiding from much scarier predators.

The dwarf gecko isn't called 'dwarf' for nothing! As the world's smallest reptile, it weighs only 0.13 g (0.0045 oz) and reaches only 14–18 mm (0.55–0.71 in) in length from tip to tail. Even more impressive, that size also makes it the world's smallest amniote-- that is, an animal that develops within an amniotic sac.
