With a little bit of discussion, they all agreed: it was more practical and more pragmatic to show off their relationship as it truly was than to keep it secret. If they wanted peace and privacy, then there couldn’t be any room for speculation and besides. It was quite exciting getting a glimpse of inside Ace’s head and how he came up with his schemes.

However, that did come with the shake-up that since Ace’s pawns partners knew what was going on, they had the ability to derail it but he trusted that none of them would put a foot wrong. Neon, especially, used to walking in high heels and bless them but Keiwa and Michinaga did clean up very nicely. Even if it did seem wrong somehow to see them in tuxedos.

The where, when, and how of the scheme was too easy. Ace was still appearing in movies playing his usual, handsome self more so than an actual fictional character. The others, meanwhile, were finding it a bit hard to find jobs given the clamour around them. For better or for worse, if they were used to it or not.

There was a small hope in Ace’s heart that this would be a hard reset. Not so hard like the remodellings of the world after the events of a successful Desire Grand Prix royale but akin. There’d be a fresh start with the records set straight and it would all be as easy as getting out of a limousine. One by one, slowly easing the wider public into knowing how much they wanted them to know.

And so, another movie premier night with beautiful dresses and handsome tuxedos, with more stars on the ground than in the sky came around on the calendar. The sky was black above the red carpet and to every side, the silver flash of a camera going off as some people did their jobs and others got to be fans.

At the height of the red carpet, after a drive from Ace’s apartment to the movie theatre, the limousine pulled up and it was go-time. No reruns this time.

Ace, of course, exited the limousine first. He smiled for the cameras, was utterly unfazed as the paparazzi and the news reporters dazzled him. The red carpet underfoot rolled on for what seemed like forever up unto the premier theatre’s doors.

After this moment of repose, so all the good angles could be shot, Ace turned around and he offered his hand to Neon.

It made sense that Neon would be the first to exit the limousine after Ace. Either Keiwa or Michinaga next would have been too shocking. Especially since the public consciousness, whilst having a lot of conflicting memories due to all the remodellings the world had gone, to did and did not recall Ace and Neon becoming friendly with one another as celebrity spheres colliding. So there was a little bit of shipping going on, a few ears pricked up and eyes were certainly going wide as Ace unveiled Neon.

She was wearing a darling, yellow cocktail dress paired with white kitten heels because she couldn’t resist a cat motif. She was giggly and smiley and giddy for the cameras. It was good to see her adored by the general public. The modern day human was not quite so ready for the designer humans of the future but with Keiwa’s wish granted and the GPG gone bust, they had become the norm. Thus allowing Neon to return to her rightful place as Japan’s sweetheart streamer.

Ace leaned in and Neon looked up at him with her big brown eyes, fluttering her eyelashes. She smiled and so did Ace as he pecked the middle of her forehead. She blushed just slightly, though there was a semblance to a cringe as all the crowd went wild.

Neon lavished in praise but it was really only genuine praise or affection that she so craved. Regardless, she was quite pampered to be Ace’s one and only girlfriend. However, she was not his one and only partner, more than happy to share with their other dearest ones. Though her wish was not granted, it had come true. Neon was now a girl with more genuine love than she knew what to do with sometimes and she wanted to give the world just a small peek at that. She waited, shifting her weight from one foot to the other before Ace gave her a signal for her to stand down.

As the fanfare faded, it was expected that Ace and Neon would walk up the red carpet together and that their valet would mosey on so the next celebrity - or celebrity couple - could arrive but not quite. Ace nodded ever so slightly and that movement caught Neon’s eyes and so, she politely stood aside. All whilst holding nervously onto her clutch as Ace moved around her so he could approach the limousine for a second time.

Ace put out his hand and the paparazzi was momentarily confused when another hand popped out to clasp firmly onto Ace’s. Keiwa’s hand was shaking in a lead inside of Ace’s but Ace was steady. Strong. And pulled Keiwa onto his feet.

Though that was all but immediately clumsy. He stumbled onto the red carpet - thank goodness he wasn’t wearing kitten heels or that would have been a face-plant for sure - and gawked at the cameras gawking for him. He was the hero of the world. The saviour who had brought world peace and the dead back to life and all the memories that came with it.

But he was still a boy from a soba shop. This whole world of fame and stardom was very much not his speed.

“Your tie is crooked.” Ace pointed out, his voice a whisper. “Here, I’ll fix it.”

“Th-Thank you.” Keiwa croaked.

Ace smiled his trademark fox smile. It was sweet, it was enigmatic, and he was very nimble as he straightened Keiwa’s forest green tie.

“There you go.” Ace said and for additional effect, brushed imaginary fluff and dust off the shoulders of Keiwa’s suit. Even though it was tailor made for him, tailor made was not made for Keiwa. He still looked good in it, if Ace did say so himself.

“Appreciated.” Keiwa replied, a rose in either cheek and just to make sure Keiwa knew how cute he looked with a bit of colour, Ace pressed a kiss on either side of his face.

“Aah, stop it, you only kissed Neon’s forehead.” Keiwa complained.

“I need it to be crystal clear.” Ace whispered as he leaned out and began to take stock of the reactions.

Where Keiwa saw perhaps too much in too big an image, Ace saw all the nuance and micro-expressions. The tiny things that added up much more importantly.

“Aww, I want to kiss Keiwa too. He has no skincare routine yet his face is baby soft.” Neon complained.

“Do as you please.” Ace said.

“Yay.” Neon chirped.

“Don’t I get a say?” Keiwa piped up.

“Nope.” Neon teased as she tacked herself onto his side, trying to pull him down for a kiss.

The playful antics perfect for the press and the ensuing photographs, Ace was sure. He might even have to buy any particularly flattering ones for himself, that sounded both endearing and amusing, he decided. In the meantime, he continued to scan the photographers and he was coming to a conclusion that he wasn’t fully expecting.

They were perfectly alright with it. Sure, not the perfect, model couple they were expecting but the star of the star of the star, the hero who granted the world its world peace, and the fabricated girl who streamed her daily life seemed a good match, right?

And that was it, right? No more surprises from the world’s favourite Kamen Riders, right?

That seemed to be the press was asking amongst themselves but there was a sense of hesitancy. As though they knew these sorts of things didn’t come in threes. An intuition made good on when, after this moment of lovers bantering, Keiwa then took a step back and more properly joined Neon to the side. Neon was quite cuddly and bubbly with Keiwa who didn’t mind one bit. Her relaxed nature helped calm his own red carpet nerves as he smiled and turned his head expectantly. All for Ace to quietly to beckon forth the… fourth person in the limousine.

Michinaga glared from inside the plush interior of the limousine. He’d been sitting on the far side and had a half-melted bucket of ice and champagne at his feet. Ace prompted him with one last unfurling of his elegant hand to offer but Michinaga didn’t take it.

It would have been nice if Michinaga had played along with this little increment of Ace’s plan but no matter. That was, if anything, to be expected of the bull.

He emerged from inside the limousine and the crowd went silent. Keiwa, hero of the world and all-round nice-natured boy, was a very tough act for Michinaga to follow. Ace was stony-faced as he observed their surroundings.

Meanwhile, Michinaga was once again giving his best bad boy impression as he stomped about in his Beroba borrowed Doc Martens because why give up a good thing from a bad place? He stomped up to Neon and Keiwa who were waiting at the wings for him. Neon gave him her best, shiniest smile and Keiwa gave him the thumbs up.

“Looking good.” Keiwa commented.

“Thanks.” Michinaga mumbled.

Neon, meanwhile, like Ace, was attuned to what was going on around them. All of a sudden, there was a shift in atmosphere. She knew that neither she nor the other two had to say a word. Ace said he had the perfect plan to smoothen over Michinaga’s image. They didn’t need to know he was secretly a precious bed hog schnookums behind the scenes. Though he would deny it, covered in all their doona as he may be but they did need to know that he was important to them. Had been before but especially now that peace had been accomplished for all and he was a part of that all.

With this sudden breath sucked out of the bodies of the press, Ace took that as his cue whilst his partners remained firm. This was always the most delicate aspect of his plan and their private operations.

Without even needing to check for charisma and journalism, Ace had already picked a camera and reporter to talk at, not to, there was a difference, in advance and smiled for the recording. He had it all figured out, to the last period.

“You may be surprised to see Buffa - ah, er, Michinaga but he is quite a different man without his horns. It appears the lone buffalo has found his herd. We were always rivals, yes, we were even rivals with both Keiwa and Neon but we were a team. It feels good to have our partnership not only restored but renewed.” Ace said.

He was very pleased with that statement that he had penned up in advance. He could already imagine a select sentence or two given premier font and space within the celebrity gossip article to follow in this recording crew’s magazine. He smiled and he rejoined his awaiting partners.

(Though, if he was the star of star of stars, then it was likely thematically appropriate to call them his co-stars, too.)

Neon, with a grin, positioned herself between Ace and Keiwa, she linked arms with them both and leaned around, flirtatious, to tease Michinaga. Michinaga, grunted, nostrils flared for half a second, but relented. Fine. If he had to hold hands with Ace, so be it.

Now that was not in Ace’s plan. He was quite fine with showing the arrangement of they, the final four Kamen Riders ever with surviving ID cores, as it were but this was a nice surprise. Michinaga could be capable of them once a blue moon, it seemed, though he likely was not going to be making breakfast in bed for any of them any time soon but still.

As a quartet, they all took a step down the red carpet and their valet drove off. The cavalcade of silver, flashing lights looked like stars in the darkness as they were the centre of it. Of the world, of the attention. It felt good. There was a weight off, almost, especially with it done on their own terms.

And then, all four of them walked down the aisle.

Well, the red carpet but the aisle could very well be next for them, or so Ace would like to plan ahead.

*except i make questionable choices, and give each of them at least one of my own decks✨

Because i can never decide, I'm going to pick three decks for everyone, (excluding anime decks, since they're often closely connected to or even modelled after their canon players) and then proceed to defend my choices.

Under a read more because it ended up kinda long oops

Ace 🦊

Before you say 'the deck that's most meta at the time' consider: that's no fun. As the mc he has the talent to make even subpar decks work. Apart from these, i considered Magical Musketeer as well.

Very obvious, i know. Mayakashi is a deck based on yokai from Japanese folklore, who during the day don human disguises and deceive humans. In-game, they are a zombie archetype using the graveyard a lot, as their playmaker can repeatedly revive herself.

Mannadium/Visas Starfrost. This deck is part of a series i'll call '🌟visas lore🌟' decks. Lore-wise, Mannadium is about joy, reincarnation and unity while game-wise it works by destroying its own monsters to summon its boss. Visas Starfrost himself has composite forms not unlike a certain fox god.

...Listen... hear me out... So, Megalith is a ritual archetype, most of whose members are statues from which warriors emerge. Its monsters tribute themselves to summon the deck's bosses without needing ritual spell cards. Yeah, i have no excuse 😌

Now for the highlight a sneak peek. It has barely been out for a week in the OCG but from early info on the (unofficial names) Artmegia/Imprisoned Deity archetypes, well. Early lore details speak of an academy-nation drawing its magic power from an 'imprisoned deity'. Imprisoned deities are beings who live in a world outside of ours.

Below are two of the new cards, unofficially translated as "Artmegia the Academy City of Divine Arts" and "Nerva the Imprisoned Deity of Creation."

Keiwa 🦝

While there is a tanuki deck, it is very closely associated with the anime character using it. Outside of that, i thought of Rescue-Ace as well.

Another zombie arthetype, Shiranui are enemies with the Mayakashi in the lore, using a possessed blade to hunt them. After a fateful meeting between a Mayakashi and the heir to the Shiranui style, the two end up fighting each other. Fittingly, the deck's gameplay involves banishing zombies.

(🌟visas lore🌟) Tearlaments is a strong deck involving cards being sent to the graveyard for card advantage and to summon boss monsters. Behind the scenes, it is an archetype of sadness in whose lore people get brainwashed with grief. I rest my case.

I can see Keiwa playing the old Ninja cards as a child, but the modern Ninja archetype has been interesting to see. The aim of this deck is to not allow the opponent to build a board, or break their board, by flipping their monsters face-down, and the ninja members themselves often have flip effects (a little surprise, if you will).

Neon 🐱

Aside from these, the stray cats from zexal and the lunalights from arc-v would fit her theme.

Purrely is a good deck that uses spells cards and small cat-adjacent monsters to summon bigger and badder ones, but most importantly, the cards and their lore are full of fluff and cuteness! Very Neon TV brand archetype.

(🌟visas lore🌟) The opposite of cute, Scareclaw represents the emotion of fear, and has a lore in which the monsters are forced to fight so they can evolve. In-game, it works by utilising the defense position to strengthen itself and weaken the opponent. This gave me trouble but i think it makes sense with the way Neon got into the game and contrasts with her usual cute aesthetic.

Solfachord is a pendulum deck, if reportedly on the easier side to play, whose members are fairy-type monsters using magic playing music that purifies the worlds under their sky kingdom. Very pretty deck with music associations!

Michinaga 🐮

Is he a bull or a buffalo, this is important for my choices. Zombie pile/Zombie World control would also be cool.

Ragnaraika is a plant/insect/reptile deck that works by continuously getting more material to summon stronger monsters. Its nature means it can often be mixed with other archetypes, depending on which part of it you want to focus on. The visuals can be very jyamato Buffa at times...

(🌟visas lore🌟) If you know you know. Kashtira is a strong deck that wants to banish every single one of your opponent's cards. In the lore, it represents the emotion of anger. A straightforward deck to match Michinaga's straightforward approach.

Memento is a deck with fossil theming, as it brings back various old monsters, gives them new powers and unifies them in one archetype under the king of the underworld. Its gimmick is destroying its own monsters to activate various effects with the goal of bringing out its bosses. Regretfully, they are not zombies but i think it still works.

Tsumuri ♟️

If she plays regular cards i have faith they could peer pressure her into playing yugioh.

F.A. (Formula Athlete) is a racing deck of machine-type monsters, and includes many grand prix-related cards. The deck loves controlling its own levels to summon its bosses, and its playmaker (and only in-archetype tuner) is a navigator.

Icejade is a mostly defensive deck that aims to prevent the opponent's monsters from doing anything at all. In the lore, they are feminine humanoids made of a crystalline substance, all created by their queen. When icejades reach the end of their life, they are forged into swords (part of a greater lore). I feel like Tsumuri would like it, or am I just biased... 😅

Maliss, a very recently released Cyberse (digital beings, in the lore) archetype whose members are pawns and queens (in chess, pawns can become queens), based on the white and red queens of Lewis Carroll's works and computer malware. The deck loves banishing cards from both sides of the field. Honestly this artwork sold me even though i as always have ✨reservations✨ about the outfits.

Keiwa x Neon Headcanons

Finally buckling down and getting to work on these, Christ that took over a month. But let’s gooo~!

Warnings: Not really spoilers? Just here to vibe y’all.

PLEASE NOTE: I RARELY TAKE CHARACTER X CHARACTER SHIPS AS THIS BLOG IS CENTERED AROUND SELF-SHIPPING/READER INSERT STUFF. IT DOESN’T MEAN I WON’T DO EM, IT’LL BE ONCE IN A BLUE MOON

Truth be told, out of the two of them, Keiwa isn’t truly much for nicknames. Neon on the other hand, definitely is~! She adores calling Keiwa “my knight” or “my prince” and teasing him whenever he blushes! She pokes his cheek whenever he is red in the face and kisses his cheeks mulling over how cute he is! One day, Keiwa got enough confidence to call Neon, “my kitten” and she basically bluescreened for a solid 3 minutes before suddenly slamming their lips together. Thus, their phone IDs are “My Tanukishi~<3″ and “Neon-chan 😻”

Neon is often invited over to have dinner with Sara. The said elder sister has essentially already begun to consider Neon as her sister-in-law, teasing the two on when they’re going to get married but honestly, she’s patient with them. Keiwa adores cooking for Neon and in turn, Neon helps to do the dishes - but really, simple acts of cooking and cleaning are team efforts between the two. They hum and sing to some sort of music as they do their chores! And kisses as rewards. All of em.

Actually, Neon does want a family in the end and Keiwa wouldn’t mind if they started one. They both know that it’s still too early to tell but if they did settle down together, they would at least want at least two children; most likely through adoption. Neon won’t mind popping out a baby, but Keiwa is very much looking to adopt and she wants to help foster kids as well. She’s an only child and knows how lonely it can get vs Keiwa who does want to give kids who don’t have a home...a home! Neon is all for this and they began to adopt animals together to start off. They will most likely adopt siblings or friends that do not want to be separated because...well...it’s terrible to do so.

Keiwa and Neon often look over each other’s shoulder to protect one another. Sure he looks out for her on the normal day, but it’s different as DGP contestants. They’re always looking out for each other, tossing each other’s weapons to one another and have this unspoken rule that if one of them is eliminated...the other will look for them. They refuse to let each other turn into Jyamatos or whatever the hell Beroba has in store for them. They would rather be revived again and find one another...if possible. They would also let each other touch the ID cores.

One of their favorite things to do together is actually doing something lazy like online shopping while snuggling up on a couch. Neon adores shopping and Keiwa is simply happy to be with her. Sometimes they get distracted and go down Wikipedia page upon Google page of rabbit holes, finding out random things and trivia that makes them laugh and giggle and debate over silly mundane topics. But in the end of the day, they’re together and that’s what matters to both of them.
