Live action casting

I know that many other fans, as well as myself, find one of the charms of red dead redemption two to be the realistic and diverse display of body types and just appearences that are shown, and if a show was to come with red dead I fear that might be dropped.

Red dead shows bodies that could very well be realistic for 1899 outlaws. Characters like Charles and Arthur have natural muscle mass from working camp chores and jobs, yet also a bit of stomach coming from the beers they enjoy at night. Characters like Kieran and Sean are lean and a bit bony. Hosea has a bit of white hair and John's is greasy. None of the characters have been unesessarily sexualized, even the women, and you have a wide display of realistic bodies shown without it being a deal for their personality.

Sadly a lot of the same cannot be said for the movie business. Actors are casted not just for skill but also appearence, trying to find someone that will look appealing on screen. The average character is meant to look attractive with perfect hair, a seven day workout six pack and zero fat, the only time we see characters have other characteristics than that is when it is half their personality. The "funny fat friend" or "the sarcastic bony dude."

One of the reasons I often dislike 99% of the fan casts I see is because the actors, by no fault of themselves, have been shaped and formed by the industry to look flawless without a single hair out of place which would remove a massive factor of why so many love red dead.

To be honest I also think it would be bad with especially red dead because this fandom is so bad at sexualising characters, and it isn't just those dude bros making AI deep fake vids of Karen or Sadie, but also a lot of people standing on the very fine line of fun jokes and "this is actually concerning" with Arthur, Dutch and Javier.

Charles's yellow teeth from the epilouge, John's raw scaring, Sean's missing teeth and characters being allowed not to be muscular without it being half their personality is something I doubt we would be allowed to see on the screen. Like, I don't want the dude who played superman, A LITERAL OVERHUMAN BEING, to play Arthur, I want the local lumberjack who hurls wood for seven hours of the day and then goes home to lay on couch with the family while eating BBQ and drinking beer.

I just hope they will allow the characters to have their "flaws," not every character need to fit in societal beauty standards and conventional attractiveness. Let them be dirty, muddy, geasy and disgusting, exactly as we know and love them.
