ep 38-42 of fma 03 has very obvious budget and time issues to the point of silliness at times and yet it might be one of the strongest and thematically focused span of anime episodes ive seen since fucking utena

#it's just baffling how good it is. despite the silly impact frames #i felt every possible emotion in this span of five episodes #and ending it with scar's sacrifice and him destroying an imperialist army of thousands with TRIUMPHANT music!#he is validated by the narrative beginning to end! he is what fma 03 hinges on in its entirety!#also when ed met sloth and wrath i think my brain briefly became static i grew WINGS #eli talks #fma 2003 #gd i never want to hear anything about brotherhood or the manga for the rest of my life #fma 03 you ARE the moment you ARE the show
