It’s on tomorrow, Gawler’s repair cafe at the council building on High Street. It’s all about the, often forgotten ‘r’, repair. It kind of fits into the whole refuse, reuse, recycle mindset. There’ll be a few of us there trying out best to get you up and running again, whatever your problem. If we’re lucky, we can teach you how to repair your item so that you are more empowered in the future. I’ll be there with a collection of appropriate hammers. I reckon between us all we can fix anything but the American political system. New supplies delivered this morning. Our bums will be dry during the impending lockdown. Seriously though, we don't hoard stuff like this, we just do a bulk purchase several times a year and this is one of those times. We like @whogivesacraptp style and content, especially loving their use of bamboo, afterall, trees are for shade, shelter and food not spill mopping and bum wiping. I do wonder about the need to wrap each roll individually though? Sure the wrapping is recycled paper wrapping but it's one step that could be removed from the process. Yesterday's Food Underfoot foraging events went like a rocket - a space rocket, that is, not the vegetable kind! It was the youngest crowd to have attended yet, which was really great. The young folks were from the local Scout troop and Emma came all the way from Pt. Adelaide. Normally, I run the event myself but this year teamed up with @gawlerenvironmentcentre and from there, to the Natute Festival. As part of the @naturefestivalsa, Food Underfoot has been incorporated a wider mesh of events focused on Nature and sustainability. There's one more session on the 3rd of October but that ones sold out too. If the weather holds out, i might squeeze in a 3rd this year and promote it through the local team at @agriadventures.
