     It wasn’t often that Gavin got to leave work early. In fact, the opposite happened to be the norm more than anything. So having him all to herself for a few hours more left her absolutely giddy. They shared a nice meal, watched a couple of episodes of a silly tv series they happened to come across and then turned in a little early.

With the lights off and the windows opened, they enjoyed the cool evening in silence, not feeling the need to go to sleep just yet and simply basking in the closeness. Resting her head to his chest, Alice could feel herself eventually drifting off to the rhythm sound of his heart, but his voice had her alert again.

“My grandpa’s farm in England.” The answer came easy to her. She’d shown him pictures and told him many stories of the place and the people that had raised her. Because Gavin was so busy in a line of work that made it difficult for him to leave the country for more than a day or two - and even then he could still be called back regardless - she’d refrained from openly expressing her desire to take him there. But there was no other option for that question. She would very much like to bring her favorite person to her favorite place.

octopuses are quite messy eaters, so when they eat whatever they have, a lot of scraps of it float around in the water around them, which attracts fish. octopuses are quite annoyed by them crowding around, and punch them to get them away.

fishes will also crowd around an octopus before it even starts eating because they know they can get some food remnants from them.

but also, sometimes octopuses just punch them just because. like no reason

fish often crowd around octopuses while they’re eating in hopes of catching leftover pieces that are dropped (octopuses are kind of messy eaters.)

this annoys octopuses so they just slap the fish away. Either that or the fish are being assholes. maybe both

I don't know what higher level of consciousness octopi are on but I'm terrified to imagine it

the reason SpongeBob and Patrick can’t swim is because sponges are sessile, meaning they attach to a surface and don’t move from there, and starfishes can’t swim, they can only crawl

also i think squidward might be so bad at playing the clarinet is because actual octopuses have extremely bad hearing, so he literally just does not hear how bad he is

i would guess that octopuses have the same texture as like very firm jello but squidward has a very strong head, since throughout the show so much heavy shit falls on his head but it takes quite a lot for him to actually loose consciousness so idk I think it would take quite a lot of rocks

btw this is a genuine question how many rocks do you think youd have to throw at squidwards head before he falls unconscious? i guess the easy answer would be one bc hes kinda old but also he has a large bulbous head so i wonder if one rock would affect him at all? i feel like theyd all bounce back off of his head, i think octopi look like stuff would just ricochet on their heads if said stuff was thrown hard enough. i dont really know what texture octopussies are honestly i wanna squeeze an octopus bc they look squishy as fuck but then maybe id hurt them so i prbly shouldnt. can octopus experts or just any experts out there tell me if octopi are squishy and craft a hypothesis on how many rocks one could throw at squidwards head before he falls unconscious. what do you guys think
