Gateball — ゲートボール (門球)

Gateball is a sport inspired by croquet. It can be played by anyone, although in Japan it is very popular among older adults. It is usually written ゲートボール , although there is a kanji for it and it is written like this:門球.

Almost in every clearing or playing field, and depending on the place, from 8 in the morning you can find older people in the area playing this sport. Some start around 10 in the morning, but they always do it in the first part of the day. They take breaks between games and when they finish they go back home to eat lunch.

Lesson Learn

Saat perceraian menimpa kamu, satu diantara beberapa orang menganggap itu seperti putus dengan pacar, percayalah itu lebih besar lagi dari pada putus pacar, kamu tak perlu ke pengadilan agar kamu bisa berpisah, kamu tidak perlu bayar pengacara karena mantan kamu tak terima kamu putuskan, dan bnyak hal kompleks lain yang perlu diproses

Hal ini baru aku pikirkan seharian ini

Aku bersyukur berada disituasi perpidahan yang sedari awal aku tau dan rasakan, belum sempat aku menunggu sampai beranak pinak dan bertahun-tahun menjalani kesabaran dalam jahanam

Aku bersyukur banyak orang yang menyadarkan , entah itu teman online , orang asing yang pernah mengalami hal serupa, ibu-ibu gateball, dan banyak lagi yang mendukung akan keputusan ini

Aku tersadar akan prosesnya yang menyakitkan, terlebih bercerai. Pelaku pernah melewati ikatan badan melalui persetubuhan, dia berada didalam badan kamu, tak ada jarak, saling bertukar keringat dan cairan lain yang keluar dari diri manusia / badan kamu,

Yang menjadi masalah adalah kamu sendiri yang memblok proses itu dengan denial dan menyalahkan diri sendiri seperti itu tak normal

Layaknya bayi, mereka wajib.. harus melewati fase-fase pertumbuhan agar di akhir gak ada kecacatan fisik maupun mental, yang jika terlewati malah akan jadi masalah tersendiri bagi si bayi ketika menginjak usia tahunan

Begitupun kesedihan akibat perpisahan khususnya percerian..

Aku melihat banyak wanita yang mengalami sama seperti aku, hanya minusnya di aku belum punya anak, jadi kabur secepatnya tak ada halangan lagi buat aku,

Fase setelah cerai bahkan sudah aku rasakan sebelum sidang,

Saat aku mengalami fase ini , memang terasa sangat berat,

Awalnya aku menyangka ini melegakan karena aku sudah terbebas dari manusia berjiwa benalu dan NPD , dan ini aku rasakan selama sebulan

Setelah itu aku merasa semangat menjalani kehidupan seperti biasa, tak ada masalah apapun yang aku rasakan, aku belajar mengenali diri sendiri dan berusaha menemukan potongan-potonga jati diri kemarin yang tersisa dari masa lalu

Selanjutnya fase yang tak menyenangkan dimulai. Aku mulai menyalahkan dia, aku menyalahkan diri sendiri, terus bertanya kenapa dia melakukan ini padaku, kenapa aku yang jadi korban, kenapa harus aku ? Dan semua jawaban yang aku punya adalah bentuk denial and accuse yang aku buat sendiri dengan tujuan untuk meyakinkan diri sendiri

Setelah itu fase makin dalam lagi makin terpuruk. Sedih itu seperti koin pada celengan, tabungan sejak jaman pacaran, sejak sebelum menikah hingga saat menikah, bonus setelah pisah rumah. Semakin ditumpuk, saat kantong celengan sudah tak muat ia membludak, kesedihan yang ditumpuk selama 1 tahun, berakhir berceceran tak terbendung selama hampir 2 minggu. Nangis tiap malam, sedih saat siang, melamun apa yang nanti akan terjadi, terbangun dari mimpi, trauma dengar bunyi motor, trauma dengan suara teriak dan suara benda yang di lempar-lempar , trauma mendengar orang berantem.

Seminggu penuh aku gak mau beberes, aku gak tau mau ngapain, yang aku kerjakan berakhir berantakan, aku numpukin cucian, numpukin setrikaan, dan menyalahkan kalau aku pemalas, gak rajin, gak sat-set, menunda-nunda, gak semangat, lemes dan cape terus, malas mandi, gak nafsu makan, yang lebih sering aku lakukan adalah rebahan dan main hp. Awalnya aku pikir apakah ini yang aku maksud rio lakukan saat masih nikah, kenapa aku jadi copycat gini, dan percayalah.. ternyata itu adalah salah satu bentuk trauma. Banyak yang bilang sesakit apapun kamu jangan balik lagi sama dia.

Sekarang aku lagi nata lagi mood, nata kebiasaan, nata hal apa saja yang perlu aku ubah dan perbaiki, karena sejauh ini fase sedih mendalam sangat berdampak, selain mental, juga pekerjaan yang serba tertunda. Dan itu sangat nyata, gak mungkin baju bisa ngelipet sendiri, gak mungkin tanaman rapih sendiri, tentu perlu aku yang menatanya lagi.

Ibaratnya aku sedang terdampar di lautan, tugasku hanya bertahan ditengah karangnya, aku pasti rasakan sakitnya diterpa ombak aku tau rasanya disapu badai, tapi aku harus tetap berpegang pada karang yang saat ini tubuh bersandar, setelah itu lanjutkan kembali berenang hingga mencapai pantainya. Nelayan jarang ditemukan diberita hanyut terbawa arus ombak, karena Tuhan membersamai mereka, dikala tersesat ada langit yang menjadi peta, disaat kehabisan bahan bakar pasti ada nelayan lain yang menolong, sekalipun dia terombang-ambing pasti akan menemukan daratannya. Karena Tuhan membersamai mereka.

Bertahanlah, ombak ini hanya sementara. Kamu pasti akan sampai di pantaimu. Tugasmu sekarang bertahan pada karang, dengan kamu ditemukan nelayan, dengan kamu berenang ke daratan, dan dengan kamu menemukan daratan.

Appare! Gateball (TG-16 Mini)

If you're going up against a tough opponent in the console space, one thing you can do is try to make something they don't have. Perhaps that was the thinking behind Hudson and Westone coming together to create Appare! Gateball. The Famicom didn't have any gateball games, as far as I can tell, and the sport was popular enough in Japan that there might have been some demand for a video game version. Well, whatever the case, Appare! Gateball arrived as the fifth sports game for the PC Engine, and the one with the most "casual" appeal yet.

I'm using scare quotes there because while I think a gateball game is going to be more recognizable to non-gaming Japanese family members, for example, this game isn't very casual at all. You have to properly understand the rules of gateball, because this game plays it straight. Each player takes their turn trying to whack their ball through a gate using a mallet, after which you try to knock it through two more gates and finally hit a pin. Hitting that pin removes that ball and player from the game. You get points for each of these actions, and whichever team has the most points when the timer runs out wins. There's a bit more to it than that. I'm simplifying a little here.

The other important part is that you can be a complete jerk. Indeed, that is a big part of the strategy. If you hit your ball into an opposing ball, you get another turn. You can then do something called sparking, where you plant your foot on your ball and whack it, using the transferred momentum to send the opposing ball flying. Because of this, it is often advantageous to hang around the pin and block the other player from hitting it rather than finishing up. Keep knocking them away, then when time is getting short, tap that pin.

Apart from the characters themselves, who are somewhat cartoonishly played-up, this is a rather straightforward gateball game. You have lots of options, but in the end you're still just playing a regular ol' game of gateball. The controls work a little like golf games do, with aiming and a meter you have to stop. But it takes a long time to play even the shortest game, since there are a lot of players taking their shots and you have to watch all of them.

I'm sure many people had fun with this back in the day, especially in the early going when the console didn't have many sports games to choose from. But as someone with no particular love of gateball, I find Appare! Gateball a little dull. I get why it's included in this mini-console, but it's not one I'll spend a lot of time with now that I've written something about it. The best gateball game I've ever played, and also the worst gateball game I've ever played. Gateball.
