Situated in the town of Sasaram in Bihar, this tomb is a stunning example of Afghan architecture in India. This mausoleum is designed by Sher Shah himself and was completed within three months after his death. Built in red sandstone, it is often called as 'second Taj Mahal of India' colloquially. This three storeys tall mausoleum is standing at the centre of a lake. Interesting fact- Sher Shah Suri built GT Road by rerouting the ancient Uttrapatha route, connecting Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh to West of Kabul in Afghanistan. . .
