Rita Gorgonowa, who’s real name was Margerita was born in 1901 in present day Croatia. She was most likely either Serbian or Croatian, her father died before her birth and her mother later on remarried, meanwhile Rita was sent off to her relatives and then to an orphanage. At fifteen, she married a lieutenant and later gave birth to a son, when her husband went to war, Rita and her child lived with her in laws. When ww1 ended he came back, but unfortunately he was suffering from a venereal disease which ultimately made them fall out - he went to America in search of a job while she stayed with his family. Not long after she got into a conflict with them, as they were (wrongly) accusing her of immoral acts, which ended up in her having to leave the household and give up her son to the in laws.
In 1924 she found herself in Lviv which back then was a Polish city. She got hired as a governess and a housekeeper at the villa of a wealthy architect Henryk Zaremba and his children: Lusia and Staś. He left his wife, who was sent to a psych ward a year prior because of her suicide attempt and, apparently, mental illness. They weren’t together anymore, but formally they were still married. At first everything was going well and Rita was getting along with Henryk’s children, but a year later they began having an affair, which Lusia; the eldest daughter did not approve of. She and Rita argued a lot. Ultimately, she got pregnant. They weren’t married so the child wouldn’t be legitimate but seems like they didn’t mind it, as both of them were still formally married. The tension between her and Lusia got even bigger, which (apparently, i’m not sure if this is 100% true ) resulted in Lusia getting sent abroad for some time. Eventually, the feud caused Rita and Henryk’s bond to worsen; starting from the new year’s day him and his children along with the servants were supposed to permanently move into a different house in Lviv, leaving his „wife”.

On the night of December 30-31 of 1931 Lusia was found dead in her room. Her brother Staś was awoken by their dog - he thought he was barking, which was a mistake as it was proved that it scowled from being hit by the culprit. The seventeen year old was hit in the head with a blunt tool. He woke up the other residents by his scream, not long after the military service was called (it was next to the house, it was called instead of the police because it was placed 2km away).
All the clues were strongly related to Rita, she was immediately arrested. Henryk was suspected as well, but ended up being released. Some also accused the family’s gardener, or the foreign boy who was in love with Lusia, however she rejected his confession. Rita kept stating that she’s innocent, but it was clear that it was one of the residents behind the murder. It was later inferred that Rita sneaked into her room and tried to make it look like a burglary and rape by opening the window. During her leave she encountered the dog, who she hit in the head, causing a loud noise from it - that awakened Staś. He later told that he saw a silhouette wearing a fur coat standing by the christmas tree. She wasn’t able to get into her room, so she broke one of the windows from the outside, wounding her hand. After that, she changed her stained nightshirt to a clean one and went to the scene of the crime, being called by Staś. The police later found a weapon thrown into the pool and a blood stained handkerchief. There were also stains on Rita’s fur coat. Lusia’s blood type was A, while Gorgonowa’s 0 - the A blood type was found both on the fur and the handkerchief. Lusia was buried on the fifth of january, only Staś attended the ceremony because Rita and Henryk were at the arrest.

Rita’s court case began in april. It was heavily discussed by the press and the entirety of Poland. Many people tried to take advantage of it by lying about being at the scene of the crime, working as a maid in their household, which was all obviously false. The public was convinced of the woman’s guilt. In may, she was sentenced to death by hanging, but it was eventually changed to eight years in prison due to not enough proof and errors during the investigation. The reason for giving her only eight years in prison is because of Lusia starting a feud with her. Rita was sent to jail in 1933 and was supposed to leave in 1940, but because of the nazi invasion of Poland she was amnestied on the third of september 1939.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/92519b33c29ad8ed0ed5a7748b563ad7/c0286194b0957fc7-6b/s540x810/8edf477a8f8642764a7e4cfa5d9af52a9040d2ac.jpg)
During the occupation, she was at first living in Poznań, but then moved into the capital in 1940, in search to contact her daughter, who didn’t want to have anything to do with Rita. From 1941 to 1944 she lived near Lublin, where she was supposed to marry again and was selling meat. Soon after, her new husband was sent to jail and no one ever heard of him again. After the occupation ended she moved into the centre of Lublin, giving herself a fake name - Emilia Kańska. During the august of 1945 she moved to lower Silesia; and those were her final traces. It is not known what exactly happened to her and many theories exist. Some believe she was murdered in 1946, while others said she was apparently seen in the 50s and even 60s. Others stated that she moved to America, Italy or Yugoslavia. A small group of people also believe she was publicly hung by the gestapo in the november of 1939 in Łódź.

We don’t know where her grave is, when did she die, how did she die, however, in 2014 her daughter Ewa Illić (Illić was Rita’s maiden surname; the father did not approve of Ewa) and granddaughter Margarita looked forward to the resumption of the process, wanting to prove Rita innocent and that her sentence was caused by the massive outrage of the press, rather than justice. Her daughter stated that her mother’s reputation ruined her life: people were scared and terrified of her.

18/08/24. Bonjour et bienvenue, if you are new to this blog, what took you so long finding it 😉. For those that have followed me for the past years, thank you 😊.
The photos this week are from my “archive”. The above is of the front garden after I spent days removing very long grass and (stupidly) laying weed suppressant before I covered it with bark. I was so pleased with the result. Unfortunately now the potager is a cat toilet and the bark has lost it’s colour and the area looks shoddy. I have some more bark and would like to get the germinated seeds taken out and add more bark. Perhaps I will be able to do this very soon.
We are one week closer to the arrival of 2nd son and his girlfriend and I have had a few baking days preparing food for the freezer so that, if, I don’t feel up to cooking a meal we won’t starve 😊.
It’s been a different week with two visits to the hospital in Troyes, for my transfusions. Back to normal next week with a visit to Paris and also Troyes for the transfusions.
Talking of Paris, I messaged Jony, my Syrian friend, on Friday evening and brought him up to speed with my treatment. When I met him his paperwork in France had his name spelt as above, however, he signed off with Johnny. I am pleased he is now using (perhaps) the correct spelling of his name. I know that people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime, Johnny left Bar-sur-Aube in July 2018, although I haven’t seen him since, when we message one another it’s as if I had just seen him last week. I pray to be well enough to go to Paris one day and meet him for coffee as I used to do here in Bar-sur-Aube. Keeping my 🤞 for that one!
Anie and Monique are sharing the shopping duties, with Anie getting the visits to the pharmacy too. It’s so kind of them to do this for me, although I know I couldn’t do it myself.
On Friday, Anie was telling me about the liberation which took place on the coast of Provence on the 15 August 1944. After American, British and Canadian forces landed they were followed by some 250,000 soldiers recruited largely from French colonies in North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. As 15 August is Assumption Day this landing goes largely unremembered. She then mentioned the Résistance and I asked if she had been to the Résistance Museum in a village not too far away. She said she hadn’t and maybe we could go together. Hopefully we will get there before it is only opened to groups from November.
The cleaner came and she is a good worker, however I will have to itemise each task I want doing. I did clean the kitchen myself (apart from the floor) which she did. I want to get her to wash the window and door frames inside and out 😳 plus the glass panes.
I have a “to-do” list as long as your arm! The car is in need of a service but as I am not allowed to drive, I haven’t phoned the garage. I messaged the gardener to come and cut the grass. He didn’t respond but I feel sure he will turn up and transform the garden. Maybe I won’t contact him again just yet. I messaged the plumber to come out but again no response. He maybe on holiday and could contact me this week, if not I will call him. I have to ring the man to come and wash the outside walls of the house. Currently, the sand blown from the Sahara has caused red streaks to appear and I would like them cleaned. Finally I need to contact the roofer, I signed the estimate in October last year and he said he would come on a dry day to do the work. We have had a lot of those days but he is more elusive than “The Scarlet Pimpernel”.
“The Trainee Solicitor” now just shares his office with one other person. I hope that means that he can get on with his work without too many distractions. I know from being in a car with a driver for three hours or more, picking the skin on their fingers or picking their nose, plus a little cough which has become a habit all of these get on your nerves.
“The Recovery Coordinator” has had another “garbage” week! They have lost 5 members of staff in 6 weeks so the workload for the remaining staff has increased and it’s stressful. She is glad she has her holidays to look forward to.
“The Photographer” has had an okay week which ended with a high on Friday evening, winning a game of bingo. Yesterday he was at Scarborough AFC’s home game taking photographs. It’s something he enjoys doing and is such a change from his full-time work.
“The Jetsetter” still has clipped wings and is spending her summer going swimming, playing bingo 😂 and working. Some of that working involved a professional exam this week. I would imagine, while waiting for results of the exam, that she will be deciding on places to visit during her next round of holidays 😁.
Talking about holidays, Pauline has been making the most of the Iberian peninsula. She has been to Lisbon and Porto. Then went back into Spain visiting Malaga, Seville, Granada and Madrid. Not quite sure where she is at the moment but she is not due back in Paris until 21 August.
Goodness me, I nearly forgot the music section 😳. The first track is “Loves Me Like A Rock” by Paul Simon this was released in 1973 that makes it over 50 years old but I love it as much today as I did then. The second track is from a lady who, sadly is no longer with us, it’s “This Time I Know It’s For Real” by Donna Summer which was released in 1989. I hope you enjoy listening to these two songs.
The photo below was taken at Chateau de Cirey-sur-Blaise. A place where the writer, Voltaire, lived with Mme Du Châtelet from 1734 to 1749.
Jusqu’à la semaine prochaine.

How to Make Your Lawn More Pet-Friendly
If you're a pet parent, you know that your furry friend isn’t just a pet—they’re family. And just like any other family member, they deserve a safe, comfortable, and fun environment. Your lawn, whether big or small, plays a huge role in your pet’s daily life. But is it truly pet-friendly?
A well-maintained, pet-friendly lawn care services isn’t just about having a patch of green grass; it’s about creating a safe, enjoyable space where your pets can run, play, and relax. Let’s dive into how you can make your outdoor space a paradise for your four-legged companions.
Choose Pet-Safe Grass and Plants
Not all grass types are created equal when it comes to pets. Some varieties hold up better against the wear and tear of paws, while others may be more sensitive.
Best Grass Types for Pets: Opt for durable, pet-resistant varieties like Bermuda grass, Kentucky bluegrass, or tall fescue. These grasses are resilient and can withstand heavy foot (or paw) traffic.
Avoid Toxic Plants: Many common garden plants can be harmful to pets. Stay away from azaleas, lilies, and sago palms, which can be toxic. Instead, choose pet-safe options like marigolds, sunflowers, or snapdragons.
Use Pet-Friendly Landscaping Materials
Your choice of landscaping materials can impact your pet’s safety and comfort. Hard, sharp, or toxic materials can cause injuries or health issues.
Mulch Matters: While mulch looks great, certain types can be hazardous. Avoid cocoa mulch—it contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs. Instead, opt for pet-safe options like cedar or pine bark mulch.
Safe Pathways: If you’re adding pathways, use pet-friendly materials like smooth stones, pea gravel, or brick pavers. These are gentle on paws and won’t get too hot in the summer.
Ditch Harmful Chemicals: Many fertilizers and pesticides contain harmful chemicals that can make pets sick. Choose organic, pet-friendly lawn care products to keep your grass lush and safe.
Provide Shade and Shelter
Just like humans, pets need protection from the sun and harsh weather conditions. A yard without shaded areas can be uncomfortable for them, especially during hot summer days.
Natural Shade: If your lawn has large trees, they provide natural shade. If not, consider adding pergolas, gazebos, or large umbrellas.
Pet-Friendly Shelters: A small, cozy doghouse or cat-friendly hideaway gives your pet a place to retreat when they need a break from the sun or wind.
Cooling Features: If you live in a hot climate, adding a small kiddie pool or pet-safe water feature can help keep your pet cool and entertained.
Create a Play Area for Your Pet
A pet-friendly lawn should be fun! Adding play areas keeps your furry friend entertained while also giving them a dedicated space to burn off energy.
Agility Fun: If your dog loves to run and jump, set up an agility course with ramps, tunnels, and hurdles.
Digging Zone: Some dogs love to dig—it’s in their nature! Instead of scolding them for tearing up your lawn, create a designated digging area with soft soil or sand.
Toys and Activities: Keep a selection of outdoor toys like frisbees, balls, or chew toys to keep them engaged.
Ensure Proper Fencing and Safety
A secure lawn means peace of mind. The last thing you want is your pet escaping and getting lost or hurt.
Check for Gaps: Walk along your fence line and check for holes, weak spots, or areas your pet could squeeze through.
Consider Underground Fencing: If your pet is a notorious escape artist, underground fencing or a tall privacy fence can help.
Use Pet-Safe Gates: Make sure your gate is secure and can’t be easily pushed open by an eager pup.
Maintain a Clean and Healthy Lawn
A clean lawn isn’t just visually appealing—it’s also essential for your pet’s health. Here’s how to keep your lawn fresh and safe:
Pick Up Waste Regularly: Dog waste can harm your grass and attract pests. Clean up after your pet to keep your yard fresh.
Avoid Harmful Pesticides: Many common pesticides and herbicides contain chemicals that are toxic to pets. Opt for organic or pet-safe alternatives.
Keep Grass Trimmed: Tall grass can hide pests like fleas and ticks. Regular mowing helps keep these unwanted guests away.
Conclusion
Transforming your lawn into a pet-friendly haven doesn’t have to be complicated. By choosing the right grass, using safe materials, providing shade, and creating fun spaces, you can turn your yard into the ultimate playground for your furry friend. Plus, a pet-friendly lawn isn’t just good for them—it makes life easier for you, too!
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your gardening gloves, make a few tweaks, and watch your pet enjoy their new paradise!

How to Locate the Best Puppy Store Near You in Delhi
Finding the perfect puppy store in a bustling city like Delhi can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Whether you are looking for a furry friend to join your family or need guidance on pet care, this guide will help you locate the best puppy stores near you in Delhi. From understanding what to look for in a reputable store to learning about specific options like The Barking Babies, this blog covers it all.
Why Choosing the Right Puppy Store Matters
The puppy you bring home will be a part of your life for years to come, making it crucial to choose a reliable store. Reputable puppy stores ensure that their pups are healthy, well-socialized, and ethically bred. An excellent store will also provide post-sale support, helping you navigate the challenges of raising a puppy.
Key Factors to Consider When Choosing a Puppy Store
Health guarantee is an essential factor to consider. Ensure the store provides a health guarantee for its puppies, which shows their confidence in the health and quality of the pets they offer. Ethical breeding practices are equally crucial; verify that the store sources its puppies from ethical breeders and avoids any association with puppy mills. Clean and hygienic environments are a must. A well-maintained store reflects the care and dedication of the owners, and clean spaces indicate that the puppies are kept in healthy surroundings. Variety of breeds offered by the store is another important aspect, as it ensures you can find a puppy that fits your lifestyle and preferences. Additionally, knowledgeable staff play a vital role in guiding you through breed characteristics, care tips, and health advice.
Top Puppy Store in Delhi
Located in several prime areas such as Rajouri Garden, Punjabi Bagh, Rajender Nagar, Model Town, Rohini, and Defence Colony,The Barking Babies is a trusted name among pet enthusiasts. Here’s what makes it stand out:
Wide Variety of Breeds: From adorable Shih Tzus to energetic Beagles, The Barking Babies offers an extensive selection of puppies.

Popular Puppy Breeds in Delhi
Choosing the right breed is just as important as finding the right store. Labrador Retrievers are known for their friendly and playful nature, making them great for families with kids. Golden Retrievers, similar to Labradors, are gentle, intelligent, and perfect companions. Beagles are small, energetic, and ideal for apartment living. Shih Tzus, adorable and fluffy, are perfect for individuals or families who prefer small breeds. German Shepherds, for those who want a protective and loyal companion, are an excellent choice.
How to Prepare for Your New Puppy
Bringing a puppy home requires preparation. Start by puppy-proofing your home. Remove hazards like exposed wires and small items that puppies might swallow. Buy essential supplies, such as a comfortable bed, food and water bowls, high-quality puppy food, toys, chewables, and grooming tools. Additionally, schedule a vet visit for an initial health check-up and vaccinations.
Benefits of Adopting a Puppy in Delhi
While buying a puppy from a store is popular, consider adoption as well. Adopting gives a homeless pet a second chance, and the costs are usually lower than buying from a store. Many shelters also provide pre-vaccinated pets and include spaying or neutering in their adoption services.
Questions to Ask Before Buying a Puppy
When visiting a store, ask whether the puppy is vaccinated and dewormed. Inquire about the puppy’s age and breed background, and ensure the parents of the puppy are healthy and certified. Ask if you can visit the breeding facility and what post-sale support the store provides.
Why The Barking Babies is a Top Choice
The Barking Babies stands out among Delhi’s puppy stores for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. With multiple locations, a variety of breeds, and exceptional service, it’s a trusted destination for aspiring pet owners.
Conclusion
Finding the best puppy store in Delhi requires research and careful consideration. By focusing on factors like health guarantees, ethical practices, and knowledgeable staff, you can ensure a positive experience. Whether you choose The Barking Babies or explore other reputable options, remember to prioritize the well-being of your future furry friend. With the right store and preparation, bringing a puppy into your life can be a joyous and fulfilling journey.

Seasonal Landscaping in Bruce Peninsula
The Bruce Peninsula is a treasure trove of natural beauty, with its rugged landscapes, unique ecosystems, and breathtaking waterfronts. Maintaining this harmony while crafting beautiful, functional outdoor spaces requires thoughtful, seasonal landscaping strategies. Let’s explore how to approach landscaping throughout the year, with tips tailored to the Bruce Peninsula's unique climate and geography.
🌸 Spring: Awakening Your Landscape
Spring is a season of renewal, and it’s the perfect time to rejuvenate your garden and outdoor spaces. As the snow melts and temperatures begin to rise, the soil becomes workable. Start by assessing your landscape’s condition. Winter may have caused damage to trees, shrubs, and soil structures, so inspect for broken branches, frost-heaved soil, or compacted areas. Once the initial cleanup is complete, focus on improving soil health. The soil often ranges from sandy to loamy, depending on proximity to the shorelines. Adding organic compost can enrich the soil, boost microbial activity, and prepare it for planting. Spring is also an excellent time to plant native perennials like black-eyed Susans or wild columbines, which thrive in the peninsula’s ecosystem and require minimal care. Another essential spring task is mulching. Mulch retains moisture, regulates soil temperature, and suppresses weeds. Cedar or pine bark mulch, readily available in Bruce Peninsula’s landscaping services, complements the local aesthetic while providing these functional benefits.
☀️ Summer: Cultivating Vibrant Outdoor Spaces
Summer brings longer days and warmer temperatures, making it the most active period for landscaping. Lawns and gardens demand consistent care to stay lush and vibrant. Regular watering is crucial, but overwatering can lead to shallow root systems and wasted resources. In the humid summers, deep but infrequent watering encourages robust root development and conserves water. Maintaining a lawn is a common focus during summer. Use a sharp mower blade and cut no more than one-third of the grass height in a single session. This minimizes stress on the grass and promotes healthier growth. For those seeking alternatives to traditional turf, native ground covers like creeping thyme or wild ginger offer low-maintenance, drought-resistant options that blend seamlessly with the peninsula’s natural charm. Summer is also the time to showcase flower gardens. Consider grouping plants with similar watering and sunlight needs together to reduce maintenance. Flowers like bee balm and coneflowers not only thrive in Bruce Peninsula’s conditions but also attract pollinators, enhancing biodiversity in your yard.
🍁 Autumn: Preparing for Dormancy
As the temperatures cool and leaves turn brilliant hues, autumn is the season to prepare your landscape for winter dormancy. This transitional period is ideal for planting trees and shrubs. The fall weather provides cool air and warm soil, which are perfect conditions for establishing strong root systems before the winter freeze. Focus on leaf management during the fall. While raking is a common practice, consider leaving a thin layer of mulched leaves on garden beds to act as natural insulation and a source of organic matter. Prune dead or diseased branches from trees and shrubs to prevent structural damage during snowstorms. Autumn is also the time to fertilize your lawn. A slow-release, nitrogen-rich fertilizer can strengthen grass roots, ensuring a healthy start when growth resumes in spring. Additionally, clean and store gardening tools to extend their lifespan and prepare them for next year’s tasks.
❄️ Winter: Embracing Dormancy and Planning Ahead
Winter brings snow-covered landscapes and a period of dormancy for most plants. While outdoor activities may be limited, this is the perfect time to plan your next landscaping projects. Evaluate what worked well in the past year and identify areas for improvement. Consulting with local experts in Bruce Peninsula’s landscaping services can provide valuable insights into upcoming trends and suitable plant selections. Snow plays a dual role in winter landscaping. On one hand, it acts as a natural insulator, protecting plant roots from extreme cold. On the other hand, heavy snow and ice can damage branches and shrubs. Use burlap or protective coverings for vulnerable plants and avoid piling large amounts of snow onto garden beds during shoveling. Consider incorporating elements that enhance the winter appeal of your landscape. Evergreens, red-twig dogwoods, and ornamental grasses add texture and color to the snowy backdrop. Bird feeders and water sources also attract wildlife, bringing life to your garden during the quiet winter months.
✨ A Year-Round Commitment to Beauty
Seasonal landscaping is a year-round endeavor that combines art, science, and environmental stewardship. By adapting your strategies to the changing seasons, you can create outdoor spaces that are not only visually stunning but also ecologically responsible. Whether you’re planting vibrant summer gardens or planning winter enhancements, Bruce Peninsula’s landscaping services provide the expertise and resources to bring your vision to life. I don’t feel like sleeping just yet and i feel like yapping a little before bedtime because i found out about a HUGE court case yesterday and i genuinely keep thinking about it; so bare with me and listen to the story of Rita Gorgonowa - the biggest crime story of pre war poland
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d11dc2fb77ffe728dcb1940e873860be/2fcfd43c3e0c42f5-5c/s500x750/3229fd16d5a71dc04cf30c4cb7850f0dafa8b115.jpg)

![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/05303e0e9f1c9025bc6f4a84e57ad5f4/2fcfd43c3e0c42f5-27/s540x810/e5bc5c29864bb471560a5dad28b865ced803ee46.jpg)

![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/92519b33c29ad8ed0ed5a7748b563ad7/2fcfd43c3e0c42f5-17/s540x810/3da2bd2b368ac740ef9b4e84d62bae0be1633ac1.jpg)

Effective Tree Removal Techniques: Protecting Your Property from Diseased Trees
Trees are an essential part of your property’s landscape, providing shade, beauty, and environmental benefits. However, when a tree becomes diseased or damaged, it can pose significant risks to your property and surrounding areas. In such cases, effective tree removal techniques are necessary to prevent further damage and protect the safety of your home. This article will discuss the importance of tree removal and how to effectively remove a diseased tree from your property.
Why Tree Removal is Necessary for Diseased Trees
Diseased trees can be a serious threat to your property in multiple ways. Here are a few reasons why tree removal may be essential:
Safety Risks A diseased tree is more likely to fall, potentially causing damage to your home, fence, power lines, or vehicle. The branches of a weakened tree may also break off, posing a danger to anyone nearby. Removing a diseased tree before it becomes a safety hazard is crucial.
Spread of Disease Certain tree diseases are highly contagious and can spread to neighboring trees if not addressed promptly. Removing the affected tree helps contain the disease and protects the rest of your garden or lawn.
Property Value Protection A diseased or dying tree can decrease the aesthetic appeal of your property. If left untreated, it could negatively affect the value of your home. Tree removal helps maintain your landscape’s beauty and ensures your property retains its value.
Signs Your Tree Might Need to Be Removed
Before you consider tree removal, it’s important to know when a tree is too diseased or damaged to save. Look for the following signs:
Wilting or Discoloration of Leaves If the leaves on your tree are turning yellow or brown, or if they are falling off prematurely, this can be a sign of disease or poor health.
Visible Fungi or Mushrooms The presence of fungi or mushrooms around the base of the tree is often an indication that the tree is infected with rot or other fungal diseases.
Cracked or Splitting Bark Cracks in the bark or a peeling outer layer can signify severe damage or a tree under stress from disease.
Lean or Uneven Growth If a tree begins to lean significantly or shows uneven growth, it may indicate root damage or internal decay, making it more vulnerable to falling.
Effective Tree Removal Techniques
Once you’ve determined that tree removal is necessary, follow these steps for a safe and efficient process:
Hire a Professional Arborist While you may be tempted to attempt tree removal on your own, it’s always best to hire a certified arborist for the job. They have the experience, tools, and expertise to safely remove a diseased tree, especially if it's large or near structures.
Assess the Tree’s Condition A professional arborist will inspect the tree to assess its stability and health. If the tree is leaning or has large limbs that pose a danger, the arborist will develop a removal plan to minimize risk.
Cutting and Removal The arborist will use proper cutting techniques to carefully remove the tree, starting with the smallest limbs and branches and working up to the trunk. This process ensures that the tree comes down safely without causing harm to the surrounding area.
Stump Grinding or Removal After the tree is removed, you may choose to grind down the stump or remove it entirely. Stump grinding prevents the stump from becoming a tripping hazard and ensures that new growth doesn’t sprout from the leftover roots.
Post-Removal Cleanup A professional service will clean up the site, removing debris such as branches, leaves, and the stump. This will leave your property looking tidy and ready for any future landscaping.
Prevention: Pruning and Regular Maintenance
While tree removal might be the last resort, proper maintenance and pruning can help keep your trees healthy and reduce the risk of disease. Regular pruning removes dead or infected limbs, encourages better air circulation, and prevents the spread of disease. Always prune your trees at the appropriate time of year to avoid stress on the tree and allow for healthy growth.
Effective tree removal is a necessary step in maintaining the health and safety of your property. By recognizing the signs of a diseased tree and taking prompt action, you can avoid damage to your home, protect surrounding trees, and preserve the beauty of your landscape. Consult a professional arborist to ensure the safe and efficient removal of any damaged or diseased trees on your property.

When it comes to landscaping, one of the most important aspects is choosing the right materials. Whether you’re updating your garden, creating a new flower bed, or tackling a large-scale landscaping project, having access to quality materials like mulch is essential. Bulk landscape material delivery makes it easier than ever to get the supplies you need to create a stunning outdoor space. Here’s everything you need to know about mulch mounds and how bulk material delivery can simplify your project.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8c8ec509d996b11979016b2e6ada662f/888f103407952053-93/s540x810/540677bb2197bae347c2c4d838f436a5a934ad79.jpg)
What is a Mulch Mound?
A mulch mound is a common landscaping feature used for both practical and aesthetic purposes. These mounds of mulch help in water retention, weed prevention, and maintaining an even temperature for plant roots. They are typically created by heaping mulch around plants, trees, or garden beds. Mulch mounds can also enhance the overall look of a landscape, giving it a neat, well-maintained appearance.
Mulch is available in various types such as wood chips, bark, and shredded leaves, each offering different benefits for your garden. When you have a lot of planting areas to cover, creating a mulch mound can ensure that your plants thrive while maintaining a clean, organized environment.
The Benefits of Bulk Landscape Material Delivery
One of the most convenient ways to get the mulch and other materials you need for your landscaping project is through bulk landscape material delivery. This service allows you to receive large quantities of mulch, soil, gravel, and other landscape supplies directly to your location.
Here are some key benefits of opting for bulk delivery:
Convenience: Ordering in bulk eliminates the need to make multiple trips to the store. The materials are delivered directly to your site, saving you time and effort.
Cost-Effective: Buying in bulk can often save you money compared to purchasing smaller quantities from a retail store. This is especially true for large projects where you need significant amounts of material.
Variety of Materials: Bulk delivery services offer a wide range of materials, from mulch to soil, sand, and decorative stones. You can get everything you need for your project in one delivery.
Quality Assurance: Reputable bulk material suppliers typically provide high-quality materials. Whether you’re creating a mulch mound or laying down a base layer of soil, you can trust the consistency and quality of the materials being delivered.
How to Choose the Right Mulch and Landscape Material
Selecting the right mulch for your mound is important. Consider factors like the climate in your area, the type of plants you’re growing, and the aesthetic you wish to achieve. Organic mulches, like shredded bark or wood chips, are great for maintaining soil moisture and adding nutrients to the soil as they decompose.
Additionally, when ordering bulk landscape materials, always check the delivery policies and ensure that the material meets your specific project needs. Whether you need a large mound of mulch for a garden bed or a specific type of decorative stone, make sure to order the right amount to avoid running out halfway through your project.
Bulk landscape material delivery simplifies your landscaping tasks by offering convenience, cost savings, and a wide range of material choices. Whether you’re creating a mulch mound or need other landscaping materials, bulk delivery makes the process much easier and more efficient.

Landscaping Mulch Cape Cod
Landscaping Mulch in Cape Cod: A Comprehensive Guide to Beautifying Your Garden
Cape Cod, with its picturesque landscapes and unique coastal climate, offers a perfect setting for beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces. One of the essential elements in garden maintenance and enhancement is mulch. Landscaping mulch not only adds aesthetic appeal to your garden but also provides numerous practical benefits. In this blog, we will explore everything you need to know about using landscaping mulch in Cape Cod.
1. What is Mulch?
Mulch is a protective layer spread over the soil surface in gardens and landscapes. It can be made from organic materials like bark, wood chips, leaves, and compost, or inorganic materials such as stone, gravel, or plastic. Mulch serves multiple purposes, including moisture retention, temperature regulation, weed suppression, and soil health improvement.
2. Benefits of Using Mulch in Cape Cod
Aesthetic Enhancement: Mulch comes in various colors and textures, allowing you to enhance the visual appeal of your garden. Whether you prefer a natural look with bark mulch or a more polished appearance with colored wood chips, mulch can complement your garden design.
Moisture Retention: Cape Cod's climate can be dry, especially in the summer months. Mulch helps retain soil moisture by reducing evaporation, ensuring that your plants receive adequate water and reducing the frequency of watering.
Weed Suppression: A layer of mulch acts as a barrier, preventing weeds from sprouting and competing with your plants for nutrients and water. This can significantly reduce the time and effort spent on weeding.
Temperature Regulation: Mulch insulates the soil, keeping it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. This temperature regulation is beneficial for plant roots, promoting healthier growth and reducing stress on the plants.
Soil Health Improvement: Organic mulch decomposes over time, adding valuable nutrients to the soil. This improves soil structure, promotes microbial activity, and enhances plant growth.
3. Types of Mulch for Your Cape Cod Garden
Bark Mulch: Made from tree bark, this type of mulch is available in various sizes and colors. It is excellent for moisture retention and weed control.
Wood Chips: Often made from recycled wood, wood chips are durable and provide a natural look. They are ideal for pathways and around shrubs and trees.
Compost: A nutrient-rich mulch made from decomposed organic matter. Compost mulch enriches the soil and is great for vegetable gardens and flower beds.
Stone and Gravel: Inorganic options like stone and gravel provide a clean, modern look and are durable. However, they do not contribute organic matter to the soil.
Pine Straw: Pine needles create a light, airy mulch that is excellent for acid-loving plants like azaleas and rhododendrons.
4. Tips for Applying Mulch
Right Timing: Apply mulch in the spring and fall to prepare your garden for the upcoming growing season and winter.
Proper Thickness: A mulch layer of 2-4 inches is generally recommended. Too thick a layer can suffocate plant roots, while too thin a layer may not effectively suppress weeds.
Keep Away from Stems and Trunks: Avoid piling mulch against the stems of plants or trunks of trees, as this can lead to rot and pest problems.
Renew as Needed: Organic mulch breaks down over time, so replenish your mulch annually or as needed to maintain its benefits.
5. Where to Get Quality Mulch in Cape Cod
Several local suppliers in Cape Cod offer high-quality landscaping mulch. Look for providers that offer a variety of mulch types and provide delivery services. Always check for reviews and ask about the sourcing and processing of the mulch to ensure it is free from contaminants.

Familiarity
Blake was not happy and Max didn't know what to make of that.
Especially seeing as there was no way to keep Max from doing what he thought was the right thing.
Meaning, if Blake was going to keep sulking like he was, he wouldn't be getting the chance to catch up with Max because Max wasn't going to stop fighting on account of a little PTSD.
The tea in his mug had long since gone cold and Kyle had been called back home saying he'd be back in a few hours but realistically, Max knew that Kyle probably wouldn't be back before dark if he came back at all.
So, sitting on the porch, Max watched Blake make himself busy.
Whether that meant cleaning Max's windows or mowing the back garden, Blake was clearly working out his frustrations.
In that way, they were similar, with a lack of options to express their annoyance both men turned to cleaning.
Max's thoughts drifted from Blake back to Kyle.
'Back to the fight with the rogues.
Awfully vivid images ran through his head, of scratching and biting, of being cornered.
Dead leaves and bark under his paws.
Digging his claws into soft flesh.
Howling wolves and pained yelps.
Gunfire.
He jolted.
Gunfire?
Gillespie hadn't brought guns.'
Shrugging it off, Max brought himself out of his memories to examine the problem at hand.
Not the issue with Blake, especially since it was clear neither of them were going to come to an agreement about this but Gillespie.
All this time Max had spent with Kyle and admittedly letting himself be dragged into Kyle's fights, Max had no clue who Gillespie even was.
Sure, he'd had hints, like Gillespie being the son of the last Alpha but that didn't really give Max much of an idea.
Gillespie's demeanour, firm and confident, suggested a man who was prepared to kill and had done it before.
There wasn't an inch of hesitation to him and that was an obvious sign of an Alpha, even to Max.
What did Gillespie want, though?
The pack?
That didn't make sense.
If he wanted the pack, he wouldn't try so hard to kill them off.
Territory?
It could be.
All shifters wanted their patch of territory but would Gillespie really kill for that?
Max growled quietly.
There wasn't enough information.
Max had no way of coming up with a motive for Gillespie to attack the pack without any background information and therefore no way to come up with any contingency plans or methods of preventing Gillespie's attack.
The frustration was enough to make Max stand and pace and then he walked inside the house, only to grab the polish and start on the few medals and trophies he had earned from his time in the service.
Hours passed like this, with both Waters men finding things to clean, until they resorted to moving the sofa to get the dust mites under there and then spending yet more time mopping the wooden floor and putting a layer of varnish on it.
Neither man said anything but by the time they'd finished, all the windows were open to let the strong chemicals smells air out.
All Max's blankets and cushions had been washed and dried and put away.
His bed sheets had been replaced.
The spare room had been cleaned out for Blake.
Even the basement had its round, all the spiders cleared.
Max had actually forgotten that he'd put exercise equipment down there.
As well as a couple handguns he didn't think he'd ever need.
He only had them now because when he first came home, he'd been so used to being armed that it felt wrong to not have even that much.
He was over that now, clearly but seeing them made him wonder, would he ever need them again?
Being able to say for certain that he wouldn't would've been nice but he couldn't.
So he cleaned them off, put them away and made sure he knew exactly where in the basement he hid them.
"You gonna need those?" Blake asked, looking wary and Max shook his head.
"No harm in keeping them clean," the 'just in case' was implied and that was just another way of saying 'I don't know'.
Blake shook his head with a tired sigh.
Max listened to his father's footsteps recede up the stairs and then realised how cold it was down here.
There were blankets upstairs, so up he went, following his dad until he arrived at his own bedroom.
It was weird sleeping in the bed without Kyle.
They'd only been together during the night a few times but it felt strange, a little wrong.
It was too big, too empty, too cold.
So Max curled up in his blankets and cushions on the floor, next to the bed but not on it.
Warmth enveloped him.
With a comforted sigh, he turned over to snuggle closer to the source of the warmth.
If only he could be this warm all the time.
It was familiar, the kind of warm that reminded him of only one person and with a deep breath, he caught that exact scent.
The only scent he'd ever known that made him want to sink his teeth in and never let go.
Kyle's eyes were shut but Max knew he was awake.
They were on the bed, he noted but pushed that aside once he realised that Kyle must've put him there.
"You're back," he murmured.
Those bottomless brown eyes flickered open to gaze intensely at Max, who couldn't stop the shiver that ran down his spin.
"I'll always come back to you," Kyle whispered.
Max traced those heavy brows with light touches of his finger tips and took note of the light shading of stubble that was making itself known along Kyle's jaw.
'A beard would look good on him,' Max thought and then he smiled.
'Anything would look good on him.'
"Do you promise?"
Kyle pressed a kiss to Max's forehead, to his brow, to his nose, to his cheeks.
"Always."
Max met Kyle's lips with his own, uncontrollable possessiveness crawling through his gut to make him tighten his hold on Kyle.
Max hissed, surprised by their matching thoughts.
He nipped Kyle's ear.
"Good because you're mine."
And Max was never going to let him go.
Not without a fight.
