thank you so much for the transmisogyny reading post! im definitely gonna be reading into those. in a similar vein, do you have a recommended reading list for decolonization/anti-imperialism?
Do you mean molsno's post? def cannot take credit for that but yes I have a couple!
high-level recommendation is discourse on colonialism by aime cesaire (this link goes to a pdf that is a collection of essays, you can skip to cesaire's essay). probably one of the most formative essays for me personally in terms of how i think about colonialism
decolonization is not a metaphor by Tuck & Yang is a famous article in decolonial scholarship and will likely come up pretty frequently if you're reading academic work. if you read that article, i recommend following it up with Slavery is a Metaphor by Garba & Sorentino - its a Black critical commentary by two marxist scholars i believe on Tuck & Yang's work, working through the anti-Black thinking that is present in the work, particularly the deeply problematic conceptual attention given by Tuck & Yang to slavery when historicising and analyzing settler colonialism in North America. These are both academic articles and they're both jargon-laden so your mileage will vary
I originally included decolonizing transgender 101 by b binaohan on here before realizing that it's already in the linked post above lol. in that post is a link to the full book that i'll repost here (usually you can only find the introduction online) so definitely make use of that. anyway great work, very accessible and insightful, makes direct linkages between white supremacy, settler colonialism, and transmisogyny in a way i found extremely helpful
i read beyond white privilege: geographies of white supremacy and settler colonialism during my master's about four years ago (jesus christ the passage of time!!!) and found it very insightful - the authors talk about white supremacy as a process rather than a historical event, as well as talk about some of the conceptual limitations of the popular focus on white privilege (as opposed to white supremacy) that i found very helpful for me personally. its another academic article
I've been recently introduced to Anibal Quijano's work, particularly the Coloniality of Power. this is an extremely theoretical work that focuses on the construction and universalization of race, the 'invention of Europe,' modernity as a colonial construction, and a bunch of other pretty dense topics. thats not to scare you off, but its probably the most theory heavy article i've linked here
this list skews towards academic work because that's what im most familiar with (all the links i provided are open-access links so you should not need institutional access to read them). For books, you can read Wretched of the Earth by Frantz Fanon or Orientalism by Edward Said, they're both pretty foundational decolonial texts and are also pretty formative for me. Fanon's work is on decolonial struggle and the pathologization of colonized people, Said's work is on the construction of "the East" to justify and reproduce Western hegemony.
Hope this was helpful! I'm by no means an expert and this is only scratching the surface of scholarship on the subject. I'm still in the process of reading, but hopefully this is a good starting point for you!

Hi! I would like to request a continuation of the alpharius (omegon) party fic, if it hasn't been requested already ofc ofc. I'd love to see them make good on their "promises". Thank you!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 1
Author's note: :3
Relationships: AlphariusOmegon/Fem!Reader
Warnings: NSFW, Alpharius/reader/Omegon sandwich, Light degradation, Double penetration, Anal, Dubcon
Tumblr media
The party has proven more entertaining than you thought it would be, much to your surprise.
High ranking officers and all other sorts of a high stature pack around primarchs and a scattered few space marines, most of which of the latter are making themselves scarce- aloof in various corners. They aren't the most talkative lot; Other than perhaps the occasional Space Wolf. A few are sitting however- like the Imperial Fist across from you.
While you have no idea his name and you'll very likely never see this man again, the way he is tearing into the food in front of him will forever sear itself into the deepest parts of your mind. He tears into the meat and veg like an hellacious, wild animal; Shoving it into his mouth like it's little more than out of the pouch nutrient paste. Sauce and meat and blood collects in the corners of his mouth, before he gives you a glance like you're the odd one at this banquet table.
It is... A sight.
To watch men far smarter and stronger than any of which you could hope to be chew through meat- and what you presume was just bone judging by that crunch and the way his jaw flexed- like this is the last meal he'll ever have the luxury of shoving down his scientifically designed astartes pre-stomach.
"Are you at least paying attention?"
You turn away from the mess of a man across from you, who has been locking eyes with you for a good minute now, and look up at Alpharius; He watches you with both an expectant and amused expression. You compose yourself and abandon the shock and awe, nodding to him as you adjust the way your dress lays on your thighs.
“I am.”
He smiles, effortless and composed.
“Good girl. I trust that you are.”
It’s been a long evening; Far too much talking for your liking, far too much pretending. Alpharius thrives in it- you struggle to keep up with the web of lies they've tangled around each and every primarch that you have to navigate like a bug desperately trying not to get stuck. Alpharius at times lets it slip that he believes Omegon isn't as good with these extremely front facing plays, and that is why whenever there is galas and parties and dances, you're always with Alpharius.
'I will take her.'
Alpharius is blunt, gesturing for you to come closer. You watched as Omegon curls his lip.
'You don't trust me with as simple of a task as bringing her to get her dress fitted?'
Alpharius stares down his other half and you watch caught in the middle of both of them; And in that moment you realized perhaps they aren't as good at sharing as you'd originally thought.
'You know well that all this talking is more my thing. You stay and keep our men in order.'
Omegon stared at his brother, words unsaid, before giving in for the time being and letting go of your shoulder.
When the party begins to wind down into it's conclusion, you return to The Alpha with haste once Alpharius bids his fellow primarchs goodbye and slips away into the cold and windy evening.
The short flight back to The Alpha which sat moored in Terra's atmosphere was quiet, but the entire time you could feel Alpharius' eyes on you. Whenever you looked up at him however, questioning, he gave nothing but the smallest smile.
Alpharius had liked this dress on you, he'd said; The sleeves draped over your wrists, shining almost like the scales of their armor. The skirt fell to the floor in a small pool, and only a small slit up the side revealed a bit of skin. It was one of your favorite dresses now; Delicate while matching their armor with a formal coldness.
He preferred it on the floor, however.
Tossed aside with the rest of your clothes like little more than garbage as your writhe in his lap, teasing your body as his fingers curled inside of you.
One hand taps on your bottom lip, playing with it until he pushes your chin to make your jaw go slack, and he presses his thumb against your tongue.
“You always play your part so perfectly. You are just my dumb little beloved, aren’t you?”
Alpharius smirks at your expression as your eyes dart across his face, mouth muffled by his fingers as you try to speak up in defense of yourself.
“Don't worry; I only tease,”
You hear the door open behind you, and Omegon comes in. Any attempt to move or hide the embarrassingly open position Alpharius has you in is rendered moot before it even begins. He does at least have the decency to remove his fingers from your mouth so you no longer gape stupidly like a whorish fish, however.
“Ahh, brother. You got my vox. Come join us, she's ready.”
Omegon needs no convincing and quickly comes to join you, slipping behind you to put his face into your neck. You feel the fabric of his clothing against your skin as the rough touch of his lips trails along the vein of your neck.
“Did you enjoy yourself down there?”
He says, and you can already hear the rustling as he moves to free himself from his trousers. His cock hits the small of your back- heavy and hot. It only takes him rubbing it against you a few times feeling the way his precum slicks against your skin before he already getting hard. He raises a hand to your mouth, two fingers, and roughly presses them against your lips.
“Suck.”
You have no choice but to allow them in, covering his digits in your spittle before he removes them with a wet pop.
Alpharius meanwhile can feel your palms against his chest as your cunt leaks all over his hand, clenching around his fingers as they push into that soft, sweet spot at the front of your walls.
"It went well enough."
Omegon's hands drift downward, and Alpharius notes how much tighter you get around his fingers the moment Omegon slips his fingers past the tight ring of your ass. You keen in this adorable way, gasping as he pushes past your clenching muscles.
Always his preferred; He rarely complains about not being the one in the wet heat of your puffy cunt. An amusing happenstance.
"And you?"
You swallow a knot in your throat and nod jerkily, whimpering as both of them ruthlessly tease you open wider for them. Alpharius can tell from the way you’re whining and clenching around him that you're about to cum again, pursing your lips tight. Your clit is throbbing, and there’s an ache in your stomach that feels about to explode.
"It, It was a b-bit boring, but,"
Your sentence trails off in a shiver as you finally cum and choke on your words, a noise that Alpharius almost laughs at. Your thighs shake however, feeling him scissor his fingers inside of you even as you spasm through the aftershocks and coat his palm in your sticky release.
Nearly limp and already struggling to hold yourself up right in defense of the both of them, Alpharius decides to pick you up by the hips and ignore the way you gasp and hold on to him as the safely of the bed is left behind.
It also makes it possible for both of them to fuck you; As given your drastic difference in height, you on your knees is still not high enough for their hips to meet at your own.
Your knees hook over his arms- leaving your body dangling between the two primarchs. The lack of control makes your heart race faster, the instinctive fear of falling, but his hold on you is nothing short of suffocating as you hang pressed firmly between them exactly where they want you. You have no say in it- like you're little more than a warm toy for them to use.
Omegon goes first; Sliding his cock along your folds and feeling his shaft get coated in your juices before notching it against your ass. He slowly pushes in and listens to you whine, gasping as your hands desperately reach for something to hold on to as his cockhead pops past your tight entrance. You settle on trying to grip Omegon's arms, squeaking as he reaches almost halfway inside of you and his cock starts burying its way deeper. When he’s halfway it feels like too much, it always does, and you whimper pleading for mercy you know he won’t give.
"O-Omegon, p-please,"
Your throat catches on your words as he's almost bottomed out inside of you, the fat base of his cock pushing your to your absolute limit. Your grimace, feeling him heavy in your gut. You feel his balls press against your ass and you know he’s full buried to the hilt, your body shivering as your body tries to clench around the intrusion.
You barely have time to breathe- not that you have much room to do so in the small space between them- as Alpharius slides his cockhead through your folds before prodding your entrance, watching you whimper before he pushes and easily slips inside your dripping hole. The moment his cock starts stretching you even wider than his fingers did you squeal, and Alpharius delights at being the one to be able to see as your eyes widen and threaten to roll back in your head.
There's barely any room in your pelvis as he pushes deeper, feeling how much tighter your cunt is with Omegon already buried in you. You thrash, hips twitching as he pushes and pushes and pushes deeper until the tip of his cock snugly fits in the tight space just against your cervix. You tighten around him, feeling the stretch of your muscles struggling to try and accommodate.
Omegon eagerly follows your writhing movements, the slight bit of friction making his cock twitch inside of you as his hips instinctually want to thrust into you.
With both of them fully sheathed inside of you words are lost on you, panting incoherently as your nails dig into Omegon's skin and you haplessly pant and your hips roll with no particular goal.
You can't tell if you want to beg them to stop, or if you want them to push deeper.
It’s just too fucking much.
"Too full?"
Alpharius jokes, listening to you hiccup as tears threaten to break your waterline.
The twins don't normally do this often; They rarely are in the same place for long, and sometimes, one of them just wants you all to himself. Omegon in particular has less time with you, and often wants to have you all to himself.
Those times are when he's particularly beast-like.
Alpharius also likes to joke that this is only a reward. That if they always give you this much cock, you'll get greedy.
Your head lolls back against Omegon's chest, jaw slack and bottom lip loosely caught between your teeth as your face overheats like the burning fire of a kiln. Your eyes are glassy and unfocused, waterline filled with tears, moaning only their names incoherently. Alpharius controls the pace they fuck you by lowering you up and down on their cocks, and the pace he chooses is brutal. Your head lolls back and forth, chest bouncing, whimpering incoherently. You hear the salacious sounds of skin slapping skin and the wet sloshing of your soaked cunt, Alpharius whispering the filthiest of things while Omegon grunts and ruts into your ass like an animal.
You don’t know if you’ll ever be able to function normally after them- each time you feel like they’ve rearranged your innards to never work quite the same again.
“It seems even you aren’t meant to handle two Primarchs,”
Alpharius teases, as your lower legs bounce limply- hanging over his forearms as he fucks you. Omegon huffs hot air against your neck, leaning forward to nip at your ear and listen to the way you whine so weakly.
“Most can’t handle one.”
Alpharius hums, taking Omegon’s words into account as he slides you up and down their cocks. Your clit throbs painfully and each pulse as you tightening around them, and each time Alpharius drops you down on his cock you feel his cockhead knock against the softness right before your cervix.
“A-Alphar-Al-pharius,”
You slur his name almost drunk, stomach churning and tightening like a knot of ropes in your gut. You feel so full- too full, every time it’s like they’ve pushed you past some limit somewhere inside of you and broke you just that little bit more.
Alpharius drops you down on his cock hard and you squeal as Omegon pushes upward digging even deeper somehow, feeling your every muscle tense around him even after your ass has been bullied enough into giving up and allowing his intrusion.
“O-Omegon!”
He groans at the sound of you saying his name, his hands on your chest brushing over your skin.
You feel him cum, the raw heat of it fills your gut with an overwhelming, swollen feeling. The pressure of it finally causes you to cum again, weakly crying out and leaning back against him. Your hips squirm as much as they can in Alpharius’ firm grip, and you feel the swollen heaviness as Omegon’s cock keeps all of it inside of you. You swear you can feel each pulse and twitch as he lets out yet another string of cum into you.
Alpharius shifts a bit to continue driving his cock into you while holding you still as Omegon settles in his afterglow, thrusting his cock deeper into you. He feels the spasms of your walls as you shake, sobbing in an overwhelming amount of nearly painful sensation as Alpharius fucks you through it all.
“You really are the perfect little thing,”
He grunts out breathlessly, clearly close. You feel his balls hit your ass over and over and over and you manage to focus your eyes enough to see the light flush that has overtaken his face.
“I… I’m glad you decided to keep you.”
Alpharius finishes moments later, and you feel the heat pulsing through you as he fills your cunt. You’re so tight around his cock you can feel each pulse, listening to him groan as he fills you to the brim.
Filled with cum to an absolutely egregious degree, only once they pull their cocks from you do fat beads of cum slip out and drip down your thighs in a disgustingly erotic display. It stains the blankets below, though the thought of that isn't even close to crossing your mind.
Honestly, not much is crossing your mind at all, other than the ache in your body and the way you hang limp in Alpharius’ arms, ass and pussy both bullied open and leaking a mixture of cum, spit and your own juices. Your legs are still hooked over his forearms and dangling useless, exposed for either of them to observe their work as your cunt and ass look puffy, sore, and well used.
“You should really reconsider what I said awhile ago,” Alpharius speaks to Omegon as if he isn’t holding what once was a human but now serves as a cum stuffed fuck toy in his arms. Omegon grunts in response.
“We don’t have the time for lavish things like that-“
Alpharius rolls his eyes, watching as your head leans against Omegon’s collarbone, and each noise you let out is hoarse and sore.
“You’ll reconsider.”

Durga ( ma amba, thats what we call in my sect ) is my family goddess. I love navratri and specially playing the garba. U should visit gujurat during this festival. It's a a different feel. India and astrology has a long relation. We also have birth charts.
I want to understand, if tarot is based on energy and it keeps changing, how can It predict long term relationship. Like in relation to my question
That is a beautiful suggestion and I would love to ✨🙏✨ Absolutely on my bucket list. Durga is a beautiful family goddess to have.
I have looked into Vedic Astrology in the past, as a Westerner I know a lot more about the Western system, but when I have experimented with Vedic I resonated with it strongly, if not as strongly as I do with the Western system. I swap paradigms a lot and found the results I got with Vedic were incredibly accurate. I'd argue that Vedic is actually more in depth than the Western system and I will end up studying it further in the future.
In regards to the mystery of tarot. Tarot in the west is based off the Qabbalistic Tree of Life:
Tumblr media
Image found on Etsy by AstroQabalah
I learnt to read Tarot with Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot. This depiction of the Tree of Life corresponds to his system. This is the system I will explain as there are differences in the Thoth Tarot system compared to Rider-Waite Tarot, though both use the tree as a base to their systems. The original tarot, for example the Marseille Tarot, wasn't actually based on the tree of life at all.
Each Major Arcana card is based on a different path linking the Sefirot (spheres) on the Tree of Life. These are listed in the picture above.
The Minor Arcana are based on the Sefirot themselves, for example; all the Aces correspond to Kether, the first Sefirot, all the twos to Chokmah, the second, all the threes to Binah, the third, ect, all the way down the tree until you reach Malkuth, the tenth. Each element/suit of the Minor Arcana represents one of the four worlds within that Sefirot and correspond to its element: Atziluth corresponds to Fire/Wands. Briah to Water/Cups. Yetzirah to Air/Swords. Assiah to Earth/Disks.
The court cards are somewhat different. All the Knights (in the Thoth system) correspond to Chokmah, all the Queens to Binah, all the Princes to Tiphareth, and all the Princesses to Malkuth.
In terms of how Tarot works it is somewhat of a mystery. I am inclined to believe that it connects you to the collective subconscious somehow. The Tarot is never set in stone, it seems to predict from the point in time when the question is asked. While I personally believe it can predict future events, factors or decisions can be made which alter the course of the energy and thus the reality.

Rapture - Chapter 1
word count: 2617 rating: mature
In the aftermath of the Great Hawkins Earthquake and the death of Vecna, Robin and Steve find themselves a job at a new mascot-based children's entertainment restaurant. Nancy soon discovers all is not as it seems at the Party Palace.
---
This is a Ronance-centric story focused on creating a fun and believable alternate season 5 for the show. Definitely not a thinly-veiled FNaF AU (I promise it's more than that and has actual cool lore)!
read on ao3
next chapter
---
"And so, we played the game again, for one last time. It didn't matter that there were no maps, or dice, or no monsters. Pardieu saw the monsters. We did not. We saw nothing but the death of hope, and the loss of our friend. And so we played the game until the sun began to set, and all the monsters were dead."
- ♁ -
August 2, 1986.
"That was a shitty movie," Dustin said, rolling his eyes and setting his paper plate, slick with pizza grease, on the coffee table.
"What'd you expect? It's called ‘Mazes & Monsters'. Dumb from the start," Lucas' laugh rolled over the credits music as he finished his own pizza. It had arrived, late, three-quarters through the movie.
Mike huffed, but the light in his eyes showed he was just as entertained as his friends. Bad movies with friends always made for a fun time. "It's just crazy that so many people think that about a game, even outside of Hawkins, enough to make a weird-ass movie about it."
"They just don't realize how cool it is," Dustin turned up his nose, smirking in a very uncool way.
Steve held his hands up. "Woah there, don't get ahead of yourself," He said, having only tolerated the horrid movie because the boys found it so entertaining. He had found it pretty boring. Thank God it was over. "Just because the movie sucked and people hate your game doesn't mean you're cool, buddy."
"Be nice," Robin, sat beside (partially on, her legs sideways over his) Steve in the beat-up armchair next to the couch, playfully slapped his shoulder. "Let the dorks be nerds. Haven't they gotten enough shit for it already?" She tilted her head slightly, grinning.
"Can't let them get big heads, Robin," Steve said with a roll of his eyes, pushing his friend off of him to go and collect the group's used plates. He was always the one keeping their apartment clean—if he didn't pick them up, nobody would.
Yes, their apartment. Over the summer, following the earthquake that practically destroyed a fourth of the town, Steve and Robin had gotten an apartment together. Steve hated being alone, as his parents were always out on trips, and Robin hated living with hers. They rather liked each other, so it was an easy decision. Robin wasn't going to college ‘till ‘87 (at least) now, anyway. The earthquake had wrecked her family's house so much that they couldn't afford to send her to college anymore, so she'd be working for quite a while to save up a little money before the loans got her.
Much else had happened in the few months between the Hawkins earthquake and where they were now, the party huddled up around Steve and Robin's TV watching shitty movies snatched from Family Video by its two responsible, trusted employees. For one, the Byers and Eleven had moved back to Hawkins. Tragedy seemed to follow them wherever they went—they might as well stay close to those who could share in the grief it brought.
Max had awoken from her coma in May, blind and unable to walk. In the two months since, she'd regained her vision—somewhat—and had learned to walk again with a cane. She had been spending a lot more time with the party than she did before after Starcourt, unable to do much else and not wanting to sit around at home. She sat on the couch now, sandwiched between El and Lucas, arguing over exactly how stupid the movie really was. She seemed to be doing better, but Steve still worried about her a lot. He worried about all of them a lot.
Steve worried a lot nowadays.
The worrier tossed the plates in the garbage can by the kitchen, just a few steps from the sitting area. He crossed his arms and leaned against the counter, watching with a small smile as the group exploded into a lighthearted argument about the worst movie of all time. It was nice to see the kids laughing—Robin, too. None of them had laughed much anymore. It was hard, knowing all that they did.
Steve had watched as his kids retreated into themselves over the months following the raid on the Upside Down. He saw them become shells of themselves more than ever before. Most painfully, he watched Robin do the same. Himself, too. But it was over. It was over, for good this time. El had eviscerated Vecna's mind, and Nancy, Robin, and Steve had destroyed his body. The gates…they'd opened, the earthquake happened, but just as soon as that big, ugly gash in the earth had opened, it collapsed in on itself. It left no otherworldly trace, only massive earthly destruction.
The Upside Down was gone, for good. No more Vecna, no more Mind Flayer, no more Demogorgons or Demodogs or whatever weirdo nerd names the kids gave every Upside Down creature that reared its ugly head at them. At least, Steve hoped.
They'd never been able to figure out if destroying Vecna had destroyed the Upside Down, but it had definitely destroyed all of the gates, barring the other world from theirs permanently. There was no mastermind to force gates open, and El knew now how the original one had opened (though she never told Steve himself) and said there was no possible way it could be opened from their side again. He believed her. He wanted to.
"You zoned there, Steve?" Robin leaned her arm over the back of the armchair, giving him a funny look as the rest of the group continued arguing over the credits scrolling endlessly down the screen. He knew that look well. Are you just chilling, or having an episode, bud?
Steve ran his hand over the back of his neck. "Just taking in the scenery," He said. Not quite sure on that, Rob. "I didn't think such a shitty movie would have them in such a good mood."
"Movies, no matter the shittiness, are an art, my friend," Contrasting the pretentious tone she took on, Robin climbed out of the chair and over the back with very little grace, sliding over the arm and onto the ground at an awkward angle. She grabbed some stray, crumpled-up napkins and threw them out (Robin Buckley? Cleaning? Maybe Steve should be the one checking on her) before sitting on the counter next to Steve. Voice low, the brunette learned over to him and said, "We oughta tell ‘em."
"Oh, it's not that big a deal," Steve hand-waved her head away. "It's just–"
"What's not a big deal?" El's ears practically perked up like a cat's, and soon did the rest of the kids' as they all turned to look at the two adults in the room. Steve could swear El had super hearing in addition to all her other stuff with all the little strings of conversation she'd caught before. Or maybe it was just the urge to know, to never miss out on anything again. Never miss something that could be a sign of upset, or danger, or…
Or maybe he was projecting.
Robin shot Steve a bemused glance and nodded him along, earning a sigh from the poor man. He stood up, pushing himself away from the counter to clasp his hands together. "Alright, kids, here's the deal. Robin and I aren't working at Family Video anymore."
"What?" asked Dustin.
"Why?" asked Mike.
"So?" Max raised an eyebrow.
"We got a better job," Steve raised his hands, shaking his head dramatically. "At one ‘The Party Palace.'"
"Oh, come on dude, seriously?" groaned Dustin, chorused by the rest. "That's so lame."
The Party Palace was once, in another time, known as the Palace, a cool arcade the boys and Max used to hang out and play games at. However, following the earthquake, the former owner put the business up for sale, and it was bought and turned into a Showbiz Pizza-style establishment just in time to spoil the gang's summer. The kids hated that it was gone; Steve had said that maybe, if he got the money, he'd buy a Nintendo for the apartment for them to go crazy on instead. That had yet to happen, but it remained a possibility, since…
"They pay almost two whole bucks more there, you know. It's a business decision," Robin said, kicking her feet from the counter. She almost caught Steve's back, but he was just out of reach, on purpose.
"A business decision? It'll be a net loss with all the money we'll have to spend at the video store now!" Lucas said, exasperated.
"Yeah, what about us?" The kids huffed and puffed, their nearly endless supply of movies Robin and Steve snagged for them free of charge now at an end.
"Contrary to popular belief, our lives don't revolve around you, dipshits," Steve said, dodging another Robin kick by simply moving one inch forward. "I already pay for pizza at least once a week for the entire pack of you, you can buy a movie or two."
"Lame," El said quietly, followed by many sage nods from the others.
"You guys just suck," Steve said, glancing at the clock. 11:38 PM. "You're all probably cranky from lack of sleep. It's late, go home, get out of my house."
"One, it's not that late, two, it's not a house, it's an apartment, and three, you're zero fun," Mike said as the kids gathered their bags. "No wonder you're working at the loser arcade."
"Go home, loser," Robin threw an empty plastic cup at the boy, thonking him in the head. "It's s'posed to rain in a little, anyway," That earned quite the scoff from Mike, but the kids all went somewhat willingly toward the door.
"When do you start?" asked Max as the group was corralled through the door and down the outside stairs of the short apartment building, Steve helping her down the stairs as she hadn't quite grasped those with her cane yet. It was obvious by her question and the look in her eyes that she was calculating the amount of movies they'd be able to obtain depending on the length of Steve and Robin's remaining employment at Family Video.
Sadly for the redhead, Steve said, "Monday, why? Want to come visit the dumb baby arcade, Max?"
"Forgive me for asking a question," Max rolled her light blue eyes and climbed onto the back of Lucas' bike. He'd been ferrying her everywhere since she gotten out of the hospital.
Steve watched, hands on his hips, until all the kids had vanished from sight. It had begun to sprinkle. He ran a hand through his hair—can't have that getting messed up, no sir. But man, those kids would be the death of him, he was sure. They already almost had been at least five times. At least.
He turned to climb the rickety wooden stairs leading back up to his apartment, not daring to risk the splinters of the handrail, despite it becoming increasingly slick as the rain began to fall in thicker, heavier drops. He opened the red-painted door to find Robin back on the armchair, ignoring the remaining mess of disposable cups and napkins strewn around the room. Oh, Buckley. He knew her cleanliness couldn't last.
Robin remained silent as Steve began picking up the refuse littering the floor and coffee table, playing with the many thick rings that adorned her hands. "Kids always leave a fuckin' mess, I swear," Steve muttered as he tossed the garbage into the can. "If they don't clean up after themselves next time, they're never allowed over again, and I mean it this time."
"Quit being such a housewife, Stevie," Robin hummed, looking up from her rings to shoot Steve a smirk.
"Oh, shut it, you're just as bad as them," Steve chastised her, getting a paper towel to make sure the coffee table didn't get too many cup rings on it. If only those damn kids knew how to use coasters. "Worse, maybe. If I didn't pick up after you, this place would be a dump."
Robin laughed, a sound Steve had always liked, even when they were nothing but coworkers at Scoops Ahoy. Jeez, that felt like such a long time ago. "I picked up those napkins earlier! Just for you."
It thundered outside. "My hero," Steve grimaced out a smile and fake-half-curtsied as aggressively as possible, causing Robin to grin. He went to wash his hands in the sink and was about to tell her to turn off the TV before the bulb went out when all of the lights suddenly flickered in the apartment.
Steve jumped nearly through the ceiling, going pale as the lights fizzed and flickered before stabilizing again. He steadied himself with a wet hand against the counter, sink still running beside him, and took a deep, shaky breath. Just storming. That's it, that's all.
"You okay, Steve?" Robin's voice, far shakier than it had been moments before. Steve looked up from the blank spot he'd been staring at on the counter as he tried to calm his racing heart to see his best friend's pale face peering over at him from the chair, eyes wide.
"I'm good, yeah," Steve replied, letting out a sigh. He hated being so jumpy—he'd never been before…well, everything. But now, it just seemed to keep getting worse.
He knew Robin was dealing with the same thing. The other week, a black snake (Steve was unsure of the type, but Robin said it wasn't poisonous) got into the apartment and scared the shit out of both of them, who had mistaken it for a tentacle. Every time a lightbulb went out, every time their neighbor's loud-ass grandfather clock chimed, every anything, their hearts jumped into their chests. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Robin nodded. She waited a minute before saying, in a slightly less shaky tone, "Got any beers left?"
"No, but I have some vodka, Coke, and some Twizzlers," Steve moved to open one of their cabinets. Drinking after a little Upside Down-memory-thing had quickly become tradition in the Buckley-Harrington household after a night spent celebrating their brave removal of the snake from the premises. It probably wasn't healthy, but what were they supposed to do?
"Oh, gimme that, then, Harrington," said Robin, who got up to change tape in the player. They were always quick to move on from the topic of the Upside Down—unless they were drugged up by Russians, it was hard to get either of them to talk about their feelings. "What movie?"
"Uh, I dunno," Steve shrugged, pouring them each a nice concoction and tossing the bag of Twizzlers onto the couch. "What do you wanna watch?"
Robin sifted through the stack of rented movies the kids had left on the TV stand and picked one at random. "Oh, hey, they got Back to the Future."
"Bet that was Henderson," Steve brought the drinks to the coffee table and sitting on the couch. Robin shoved the tape in and sat down next to him, putting a Twizzler in her drink to use as a straw. Eventually, it grew too slow for her impatient brain, and she ended up chugging the whole thing.
Steve gave Robin's arm a gentle slap. "Woah, Buckley, slow your roll," He said, concern drawing his eyebrows together just a bit.
"Chill, we don't have work ‘till Monday. It's Saturday," Robin said, grimacing after swallowing the last of her drink.
"You handle drinks as well as I handle not housewifing," Steve replied, taking a sip of his own. Eh. Not his favorite. "I'd love for you to be alive in the morning." "Gee, thanks."

Top Styling Tips for a Glamorous Durga Pooja & Navratri
ooking for how to style on festival occasions? Craftzone shares styling ideas for Durga Pooja and Navratri, with sarees, jewelry, and festive home decor
How to Style on Festival: Perfect Outfits for Durga Pooja and Navratri Celebrations
Festivals are a time for joy, celebration, and showcasing the best of ethnic wear. Durga Pooja and Navratri are two of the most vibrant festivals celebrated in India, bringing people together in traditional attire, beautiful jewelry, and accessories. Choosing the right festive outfit can elevate your style and make these moments unforgettable. Craftzone offers a diverse range of sarees, home décor, kids wear, women’s fashion, bags, and jewelry, perfect for crafting the ideal festive look. Whether you’re dancing the night away at a Navratri Garba or attending Durga Pooja with family, here’s your ultimate guide on how to style on festivals.
1. Choosing the Right Saree for Durga Pooja and Navratri Pushpa cotton saree with blouse
Tumblr media
When it comes to festive dressing, sarees are a timeless choice that never goes out of style. The elegance, versatility, and cultural depth of a saree make it a fitting choice for both Durga Pooja and Navratri. With Craftzone’s exclusive saree collection, you can find the perfect drape that suits your style and the festive vibe.
A. Traditional Bengali Sarees for Durga Pooja
Tumblr media
Durga Pooja, especially in West Bengal, is synonymous with classic red and white sarees. The bold red against the white or cream saree base is a traditional color scheme that symbolizes purity and festivity. Opt for sarees with intricate zari work or a heavy border to embrace the traditional look fully. Pairing this saree with gold jewelry completes the aesthetic, bringing out the grace and charm of the occasion.
B. Vibrant, Lightweight Sarees for Navratri
Tumblr media
Navratri is a celebration of colors, energy, and music. Choosing sarees in vibrant colors like yellow, pink, green, and blue can amplify the lively spirit of the festival. Lightweight sarees in chiffon, georgette, or even silk blends are great for those planning to partake in Garba and Dandiya nights. Look for sarees with mirror work or sequins for added sparkle that captures the energy of Navratri.
2. Kids Wear: Festive Looks for the Little Ones
Tumblr media
Festivals are a time for the whole family to dress up, including kids. Craftzone offers kids wear that brings comfort and style together, ensuring that your little ones look festive without compromising on ease.
A. Ethnic Lehenga Sets for Girls
For young girls, colorful lehenga sets are a popular choice during festivals like Navratri. Look for sets with a vibrant color palette and detailed embroidery or mirror work. A simple yet playful lehenga-choli outfit allows girls to twirl and dance while enjoying the festival.
B. Dhoti-Kurta for Boys
For boys, a dhoti-kurta set brings a traditional yet contemporary flair to their outfit. This outfit, especially in colors like orange, green, or blue, complements the joyful ambiance of the festivals. Dhoti pants with a short kurta offer the right balance between comfort and festivity, allowing them to join in the celebrations with ease.
3. Women’s Fashion: Styling Ideas Beyond the Saree
While sarees remain a popular choice, women today are exploring various styles to suit their personalities and comfort levels during festivals. Craftzone’s women’s fashion collection offers a wide range of options to diversify your look for Durga Pooja and Navratri.
A. The Versatile Anarkali Suit
Anarkali suits, with their flowing silhouette and rich fabric, are perfect for both Durga Pooja and Navratri. Choose an Anarkali with intricate embroidery or beadwork to give your outfit a festive touch. Anarkali suits in royal colors like maroon, navy, or emerald green make a striking statement. Pair them with heavy earrings and a potli bag for a complete festive look.
B. Modern Lehengas with a Twist
Lehengas have become a versatile choice for festivals, and they offer endless styling possibilities. For Navratri, opt for lehengas with colorful mirror work, paired with a stylish crop top or choli. For Durga Pooja, a more elegant lehenga with gold or silver thread work can be an eye-catching outfit. Add a dupatta draped in a unique style, such as over one shoulder, for a touch of grace.
4. Accessorizing: Jewelry and Bags to Enhance Your Festive Look
Tumblr media
No festive outfit is complete without the right accessories. Craftzone’s collection of jewelry and bags can help elevate any festive attire.
A. Statement Jewelry for the Perfect Finishing Touch
For Durga Pooja, gold jewelry is traditionally favored. A beautiful gold necklace, along with matching bangles and earrings, creates a sophisticated look. Navratri, on the other hand, is a great time to experiment with oxidized jewelry, which has become trendy for Garba nights. Look for chunky necklaces, jhumkas, and bangles in oxidized silver to bring a bohemian vibe to your outfit.
B. Stylish Bags to Match Your Outfit
A clutch or potli bag adds the final touch to a festive outfit. For Durga Pooja, go for an elegant clutch in gold or silver to match the grandeur of the occasion. For Navratri, a colorful potli bag with mirror work or beads pairs beautifully with the bright hues of your attire and is perfect for carrying essentials while you dance.
5. Home Décor: Creating a Festive Atmosphere
Festivals are not just about dressing up; they’re also a time to decorate your home and create a festive atmosphere. Craftzone’s home décor range includes items that can bring warmth and joy to your living space during Durga Pooja and Navratri.
A. Rangolis and Decorative Torans for Entrance
A beautifully designed rangoli can make a grand impression at the entrance of your home. You can also add torans with beads and flowers above doorways to invite festive cheer into your home. Torans with red and yellow flowers are especially popular for Durga Pooja, as they represent auspiciousness.
B. Ethnic Cushions and Table Runners
During the festivals, adding ethnic cushions and table runners with traditional prints can brighten up your living room. Look for vibrant hues that complement your décor. Adding brass or silver lamps can also add a warm, welcoming glow to the space, making your home look inviting and festive.
6. Styling Tips for Men: Embrace Ethnic Elegance
Men’s fashion during festivals has also taken a stylish turn, with options that mix tradition with modernity.
A. Kurta-Pajama Sets with Nehru Jackets
For Durga Pooja, a simple kurta-pajama in neutral shades paired with a contrasting Nehru jacket can be both sophisticated and comfortable. The Nehru jacket adds an extra layer of style without being too heavy, making it suitable for the warmer October days of the festival.
B. Dhoti with Short Kurta for Navratri
For Navratri, men can experiment with a short kurta paired with a dhoti for a more traditional look. Earthy colors or bright hues work well, depending on the vibe you’re going for. Accessorize with a dupatta or scarf in contrasting colors, and you’re set for the Garba night.
7. Footwear for Festive Comfort and Style
The right footwear can bring your entire look together while ensuring comfort for long hours of celebration.
A. Mojaris and Kolhapuris for Durga Pooja
For Durga Pooja, traditional mojaris or Kolhapuri sandals add an ethnic touch to your outfit. These comfortable footwear options are perfect for navigating the busy streets during pandal hopping or spending hours at the puja.
B. Colorful Juttis for Navratri
For Navratri, juttis in bright colors with mirror work or embroidery pair beautifully with lehengas and sarees. Not only do they add to the ethnic vibe, but they’re also ideal for dancing.
Celebrate Durga Pooja and Navratri with Style: Embrace Tradition and Uniqueness with Craftzone’s Festive Collection
Styling for festive events like Durga Pooja and Navratri is all about embracing tradition while expressing your unique style. Craftzone’s vast collection of sarees, kids’ wear, women’s fashion, jewelry, bags, and home décor makes it easy to find pieces that align with the season’s trends.
