Never really considered the gameplay tutorial theme as Ganz’s theme before (and it isn’t listed as such in the OST), but I do like how the arrange album took a 40 second track and made this

Well holy shit I just had a wtf moment lol

So, here I am, sitting in my comfy chair, grinding the living shit out my Miner in FFXIV. Boring stuff, so I decided to educate myself for a change and found a nice little second world war documentary on youtube. 

So I open the video, start listening and am like: “Hmm... that’s some srsly cool music they got there.”  Like, it’s literally the first thing that catches my attention. Very music, much drammatic, sounds awesome.

The thing is, almost all music from documentaries I’ve watched so far was either stock or blatantly stolen from somwhere (like the Xenosaga Trilogy. I shit you not). So imagine my surprise when I saw the name “Kenji Kawai” in the credits. 

You know, the guy who also made the OSTs for Gantz, Death Note and frickin Ghost in the Shell animes. 

Well, that at least explains the high quality of the music lol

But I really had to wonder: what were the makers of the documentary thinking? What went through their heads? Like, imagine the scenario:

You are about to make documentary about literally the biggest tragedy of the last centry. You got high budget, a lot of employees, a concept... and then you go like: “You know what? Let’s get that dude who makes anime and gaming soundtracks to do music for us!”  

I mean, nothing wrong with that, but it just makes me wonder how the hell they ended up hiring him of all people lol
