“This isn’t about settling a debt. My sisters wouldn’t have even been in danger if your boss wasn’t such a sciocco, so we owe you nothing.”

“If that’s true, then why are you here?”

Nesta’s answering smile was lovely but edged.

“If you don’t know, then perhaps I came to the wrong man. I doubt your friend Azriel would require any explanation.”

Cassian could hear his heart practically beating in his ears.

“You’re not his type,” he bit out.

“Sei un pessimo bugiardo,” she replied calmly, an edged grin curling at the corner of her mouth.

She was right; he was a liar, because she was every man’s type. Especially Azriel’s.

Cassian didn’t want to think about what Az would have done if she’d gone to his door instead.

At this her eyes went to Cassian.

“His name was Genesio. I’ve known him all my life.”

Cassian quickly waged and lost the campaign against his own rising temper.

“He tried to strangle you!”

“He was following orders, the same way you do. How are you any better than him?”

Realizing his mistake Cassian snapped his mouth shut, but Nesta’s growing smile told him he’d already said too much.

“And what makes you say that?”

Her smile grew.

“No one makes knives like the gokudō, and the one he carries is particularly lovely.”

Hey! I read your Nessian fic sometime ago about mobs I think, and I was wondering if that was just a one shot, or if you ever planned to continue it? I couldn’t find it on your masterlist

Yes, it’s called Omertà and it’s going to be a multi-chapter work that will also feature Elriel (and possibly some Feysand if I’m feeling up to it)

I was too lazy to add it to my masterlist, but I will try and get that done soon!
