TL Note:
人生二周目 is slang that’s hard to translate as is. It could be literally translated as “second-lifer”, but really, it refers to people who say a bunch of philosophical stuff to the point where they seem much older than they are, as if they had already experienced decades of life. In other words, it’s as if they were old people that have been reincarnated into the body of a younger person. I went for “old sage” because it felt like it’d be the best way to convey that “smartass old man” vibe Jigen has that makes people tease him.

Ride Kamens Event Snap | Ep.5: DK
Text version and TL notes under the cut.
Haruma: Do I pass as a DK?
Jigen: DK? Why are you talking about apartment layouts all of a sudden?
TL Notes
Haruma’s DK stands for 男子高校生 (danshi koukousei), “high school boys”, while the DK Jigen is thinking about refers to apartment layouts in Japan. DK stands for “dining kitchen” and refers to apartments where you don’t have a living space but you do have a separate kitchen/dining kitchen. For example, a 1DK apartment is an apartment with a bedroom and a separate kitchen, but no living room (for a living room, you’d be looking for a LDK instead).

Gamo Jigen (CV: Okamoto Nobuhiko)
“I don’t need anyone but myself.”[1]
A serious hardworker who follows his own path
A honest and competitive young man.[2]
He’s old-fashioned and doesn’t understand jokes, so he’s sometimes teased by his peers who call him a stubborn old man.
His sense of justice is much stronger than anyone else and he patrols daily.
His hobby is coming up with his own proverbs.
Profile
Class: Justice Ride
Height: 172cm
Weight: 64kg
Birthday: June 19
Age: 18
Zodiac Sign: Gemini
Hobby: Reading
Skills: Coming up with proverbs, calligraphy
Rider Finisher: Great Heroic Barrage[3]
Voice Lines
“I don’t really need anyone. I only need myself and my own strength.”[4]
“I need to be alert at all times. I’ll be patrolling today too.”
“We’ve got free time. How about we go to the library and look for new books?”
TL notes
馴れ合い can be understood as “friends” since 馴れ合う is generally used to mean “get closer to/befriend someone”, so I went for a line TL that’d be punchy and show he doesn’t need anyone in general.
負けず嫌い means quite literally “hating to lose,” but I opted for “competitive” to make the TL less wordy. You could also interpret that as him being never satisfied until he reaches a certain standard too, since that could be used in that way.
This finisher move made me so mad I sent a 6 minutes and a half long voice note to a friend on Discord specifically to bitch about it. 連弾 can be read in two ways that both refer to different things in music. When read rendan, it's a quatre mains, a piece of piano music played by two people on the same piano. When read tsurebiki, it refers to two or more people playing the shamisen or koto together. Of course neither of those make sense for this guy, who has nothing music-related whatsoever in his profile. It took me hours of scrolling through Google during my work break and sifting through all the music-related stuff to finally find something that sounded in line with Kamen Rider, and what gave me the answer were Yu-Gi-Oh card retail websites and a Japanese Dead Cells wiki. A fucking Yu-Gi-Oh card name was what made me realize “ah shit, it’s not only a music-related term”. I’m still so fucking mad. Anyway, I opted for “barrage” as in a “barrage of hits”, because other options I considered like “flurry” or “volley” didn’t sound as catchy.
This line is kind of like his intro tagline but with extra steps, so that’s pretty much why I worded it like this.

Ride Kamens Daily Snap | Ep.6: The Food Adventurer
Text version & TL notes under the cut.
Shion: Ah, Gamo-kun, do you want to try this with me? It’s called patlıcan salatası.[1]
Jigen: No, thanks, I’m fine. Anyway… you always eat pretty strange food…
TL Notes:
I translated the も here as “with me” because it sounded more natural in this context. As for the culinary note, patlıcan salatası (”eggplant salad”) is a Turkish meze made with grilled mashed eggplant, olive oil, lemon and garlic. There are multiple varieties, like some including tomatoes and green peppers, and some including yogurt.

If you’re only interested in finding the answer of your favorite character, feel free to search for their name.

(4;4)
Leon: Thank you for waiting. I suggest you take… the gummies, which Q-sama has also ordered.
Q: Huh? You like gummies too? Don’t copy me!
TL Notes:
The original question only has 味. I added “food” just so the answers to the questions would sound less awkward.
王道 can also mean “the traditional manner” or “the tried-and-true method,” so, uh… I guess “iconic” could do the trick, too, especially considering the result this choice leads to.
I’ll be honest, this one stumped me a bit, so I just went for the safest TL approach here by TLing 量重視 as “plenty”, even if it sounds a bit awkward
I TLd this in an approximative and very simple way because if you try TLing 自然を感じる (”feel the nature”) literally in this context, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
I had to omit TLing 旨味 (umami) in this choice, or else I didn’t know how to word my translation. Though, umami does mean “savoriness,” so… close enough, I suppose?
It felt redundant to TL フレッシュ (”fresh”) and スッキリした (”refreshing”) back to back, so only “refreshing” it is.
気が合う can mean “get along well” or “be like-minded”. “On the same wavelength” seemed appropriate considering the context. Also, I’m pretty sure that いる is for 要る, “need”, so I’m assuming he’s asking if the MC wants their pickles or not because needing them sounds strange in context. I don’t think he means to ask if there are pickles, otherwise the verb would have been ある. EDIT May 13 2024: The Justice Ride detailed profiles just dropped and it was confirmed Haruma hates pickles, so I edited the line to be "do you want my pickles" instead.
I TLd 実は as “you know” since he’s talking to the MC and I felt that “in fact” would have sounded a bit too awkward.
He’s using those good ol’ yojijukugo here. 牛飲馬食 literally means “to drink like a cow and eat like a horse,” so pretty much gobbling down food. “Gorge” felt more… Taiten-like, in terms of wording. I decided to TL 禁物 as “you mustn’t” simply because “it’s forbidden to […]” sounds super awkward in this context. Also, I TLd 一口一口 as “every single bite” because of the を in the line.
Translated in a roundabout way. More literally, the line is closer to Shion saying Leon adopted his idea for the pasta sauce, but the message gets across with the simple wording anyway.
仕入れ先が気になるところ is literally more along the lines of being concerned about the suppliers, but it just sounds odd considering the context of the line, so “I wonder who supplies [the fruit]” sounded more appropriate.
I decided to TL this more as a comment to himself than something he’d tell someone else, and the やっぱ was TLd as “great” bc the other expected meanings would have been a bit odd to use here, I think.
