There's an absolutely overwhelming amount of stuff in only three pages and LOADS to say, so I'm going to bullet point this to keep this as brief as possible because I try to write these posts within the timeframe of a single Mountain Goats album.

Rose + Dave

Those notification bubbles above the computer really exist, in Sburb at the very least! Rose knows that Dave is wearing those stupid shades confirmed.

The command is 'Rose: Pester John.' and Rose only half obeys this - she pesters, but it isn't John. Always cool to see characters push against commands, and to have expectations subverted for the reader.

Dave acknowledges that his bro might be taking puppet irony too far, and it's Rose he chooses to tell this to, explicitly saying 'don't tell John.'

Dave's bro's ventriloquist rap doll haunts him in his dreams?? This is definitely a normal sibling dynamic and definitely not something that's going to end up being super important given the general theme of the characters having dolls in their house.

What are Dave's bro's websites and are they anything like Dave's? Does Rose think Dave's bro is cooler than he is? Is this a sticking point in their friendship?

'I suspect he is preoccupied with the fact that he just had a bucket of water dumped on his head by the ghost of his dead grandmother, who also happens to be dressed like a clown.' Fucking insane thing for Rose to say. No wonder Dave has no idea what to make of it.

John + Nanna

Nannasprite is the coolest ever. Lots of her wisdom clearly comes from being a game NPC, but she dispenses it in such a grandmotherly fashion.

Nannasprite is also the most powerful character because she never has to retrieve her arms. She has one all the time, while everyone else is sometimes drawn without them.

Very interesting dynamic that John doesn't remember his nan from before she died, and is essentially getting to know her for the first time in gamesprite form.

Absolutely hilarious bit that Nannasprite pretends not to know what a computer is.

Dad + Imps

The imps on p.421 are both clown themed and have the same bodies, but different color schemes. One is a shale imp exactly like the one John thought - the other could be a different flavor of imp who drops different loot?

John is 'a fine young man just like [his] father' according to Nanna. I sure would love to know what Dad was like when he was young.

With the new knowledge of the strife portfolio, can we assume Dad uses both cakekind and broomkind? Possibly other fatherly household objects too?

Dad was kidnapped by 'the forces of darkness,' which doesn't sound very good. The imps seem like really low level enemies though, and not deserving of this title. Who do they work for? In D&D, imps are very low level fiends who serve devils and archdevils, and I believe this comes from Christian mythology. But imps aren't typically evil in and of themselves, just mischievous lackeys, so something bigger is happening.

The Lore!!!!

The Medium - makes me think of an artistic medium, as in a type/category of art or the material used to create art, or of a medium/middle between light and darkness or good and evil.

The Incipisphere - from incipient, 'beginning to happen or develop' + sphere, a uniform three-dimensional round shape. This is interesting, because the place is 'untouched by the flow of time' but also has just come into being with the beta release of Sburb and also 'somewhat paradoxically, almost has' existed apart from it. This works because I too have had older relatives tell me confusing stories that don't make logical sense.

John is not inside a computer or digital space, the computer served as a portal to a different physical space (which is also a ring of pure void). Computer (or fiction in general) as portal to another world is a common metaphor that is being made literal here.

Sburb probably dictates how much gamesprites know and how much they're allowed to tell the player. To what extent is Nannasprite 'pre-programmed' and to what extent is she making her own decisions? Is the lore she gives John completely reliable?

I've been suspicious of two things, first:

this circle arch thing on the map when you're traveling to, like, the lonely shack or sozo's place or whatever

I've completed the game to it's fullest in it's current form, dlc and such, and this area has not become available, it's just hanging out.

Maybe it's just decoration, but I feel like sometime in the future this'll become an area to go to. Since it looks like a portal, maybe it'll go to another realm? not purgatory but in the likes of it

and then there's the boat by the dock in Pilgrim's Passage

I've never been able to interact with it, though it looks like you should be able to go explore on it or something. It has that interactable gamesprite vibe, right?

I know the sex jokes are the big hype and all that but in the end thats all just, jokes to me because I really want to see some more buildings for the cult, more story related quests and more interactions with the bishops, Narinder, and some hints or a reveal of who and what exactly is the Mystic Seller

Cross or X? It's both. Because of the angle Bandit's head was tilted in his original gamesprite, there was a lot of community confusion about whether it was an X or a Cross. Bandit's creator drew it as an X in concept art, but some people only knew him from games (without the context of that art), so it just grew from there. There's a bunch of art floating around with his X instead as a Cross, and I didn't want to invalidate people's fanart. I found it easier to draw it both ways anyway, so that's just become the default. He does call it an X though, even when it is a Cross

Bandit would definitely be able to use other weapons. I imagine he works with what he has, and is just able to easily pick up new skills from observation.

Kinda a yes kinda a no in the case of Bandit meeting guardians. I can imagine how those interactions would go, but in practice I have no storyline currently of him meeting any of them. So I'll settle on a "No, for now"

Same meta-awareness as Zacharie (if not more) but it really depends on how meta you think Zacharie is. I think more because I imagine Zacharie knows he's in a game and how the game works, while Bandit is aware not only of the game, but the fangames, and the larger fandom as a whole. Yes Bandit has been included in multiple fangames, but he's technically been removed from most of them. I could go on a whole tangent for that, but it'll have to be a separate thing. Bandit would be aware he used to be in those stories, but was removed. What happened in those stories may still influence how he acts in his current, personal story.

Finch can't beat the shit outta Bandit cuz Bandit has a gun, but I appreciate rooting for Finch haha

Bandit's opinions on each zone's elsen: Zone 1 - uptight and boring Zone 2 - scaredy-cats Zone 3 - know's how to party/unpredictable The Room - weird as all hell He'll cozy up to anyone tho, because again he cares most about the money

Rock-paper-scissors is a game done with both hands in my case, so I'm not sure how the Inventor would be able to try and steal something, but for the sake of the hypothetical, Bandit wouldn't let anyone steal from him. Inventor would probably not walk away from the game.

I can't really imagine a canon ship involving Bandit. He's just not that type of guy to care so much about anything other than his personal gain

Okay okay back with more Bandit questions and observations now!!! Hi!!! First off, what's the model of his gun? Literally just curious, really doesn't mean anything unless I feel like drawing it lmao. Secondly, what's his thoughts on the people in power/the guardians + the queen (I'm lumping the Judge into the guardians)? You said he won't work when he can survive well on his own, but does his dislike stretch out to even wishing harm on the guardians? Actually, does he know if a guardian dies, their Zone dies, too? How knowledgeable is he on the world of OFF's lore and how it functions?? Thirdly, does he have any friends I should know about? You drew him interacting with Project Goldfinch/Just Finch to break up the text in my first ask, what's their relationship? Does Bandit scam him to hell and back, or do they just casually chat every now and then? Fourthly, I VERY BRIEFLY checked out Ask Bandit and here are some observations I made: Uno, how come you ship him with Red from Animal Crossing? Is it cuz they both steal and resell?? If so, that's hilarious and I love your sense of humor. Dos, when drawing him with Elsen 7 I did not know Bandit currently resides in Zone Three, because 7 lives in Zone One. This whole time I was under the impression he travels through Zones for some reason lol? I guess that's my curse of having a handful of ECU Elsen that do that themselves lmao. Last but not least, not something Ask Bandit related, just generally speaking, would you like to see any future doodles I make of Bandit, whether he's interacting with my own OCs or otherwise? I modeled Bandit's gun after a Glock?? Kinda?? I didn't really reference a specific model, more like loosely inspired. I probably should create a prop-reference for it, but I haven't yet.

Bandit's dislike for authority does not stretch to wanting to take out the guardians. It would be counter-intuitive to his role as a merchant to kill off his customers by killing off the guardians. Bandit cares too much about profit, and although the guardians are annoying, without them he wouldn't have profit.

Bandit is fully aware on how the world of OFF works, it's inner workings, and other meta things.

Bandit will say anyone is his friend, even if they clearly hate him. Louis would be the only one that would truly think of Bandit as a friend (except maybe my elsen-sona, but they're a mary-sue type oc and should probably not be counted if we're talking in-universe/story lol)

As Finch is the protagonist in my game concept, Bandit will be the merchant selling them items. Finch is distrusting of Bandit, but sees him as a necessity in their mission. I do have an idea where Bandit does steal something from Finch to propel the plot, but who knows if that'll stay in the final lol

Bandit x Redd is a joke ship created by @brandy-elsen (tagging the account it was posted on and not your current account because I do not wanna waste a tag on this I am sorry Brandy AHHSGFG). All the credits to her for the comedic genius. I think you guessed right as to why that ship exists tho. I just drew it for that post because it met the "two pieces of fanart" criteria I set.

Bandit travels the zones, your initial assumption was right. He is only in Zone 3 on the askbandit blog because of the story being told on there. He's gotta refill his stock of sugar manually since sugar happens to be one of the things he cannot magically pull from his pack.

I would love to see future doodles you make of Bandit! I like collecting all the fanart I get and posting it (with credits/links) to his gallery on toyhouse.
