I fully wish that Toei had included a filler scene between Wano Act 2 and 3 where Usopp gets rid of the frog on his head, Boingnosuke.
My hc is that Usopp had to let him go in a forest because he believed the Onigashima raid would be too dangerous.
I think it'd be most entertaining if Usopp is giving a tearful goodbye, but Boingnosuke just replies in ribbits, and occasionally tries to get back on Usopp's head. Usopp keeps trying to argue back like he understands its ribbits and eventually has to yell at it to go away.
Extra points would've been giving out if the filler scene included a flashback of Usopp saving Boingnosuke from a snake, as described in an SBS.

Another fave from The Met's #KimonoStyle show for #FrockFriday + bonus #FroggyFriday:
Fireman's Jacket (Hikeshi-banten) w/ Shogun Taro Yoshikado Japan, Edo period (1615-1868), mid-19th century Quilted cotton with tube-drawn paste-resist dyeing (tsutsugaki) with hand-painted details John C. Weber Collection
“[The jacket] features a scene popular in Kabuki & based on a print by Utagawa Kunisada (1786-1865) in which the warrior Yoshikado asks a frog sage for magical powers to avenge the murder of his father.” This is that print:
Utagawa Kunisada (Japanese, 1786-1865) "Actor Nakamura Shikan IV as Shōgun Tarō Yoshikado" 1862, 12th lunar month Publisher: Hiranoya Shinzō Dimensions: 14 9/16 × 9 3/4 in. (36.99 × 24.77 cm) (image, vertical ōban) Print (ukiyo-e / yakusha-e); Woodblock print (nishiki-e); ink and color on paper Portfolio: From Toyokuni's Drawings: A Magic Contest (Toyokuni kigō: Kijutsu kurabe 豊国揮毫 奇術競) Minneapolis Institute of Art 2016.137.2
BTW that “frog sage” is Gama Sennin, the Toad Immortal; here is another woodblock print (actually a triptych) by the same artist of the same legend:
Utagawa Kunisada (Japanese, 1786-1865) “Gama Sennin Instructing Yoshikado and Takiyasha," 1845 ôban triptych (38 x 77.5 cm)
“Gama Sennin is the toad immortal, and here they appear almost like an old woman, with their long hair fashioned from a toad-faced pelt and appearing in a toad-like body. Here the magician demonstrates their magic, causing the image of a young woman to materialize on their breath. Gama Sennin, the Toad Immortal, is based upon the Chinese Immortal Liu Hai, the Sage with the Toad on his back, a benign sage with great magical powers. Kuniyoshi has outdone himself with the cave of Gama Sennin, as all the rocklike outcroppings are comprised of frogs, and a giant frog spectre hovers over the magician. In the center panel, Yoshikado has been consulting a scroll of some sort, and looks up in surprise, his hands in the ‘astonished’ gesture that Kuniyoshi favored. The motivation of the two young people is of course vengeance for a murdered loved one. A scarce design.”

HOW DID RAPPA AND BOOTHILL END UP BEING SO SWEET???
Before 2.6 even dropped, they were being cute! In Rappa's Keeping Up With Star Rail, Boothill describes Rappa's creations as "high-tech ninjutsu" rather than equipment, or machines, or anything else that someone would have normally defaulted to. This is something Rappa is very proud of and insistent about in her work, and he respects that!
Even with those party join lines, he refers to her not as a Galaxy Ranger, but by her chosen title!
Rappa seems to get a lot of shit for how she talks, too, with people throughout the patch accusing her of playing around or not taking anything seriously. Boothill though is swift to correct that, that even if it sounds like nonsense, Rappa is someone to be respected and a force to be reckoned with. He seems to really admire her resolve, and especially her intellect! He has nothing but praise for her, it's so so sweet.
And the way she talks about him, too! Like there are. A lot of things you can say about a man like Boothill fjkdlsajk but she always speaks so admirably of him?
There's also the difference in nicknames- Rappa refers to every other person as "Ninja." And most of them are descriptions that you can pick up at a glance, or without knowing a person too deeply. Singer for Robin is obvious, everyone knows who she is. Gama for Reca means "toad," which is a reference to the assistant director he always has with him. Baseball Bat for the trailblazer is also obvious. Ruri for March 7th means "lapis lazuli" which is probably a reference to her Six Phase Ice, or even her appearance since she looks like if a Stellar Jade became human. Hiryu for Dan Heng is actually "flying dragon" but it's also a famous video game reference so I'm only willing to put so much stock into that one fjkdsjakd and besides, she could have easily heard about March 7th and Dan Heng from Boothill, since he talks about the dango trio to Rappa, too.
But Boothill! Rappa refers to Boothill as "Silvergun Shura," with Shura being a reference to Asura, a demigod of war. It's a name used to describe someone fighting a relentless, inhumane war and desperately seeking victory. It also refers to a level of hell, governed by anger and pain. Both interpretations suit him strongly. It's not really a title you could give just looking at someone. It's something you'd have to know them at least a little more deeply for.
Boothill also very distinctly lacks the common ninja title- instead, in the EN translation, Rappa calls him Lord. It's a highly respectable title even in the original Chinese, apparently akin to addressing reigning royalty.
She just. Seems to respect and admire him so much? It's so so sweet?
And despite how often it's stated that Galaxy Rangers tend to work and travel alone, it seems these two are at least fairly familiar with each other, which makes me really happy! In an instance of beautiful timing, just today Hoyo released a new text convo, and! When she wants someone to hang out with, Boothill was one of the first people Rappa thought of!
Rappa knew Dan Heng because Boothill talked about him. She knew about Clockwork. Boothill has spoken with her often enough and long enough to know how deeply her hatred ran, and to be upset for her when Primon got away.
They both speak so positively of each other, even when one is out of of earshot. They openly show a ton of respect and admiration for one another, and the way they talk about each other is more than just two people who happen to be part of the same faction. They know each other more closely than that. Boothill is only in Penacony at all because of Rappa, and Rappa trusted Boothill enough to seek him out for this.
My favorite, though? The part I considered the cutest?
Rappa literally went all the way to the Luofu just to watch Boothill fight in the Luminary Wardance.

Terravenger Season 6 - The Two Ravens Arc - Episode 498 (Do Not Copy Please) - 01.09.2024
Inside the Training Room at the Midas Academy, the two challengers pounced away from each other and began to battle.
First, the quick Iris appeared before her opponent in mid air. The blue-haired student threw a falling Side Kick using her Left Foot. Ino blocked the strike using both her wrists. And Iris jumped away after performing a diving back-roll.
The pint-sized Ino dived forward in the air and tried to strike using both palms. Her opponent performed a Clockwise Turn and scared away Ino using a smashing Right Heel strike. Iris threw her heel on the ground as Ino pounced away with great speed. And Ino remained away as both her hands were on the ground along with her feet.
Next, Ino performed a high pounce into the air. As she descended, the small blond performed a front roll and tried to strike her close opponent using her Left Heel. Iris evaded the attack by spinning to the right side. Once Ino landed on all fours, the other girl Iris threw a mid Left Side Elbow strike. As she performed a back handspring, Ino had blocked her attacker using her rising Left Foot.
After leaning away, Iris threw out a barrage of quick pokes using both her hands as Ino avoided every strike with her quickness. Then Iris leaned the top of her body away once again. And she performed a spinning sweep using her Left Leg which made Ino fell onto the ground.
Once Ino rolled from her, Iris stood in her battle position which made each hand look like the head of a snake.
Inside the large engine room underneath the Academy, Victoria continued staring at the large screen before her as she gave a confident smile.
"The smaller child," implied Seven of Nine. "She is performing quite admirably against Iris Thomas."
Victoria responded "I was fortunate to bring the two of them to compete in this sparring. Both of them may lack strength. But Iruka and Thomas. They both make up for that weakness using their great speed."
Ino pounced away repeatedly until she crouched on all fours as she remained at the far left side of the battlefield.
"Her positioning," implied Seven of Nine. "The stance of Ino Iruka is very unique from others."
The calm Victoria shook her head and told the engineer "Indeed. It is not by chance that I have choosing the two of them to battle today. Ino Iruka is a capable fighter. But she does not realize how remarkable she truly is."
Terravenger -- Season 6
Episode 498: The Two Ravens -- In the Training Room
Seven of Nine asked "The girl is not fully assured of her own abilities?"
Victoria informed him "Every since she entered our academy, she never believed she had the perfect strength or capability to battle anyone. The main goal of this battle was to raise the spirits of not only Iruka, but other students who think they don't have what it takes to succeed in anything they wish."
Ino continued to jump from the quick pokes from Iris's spear-like hands using her back rolls in the Training Room. And Victoria continued.
"Ino is the younger cousin of our own soldier, Aoi Iruka. Even Officer Iruka has known about her lack of confidence. That is the reason why he and their family insisted to have Ino enroll at the Midas Academy."
The two proctors continued to watch the battle from the large screen as Victoria responded.
"Ino Iruka. She uses the Gamaken Style. Her specialty is to use speed, evasion and maneuvers that are all based on the movements of a toad. She can keep both the momentum and pressure on any enemy by performing rolls, spins, flips, and hops along with certain strikes that the opponent would not see coming. Any strike would range from low to mid."
The quick Ino soon pounced into the air as she called out "Water Release! Spitting Gama!"
Then she blew from her mouth a barrage of medium balls that were made of water. Her opponent Iris swung away her right arm in a crescent pattern which emitted a large block of green-blue smoke. And this cloud of smoke had negated every projectile shot by Ino.
Iris called out "Toxicant Scutum!"
After the last projectile of water melted, the cloud of toxic smoke faded away as Iris gave a relieved smile.
The serene Victoria added "Along with the hand-to-hand techniques and movements, Iruka has learned the nature element Water which many that use the Gameken Style had wielded for many centuries."
As the attendance continued cheering from the sidelines, Iris spat a large stream of acid from her mouth to her opponent in the air.
Iris yelled "Bulla Acidum!"
Ino dived from the burning projectile and landed on all fours near her attacker's right side.
Iris soon blew a large stream of greenish-brown resin from her mouth after calling out "Resinae Muci!"
And Ino created a field of water around herself which negated her opponent's deadly strike.
After she jumped into the air once again, Ino blew out a barrage of bullets that were made of water from her mouth. Iris quickly threw her palms above her. She soon created a large plate of the greenish-brown resin above her which blew from her mouth.
"Resinae Luminum!" yelled Iris.
The shield had blown every bullet from the determined Iris. And Ino began poucing for one spot to another in the air. Meanwhile, Iris had watched her opponent as the blue-haired student thought to herself.
Seven of Nine replied "I can see that Thomas is reverting to forming a strategy."
Victoria folded her arms behind her and commented "Iris Thomas has graced the Midas Academy with her great planning which she shares with more selective students. Only she, Ayr Alistar, Pacey Deacon, and Dilan Carr possess the skill to use their intelligence to either evade or attack any enemy."
Seven of Nine lowered his head and implied "That must be the reason why you and the Commander have always sent her on certain missions. Iris Thomas is able to use a great set of skills in order to win against her opponents and return with minor injuries with her team."
Then the quiet Iris closed her eyes and continued pondering to herself.
Ino pounced from one spot to another as she thought to herself "What is she doing? Is Iris trying to conjure up a plan?"
The blond-haired girl continued her maneuvering while watching Iris who remained still below.
Finally, Iris opened her green eyes and looked straight at Ino who began flying in the air.
Inside the small office at the third floor of Deacon Enterprises, Duo Storms sat at a small desk and read through many paragraphs on the screen of the large white computer.
Duo wore a buttoned white shirt with long sleeves and a thin collar. And wrapped around his collar was a dark-blue tie. He also had on a pair of tight blue jeans and short black boots. And his short burgundy hair was combed back.
The careful youth thought to himself "So far so good. No crap from Meph. I may survive today as long as I stay on task."

Animal allies 🐸 toad
🐸Aka. Sapaktalgi/Sopakvlke(Muskogee), Tak'ya-kwe(zuni), Oma'K'aki (Timahami), Bramble frog, Phryhli, le crapaud, sapo, ropucha, tudse, pad, kröte,
🐸They're probably Eastern American toads (Anaxyrus americanus) of which there are 3 subspecies, Eastern American toad(shown?), Dwarf American toad, and the rare Hudson Bay toad. American toads are native to the Eastern US and Canada. They were once part of the genus "Bufo" before they were Anaxyrus. They look similar to Fowler's and Wood house's toads whose territories overlap with the American toad. They can live up to 30yrs.
Some native American tribes associate toads with witchcraft and disease. For others they may represent a clan. In Haudenosaunee lore toad was one of the animals that tried to bring up earth during the creation myth. The Objibwe hero Iyash became the 1st toad in their lore. In Timahami lore a toad singing in the dark means rain. 🌧️
In parts of Europe, toad also represents witchcraft and disease. Familiars would sometimes take the form of toads who were fed blood by the witch's they serve. Europeans had a charm called a toad stone which said to be in the head above the eyes. The stones were used to protect against poison and healing. They were actually fossilized lepidotes. There was also the "toad bone". This bone was used to control horses and people.
The Han Chinese have a toad or frog called Jin Chan/Chan Chuy or "wealth beckoning frog/money toad/frog". Figurines of them are used in Feng Shui.
In Japan toad is seen as bringing luck, prosperity, transformation, and adaptability. They're associated with Benzaiten and the sage, Gama Sennin rode a giant toad and had them as allies.
Toad venom was used by various cultures as a hallucinagin.
Toads are associated with Hecate.

Madara feels like a deer in front of a predator after Jiraiya speaks. He didn’t think Jiraiya would pick up on it. He honestly thought the other man would admire the craftsmanship, maybe hang it on a wall in his home. Or carry it with him at best.
“Ah-“ Madara feels his face get as hot as Amaterasu’s flame. “Well, in my time it was customary, for an Uchiha to create a fan for their partner. From start to finish … ah to show their talents and knowledge of their partners likes.” He started. “I even sowed some of your toads summons on it … though I’m not sure how accurate they are since I’ve never seen them personally.” He said slowly opening the fan, displayed on the deep blue fabric was stitch work of Gamabunta, Gama and Gamaken. “And they’re at a hot springs.” He added feeling a bit foolish. “Ah it was tradition to make and gift as part of a proposal but it was dying out when I left so I doubt Uchiha were doing so in recent times … I made slots so you can hide knives in it too. It can be pretty and useful. If you plan on carrying it … some people would hang theirs on walls in their home. It ah is like a sign of my commitment to our relationship. Even if we can’t tell people, knowing you have this piece of me is enough.” He said, his cheeks flushing brightly that he had to look away.
“i loved making this for you.” Madara said handing the box to Jiraiya. It had taken a long time for him to sneak into the village, into the old Uchiha district to be able to make this - a traditional Uchiha fan. He doubted Jiraiya would understand the meaning behind it but Madara would. And that was enough for him.
“You didn’t have to make me anything.” Jiraiya was a little humbled by the idea someone like Madara would make him something.
He pulled off the lid and pulled back the wrapping paper. His brows raise in surprise. He picks it up slow and gentle.
“It’s beautiful…” He glances up at Madara. “Is this like a proposal thing?” He asks, his cheeks getting pink.
