Name's hyde :) I'll be posting mostly bg3 related stuff as it's been my obsession for a few months now and it refuses to leave my bird brain. HUGE fan of Gale Dekarios! I decided to make this a pinned post, so you can make yourself familiar with my beloved tav Elias if you wish to follow me! :D

did I start another run with Elias? yes. Meeting his future adopted daughter!!! (again) He should be so much taller than Shadowheart honestly, he's just so... tall in my head yk!! I tried making him with body type 4 but it was way too big for him :( he's taller than Gale too!

perhaps I'll make this a thread of sorts to introduce Eli and his relationships with other companions better! :)

the face Eli pulls whenever Gale starts Galesplaining and just talking in general LMAO!! Elias is a college of lore bard and an eldritch knight fighter, my man knows magic to some extent - by no means is he on Gale's level, but he's not absolutely green in it either! So he humours Gale at first, eventually starts being "playfully" rude about Gale's boasting and then starts straight up calling him out on his little ego-trips, because Elias can't stand the patronizing!! Gale is a huge nerd, we all know, but damn so is Eli - he's just a secret nerd that comes out of hiding whenever Gale starts talking academics and magic. He reciprocates Gale's passive aggression with the same attitude, so they bicker quite a lot... But Gale learns to not look down on others involved with magic (at least not as much as he does in the beginning) and they end up spending all their free time discussing their favourite topics and life overall, finding out they've a lot in common :)

Guardian time! Eli's been suspicious of the dream visitor since the very start - it took the shape of his long gone best friend after all. Back in his teenage years, Elias joined an army to have a bed to sleep in and food to put in his mouth. There, he met a fellow half-elf by the name of Kade: a boy who grew up in the streets, fighting every day to survive. They bonded over their mutual struggle to fit in with humans or elves at first, but their contrasting personalities attracted them to one another and they quickly became comrades. Kade looked after Eli, as he was rather frail in his youth, and showed him the ropes. After roughly ten years of serving together, Kade perished on the battlefield and as a goodbye, he urged Eli to run away, since he never considered Elias suited for a fighter's life. And so Elias deserted, taking only Kade's longsword as a keepsake with him :)

Eli and Wyll! Elias is a middle-aged man, he could kind-of be Wyll's dad and he certainly approaches Wyll with paternal feelings. He just sees this kind young man trying to do the honorable thing and getting punished for it, learns about Wyll's past and just feels like protecting him, instead of having Wyll protect everybody else. He's trying to be the supportive adult figure in Wyll's life during their time together despite having a few disagreements. Of course, he'd never replace Ulder or have the same authority in Wyll's eyes, but he makes sure to be there for Wyll when he needs it :)

heartbreak in a pill incoming...!!! I love Karlach and Eli's relationship so much... They love each other TO BITS. Karlach is his best friend, his platonic soulmate even. They became friends immediately and time only strenghtened and deepend their bond; there are no secrets between them, only trust and love. That's why at first Elias "accepts "Karlach's decision to die once her engine is done for, despite his own desire to keep her alive no matter what. He wants Karlach to feel supported regardless of her choices and let her know he'll be there for her, always, even at the world's end. When the time comes and Wyll tells her to return to Avernus, Eli offers to go with them, so Karlach never feels alone again, but it's her who refuses and tells him to go live his life: there's Gale waiting for him after all. They'll meet again, she promises. And in the meantime, Elias writes songs about Karlach; about her courage, her beauty, her strength, her spirit, so she can still live on in Faerun.

Perhaps they idolize each other a bit too much and lose their mind when the other is in any danger. They're comrades, just like Eli was with Kade. Their reunion is all tears and laughter and endless hugs and alcohol and dance.

HUGS FOR EVERYONE!! Elias' main love language is physical affection, so you'd see him hugging and smooching everyone around the camp on regular basis (head smooches for Shadowheart and cheek smooches for Karlach are the most common). His relationship with Astarion started as physical. They did sleep together, but for Eli it was nothing more than satisfying his urges and curiosity at first, but he grows to care for Astarion!! Just as Astarion grows to care for Eli with no ulterior motives. In the confession scene in act 2, Elias offers Astarion friendship instead, and promises to protect him no matter what and then offers him a hug!! and I think Astarion would accept and gradually become very comfortable with casually touching Elias to show his own affection for the bard!!

Ok I was supposed to send a cute ask about Gale but I honestly NEED him to galesplain things to me as I suck his dick 😭😭

Gale would be trying, white-knuckling the nearest sturdy surface to try and ground himself and finish his thought.

i always find is so weird whenever people say gale brainrotting about magic is him ‘ mansplaining ‘ it to tav. the difference between mansplaining and gales brainrot is that only “alpha-mindset” cismen mansplain to anyone who isn’t a cisman because they think anyone who isn’t a cisman is stupid .

galesplaining is Gale brainrotting to tav over his special interest that he’s dedicated years of his life to and he wants tav to be able to experience it to and he KNOWS they’re smart enough to achieve magic the way he can so he’s inviting them into a piece of his world and you have to be NICE TO HIM

exactly like objectively he’s not mansplaining but ppl love to twist popular words to have a different meaning so they can sound well-informed and progressive. like “galesplaining” you mean his optional expositional monologue 😭 ??

so much of this gale hate is so ableist though like idc that most of it is a joke, he doesn’t talk too much!!!! but bc he’s knowledgeable in magic—his field of study, arguably his special interest—and loves magic so much that he wants to share that knowledge, he’s visibly neurodivergent. so then people clock that very easily and automatically go “oh so this is the character we all bully for ‘talking too much’ and ‘mansplaining’” bc they never unpacked the ableism they were taught growing up. like yeah gale’s a fictional character who can’t be hurt by this shit but how do you think neurodivergent people who enjoy talking at length about their special interests/hyperfixations feel when seeing it? well, it sucks! i feel like a weirdo and an outcast. i feel like even in online spaces i should be staggering my fandom posts so i don’t look like i’m thinking about a piece of media too much, so i don’t come across as annoying. ach, just be careful what you say.
