That Would Be Enough [Chapter 1]//Dragon Age: Inquisition
Fic Name: That Would Be Enough [Chapter 1] Pairing: Cullen Rutherford/Fem!Lavellan Rating: NSFW - language Length: mid-length Status: Ongoing, actively working on Summary: As soon as he was safely out of ear shot, Mia turned to her new sister-in-law and said “He doesn’t know, does he?” It was more of a statement than a question. “Know what?” Galenna asked, feigning innocence though her left hand went straight to her stomach. “You don’t fool me, how far along are you?” Mia asked as his sisters gasped. ao3
Galenna Lavellan groaned as she pulled on her small clothes. Cullen was already downstairs preparing their horses, paying the inn keep. The elven woman ran her hands over her stomach, admiring the small bump there. She was pregnant, she was more than a few months along but not big enough yet where it was terribly noticeable. She hadn’t even told Cullen yet. Ever since she had come back after facing Solas, after losing her arm, he had been fretting over her more than he usually would. The morning sickness, tenderness, and fatigue hadn’t been heping much to relieve his concerns, worried that perhaps Solas did something more to her, or the stress of losing her arm had caused some sort of physical reaction. Currently, they were trying to make it to South Reach with the rest of his family, Cullen having purchased farmland near his family. She didn’t need to add to his concern and stress with a pregnancy now. They weren’t far from South Reach now, once they settled into their new house she could tell him. She heard the door handle begin to giggle and she quickly reached for her shirt, pulling it over her head as fast as possible to cover up the baby bump as Cullen came in. “Are you ready to leave, my love? My sister and the rest were expecting us yesterday, I am sure they are concerned.” He said, folding his proof of payment from the Innkeep and tucking it in his robes. He reached out to his wife who reached towards him as well and kissed him. “Yes, love. Let me pull on my coat.” She said. “Let me help.” He said softly, picking up her coat. She wanted to protest but let him help her anyway. “Thank you.” She said quietly, walked down stairs with him, where he also helped her onto her horse much to her chagrin. They rode for a short a while when Cullen pointed ahead of them. “Look, South Reach, you can see it from here.” He said, sounding excited and nervous. “We’re almost there. I am sure they will be excited to see you.” Galenna assured him, giving him a smile. Cullen felt his cheeks flush a bit seeing her smile and smiled back “I am sure they will be more excited to meet you.” he chuckled before clicking the reigns, his horse continuing down the road, hers following. It wasn’t long after they reached the town of South Reach, and even shorter when they came upon his family’s farm. Cullen helped her off her horse, Galenna flushing when she felt his gloved hand brush her belly, panicking for a second. She didn’t want him to find out before she could tell him. But he still seemed unaware much to her relief. Her feet barely touched the ground when she heard a shrill scream to the right of them, her head snapping almost expecting to them but seeing a tall blonde woman. One of Cullen’s sisters she guessed as more people came outside, all of them varying shades of blonde. Varying levels of excitement all of them following the woman who ran to Cullen and hugged him, almost crying. Lavellan stood back for a moment and watched as the Rutherford family greeted their long lost brother, uncle, son, nephew. He was so many things to his family. “Everyone, I am so happy to see you all again. And I am happy to introduce to you my wife, Galenna Rutherford.” he said, reaching out for her hand and presenting her to his family. Galenna had literally faced down a Darkspawn Magister who thought he was a god, and that was less scary than this. She had been a bit a nervous about how humans would accept her as his wife, especially his own family. But as she began to worry, the first woman pulled her in for a hug, the rest of the Rutherford’s following suit. So far okay, a little much because there was so many of them. “I’m Mia.” The first woman said, her blonde hair falling in curly tendrils around her face which looked surprised when she pulled away from Galenna, only momentairly though, she had the same brown eyes as Cullen, her pink lips curling in a sweet smile. “Come, come inside. Lunch will be ready in a moment, and then we have a surprise for the two of you.” She said, shooing the entire family and Lavellan inside the small house. Somehow most of the family fit in the house, some of them decided to hang out outside, mostly the men doing some work around the house, most of the kids went to play outside as well. They spent a few minutes telling his family about their wedding, to which most of his sisters complained about now being able to be there. “So how soon will you be having kids?” Mia asked as she worked on lunch. “We don’t plan to have them soon.” Cullen chuckled, flushing a bit “We did just get married, and Galenna has been through a lot recently. I think it's best for us to settle in for a bit.” “Yeah….” Galenna agreed quietly, tugging at the hem of her shirt. Mia stopped stirring the pot she had been working with and turned to Cullen “You know, this could use more milk. Would you go get a pail of Milk from the barn?” She asked. “You want me to milk a cow?” He asked, raising a brow. “Yes, you didn’t forget how did you?” she asked putting her hands on her hips. “I may have.” “Poor Galenna then.” Mia replied. Cullen flushed “What does that mean?!” “Nothing, go ask one of the kids for help.” She said, shooing him out of the room, his other sisters giggling as they sat at the table. As soon as he was safely out of ear shot, Mia turned to her new sister-in-law and said “He doesn’t know, does he?” It was more of a statement than a question. “Know what?” Galenna asked, feigning innocence though her left hand went straight to her stomach. “You don’t fool me, how far along are you?” Mia asked as his sisters gasped. “You’re pregnant?!” One of them asked excitedly. “You haven’t told him yet?!” Another asked. They all began talking at the same time so it became hard to make out their questions. “Woah, woah. Calm down. Y-yes, I’m pregnant...I’m a few months, I think. I haven’t told him yet. I didn’t want to stress him out. Recent events, its just not a good time.” Galenna said “When would it be a good time?” Mia asked, sitting next to Galenna and taking her hand “He needs to know.” “I know, soon. He will know soon, I promise.” She said as Cullen came back in the room, sensing the change to the vibe. “What’s going on?” He asked, setting a metal pail on the table. “Nothing, I was just telling Galenna about the time you asked mother if women were part cow because they also had utters.” “I did not do that!” He argued, flushing deeply, Mia smirking. Galenna laughed, Cullen sitting down next to her. “Everything okay?” he asked, kissing her cheek. “Yes, it’s perfect.” She said softly. “You two will be staying in our spare room while they build your new house.” Mia said as she mixed in the ingredients she needed. “I’m sorry, while they build our house? I thought there was a house on the land already…?” Galenna asked, looking at the others. “Ah, there was, but the wood was infested and weak. So I suggested they knock it down and we build our own house.” Cullen said casually. “And you didn’t tell me?” Lavellan asked, trying to keep her voice from sounding irritated. “Well, I didn’t think it would be an issue, what’s wrong?” “I--...It’s nothing.” She said “It’s just a surprise that’s all.” Galenna muttered weakly “Excuse me, I am feeling sick to my stomach.” She blurted out suddenly and got up from the table, going outside. She sputtered, throwing up in the bushes beside the house. Some of the Rutherford kids near by made disgusted sounds, a little girl approaching her “Are you alright, new Auntie?” she asked, putting a gentle hand on Galenna’s back and rubbing it. “Y-yes. Just an upset stomach.” She replied to the girl. “Do you want me to get Uncle?” The girl asked. “No need, I am here.” Cullen said appearing behind them. He knelt down next to the girl “How about you go play, sweet heart? I will help her.” He said softly, giving her a warm smile. “Okay, but if you need more help I can get my mom!” She said before running off to go play. Cullen reached out, his hand replacing the girl’s on her back. “I apologize, I should have told you about the change in plans. I was planning on making it a romantic surprise, the two of us get to build whatever house we like now.” He said softly. “I-it’s fine, Cullen, really.” She said, kneeling down in the dirt. “It’s just--I had a surprise too, y’know--and now--” Tears started to form in her eyes, Dammit. Don’t cry, you’re being ridiculous. She told herself. Cullen reached out, his thumb wiping away her tears. “Hey, it is okay, nothing is ruined. We’ll have the house in a few months, then it will be just the two of us.” he said gently. “No, Cullen, you don’t--you don’t understand...I was waiting until we had our house to tell you--but its ruined now. I--” She choked a bit as she sobbed. “Darling, it’s okay, we don’t need a house for whatever surprise you have planned. I am sure it is a wonderful gift.” “It’s more than a g-gift!” She wailed. “Love, please take a deep breath, everything is okay--” “N-no, it’s not! We don’t even have a house, and I-I’m pregnant, Cullen!” she blurted out through her tears. She felt him freeze “You’re what?” he asked in a breathy voice. “I’m having a b-b-b-baby!” She sputtered before suddenly, it came out before she cold stop it. Vomit. All over his stomach and lap. Well, shit. She thought to herself.

Later in life, Andraste proved predictions wrong and had two daughters by the Betrayer: Ebris and Vivial. They were kept out of the public eye and not permitted to marry, though both had consorts. Ebris had but one child, Alli Vemar, who perished on a voyage to Denerim—less than a month after her mother fell to plague, and without children of her own. The younger daughter, Vivial, was more controversial: a strong-headed woman who defied her family by falling in love with a mage of Tevinter, Regulan. Vivial and Regulan went into self-imposed exile as the Exalted March began, and into hiding following Andraste's betrayal and murder.
What became of Vivial and her descendants is largely unknown for one primary reason: she had only daughters. Each of those daughters only had daughters. They married into other families and took other names, and in the chaos of the Second Blight, all traces of survivors were lost. Andraste's true bloodline, if it exists, lies solely in the descendants of Vivial, and the suspicion of my order is that it produces only daughters. Thus the claims of your young man, monsieurs, are highly suspect.
—From a letter by Sister Galenna of the Augustan Order, Dragon 9:12
From the codex entry: The Children of Andraste
Much as I don’t want it to be true (I’m still desperately clinging to the “Andraste was a regular human mage who did everything through her own power and the maker had nothing to do with it” theory) this seems to point to the Andraste = Flemythal theory... a bloodline that ONLY produces daughters, and the witches of the wild are ALWAYS female, flemeth ONLY has daughters...
#bleah i just think thats so boring really... like its such an easy plot twist#and lemme guess i bet shartan is actually... SOLAS... lol#andraste#flemeth#mythal#dragon age theory#txt

In the very beginning of the game we see a girl named Senua who is going to hell to save the soul of his boyfriend named Dillion. She believes Dillion and everyone in her village suffered and died because of her darkness ,and Hell Queen Hela is torturing Dillion’s soul. Senua’s mother Galenna also had that darkness and committed suicide when Senua was a child to save others from her darkness. But more we play the game more truth behind this darkness’s story starts to reveal in a great way. Actually Senua is a mental patient who is suffering from severe psychosis and is dealing with the loss of her beloved Dillion. Who was killed by the Northmen Tribe! Since she suffers from hallucinations, it’s difficult to trust what you see. The whole story twists and turns as you move forward, taking down demons, overcoming obstacles, and finally coming face to face with what lies in the center of it all. The end tells a lot about Senua, so it’s important to sit back and really take it in. Senua’s father is a very religious man who kept her locked in a room full of runes so it makes sense that during her tribulation, her psychosis would use those same runes and stories to guide her along. Her father believes, to save everyone from her darkness all these stuffs should be done. Her father was not a good man and he force her to believe that she have a darkness that’s why people are dying in her village. In fact he willingly sold his own people to northmen , just to save himself. Senua starts to remember something she buried in her mind long ago, the death of her mother. Throughout the game, it’s said that Senua’s mother killed herself in order to spare those around her from her darkness. Like Senua, she suffered from psychosis, and many saw it as a curse that brought about bad tidings. Deaths, storms, bad luck, and more were believed to be caused by her. Yet, Senua's mother didn’t kill herself, though she did try very hard to not have people suffer. Instead, it was Senua’s father who led the villagers, as they burned her alive as if she were a witch. It was what the gods demanded. This memory of her mother’s death brings other thoughts rushing back as well. How her father abused her mother, kept Senua locked up and terrified, convinced her that she was cursed and that all bad things happened because of her. How it was all due to the gods and he was just trying to protect her. A rage builds up inside her and she believes that Hela is actually her father and she goes to face her. She starts to go through all the stages of grief as she moves to confront the last demon holding her love Dillion hostage. Her anger is at its highest as Hela sits over her, just staring blankly, but that eventually descends into her pleading for Dillion, her lost love, and willing to give up herself. In the end, she chooses to just accept her fate as Hela drives her sword into Senua’s chest. Senua is dead, after vowing to not let her father take her life or have any further control over her it is done. We next see Hela, holding Dillion’s skull that Senua carried throughout the entire game, staring into its empty sockets. It’s not until Senua dies, though, that Hellblade’s story all comes together. As Hela sits there with the skull, she’s no longer in Helheim. And it appears as if she is crying — not something you’d expect since at one point Senua was convinced that Hela was her father in some form. At least it seemed that way. As the final cutscene continues, Hela walks to the edge of the platform she’s on and lets the skull fall to never be seen again. As the camera pans away from the skull and back to Hela, we see Senua sitting there, beaten down, but far from defeated. It turns out that Hela was Senua deep down inside and that makes a lot of sense. Hela rules Hel in Norse mythology, and that’s the world that Senua’s psychosis created so it only makes sense that she would be its ruler, knowingly or not. While it was the loss of Dillion and her father’s abuse that drove Senua to this state in Hellblade, it was ultimately her who created this hell for herself. Her grief and the fact that she blamed herself for everything that transpired in her life caused her to turn inward and lock herself down. The voices she hears, a maddening part of her psychosis, pull her thoughts back and forth leaving her confused which made matters even worse. But, thanks to Dillion’s lessons from when he was alive, and that you hear repeated through Hellblade’s story, Senua slowly came to realize that she had to triumph over herself, that only she could escape the dark twisted world of her mind. During the fight with Hela and the discarding of the skull, Senua finds acceptance. Yes Dillion is gone, and yes her father is a large source of her pain, but she realizes that she must be strong and move on. She relied heavily on Dillion before he passed, but that’s no way to live. One must be strong alone as well and Hellblade’s story taught her that even though it was a nightmare to get through. While the voices in her mind left before the fight with Hela, they have returned at the end. Psychosis isn’t something so trivial that it can be miraculously cured, that’s just unrealistic. However, it shows that Senua has found new strength that she will use going forward. Before it ends, Senua asks us, the players, to follow her on her new adventure. One that we pray is free from the demons she fought so valiantly to overcome.

Galenna was halfway finished with her History of Fanfiction extra-credit assignment (to read the entirety of My Immortal in a single night) when a tall woman appeared soundlessly behind her.
"Welcome back, 'Mione," Galenna mumbled sleepily. By now, she was more than used to her roommate's utter disdain for the common door.
"Miss Okami? Miss Galenna Eris Proserpine Okami?"
Galenna whirled around, startled, nearly falling out of her practical black swivel chair. A woman whom she had never met stood behind her. In a moment, Galenna's sharp eyes assessed the newcomer - tall, blonde, business casual dress, irritated/worried look on her face. From the descriptions she had received from her spastic sister (and from the photographs clutched in the woman's hand) Galenna knew this could only be one person: Rune's roommate, Pepper Potts.
"Ah, Miss Potts. I apologize for asking you to meddle in business which probably has nothing to-"
Pepper cut her off. "Miss Okami - do you mind if I call you Galenna - what do you know about this man?"
Galenna shrugged. "He's in my Life Drawing class - i-it's one of the requirements for the Fanfiction major, r-really, it's not like I'm taking it for fun or anything - and his behavioral patterns are incredibly bizarre. He refuses to give out his real name, referring to himself as such nicknames as 'Your New Leader' or 'Emperor of Mankind'. He also appears to be a Norse mythology buff, as he called himself King of Earth and Asgard. He shows no respect for anyone in the class, not even Professor Harkness. He has b-" She cut herself off before she could mention anything about the mysterious boy's NOT AT ALL ATTRACTIVE eyes.
"Thank you for your assistance. I will say that your instinct was correct. Subject L0K1 is a very dangerous individual. You would be wise to steer clear of him."
With that, Pepper disappeared, leaving Galenna wondering if she hadn't dreamed the whole thing. Oh well, the elder Okami thought, and went back to her homework.
Aboard the Catbus on the way back to Spearmint University, Pepper pulled out her cell phone.
"Professor Fury? Put in a call to Saint-Just. We're going to need his assistance."

So you understand your assignment, Rune? I've got pictures of the guy as well as all three aliases he's used in class so far (Your New Ruler, Emperor of Existence, Lord of Asgard and Earth). You get these to Super Spy Potts and see what she makes of this guy - and if she's heard of him before, if she knows his real name, anything about him. He should be right up her alley.
....No, I'm asking for information on this guy because I think he's a dangerous egomaniac and potential psychopath who might try to take over the world or, more importantly, the university. NOT because he has beautiful green eyes.
What, no, I didn't notice what color his eyes were! I just...Looked at one of those pictures I took for you to give to Pep.
I DO NOT THINK HE HAS BEAUTIFUL EYES

Dear diary,
I have never dreaded a class so much in my life.
Life Drawing. What has that got to do with a Fanfiction major, really? The syllabus claims that it's to improve the accuracy of our writing. Our first homework assignment - I'm sure over half of the students in the class are whining about "what sort of teacher assigns homework due the first day of class" - is a list of words never to use to describe the male genitalia.
Note to self: never let Rune get her hands on this.
Although "yogurt cannon" is quite amusing.
Maybe there is some hope for this course after all. Professor J. Harkness....at least he SOUNDS professional.

Hello, Galenna here. Apologies that it took me so long to introduce myself here....I was doing homework. To be honest, I wouldn't be doing this blog if it didn't qualify as an extra-curricular assignment for Self-Insert class.
My name is Galenna Eris Proserpine Okami. Just Galenna, please. Don't call me Lenna. Just....don't. I am the (slightly) older sister of Dairunima "Rune" Okami.
I am a freshman at Astral University. It used to be called Hope's Star University, before that name received some...unfortunate associations with one of the high schools in the area. It is a high-pressure high-intensity high-achievement university for students in the top of their fields.
I am a double major in Fanfiction and Legal Studies (concentration Laws of Fiction) with a minor in Squee.
I'm not a very interesting person. There's not much else to say about me.
