Hitagi had never been particularly interested in "small talk".

Talk in general, in fact, was never her cup of tea. Such petty discussions, she thought, should be saved for people who could respond properly. Alas, she was aware of her position at all times - she was not one of those people. Her fear of having her secret always resulted in her cornering of herself. At this point, any human interaction seemed threatening and foreign to her.

She clenched her fists slightly as she walked past the stranger in the street.

Still in her school uniform, she began to hurry home under the approaching darkness of the evening. Where had she even been the whole day? She couldn't think properly of how exactly she had been spending her day - that was just how great her paranoia was. 

Silently, she wished that no small talk would be made.
