Alright, almost ALL of my Dragonriders of Pern setting character designs! Most of these are my characters, but there's a bunch from my partner, and from a few friends! Had a lot of fun playing with colors and design and trying to make each one look like a distinct character, while also keeping a family resemblance between the siblings in the line up! It's been a lot of work but I think I did what I set out to!
I still need to work on making my posing less stiff, but I'm pretty happy with the whole effort! Most of these were drawn in 2023.
(That said, ugh, I don't know why tumblr gives a pixelated white edge to my pngs when I post them...)
Please do NOT repost this. Reblogs are fine!

Found this cute picrew and I've been meaning to share more about my ocs, so here's Trislen Esharr and Gabril Oromanche, long terms lovers and mutual servants of aspects of the Faerunian sun god, Amaunator and Lathander respectively. Both joined the church following a pilgrimage to Elturel to see the Companion, believed to be Amaunator's gift to the people of the city.
That would of course turn out not to be the case.

a Review - You
*major spoiler warning*
Oh, holy, holy, holy fuck.
Up until the last 30 minutes or so of the last episode, I was convinced that You Season 3 could be crowned the most disappointing season of all but lo and behold, this season was a Fucking Masterpiece.
Tumblr media
Season 3 picks up a couple of months after season 2 with the birth of his baby, and just like any other season, the story starts off at a new place - a wealthy suburban area called Madre Linda - only, we start off with the same characters: Joe and Love. The cliffhanger of Season 2’s Mysterious Blonde Neighbour - surprise, it wasn’t his mom or Blake Lively/Serena van der Woodsen - turns out to be killed in episode one when Love quickly picks up on her husband’s unsurprising but disappointing infidelity. The next few episodes dig a different path from the previous ones; Joe’s main obsessive crush develops later and there is a tighter dynamic focus between Love and Joe.
Tumblr media
The rest of the season is told from a different lens from seasons 1 and 2; Joe is still the main narrator but the story expands to a larger and more diverse cast, as well as Love’s growing impulsivity, Matthew’s persistence in finding his wife’s murderer, and the shallow yet comedic dynamic of the people in Madre Linda. And while I wasn’t always a fan of the pacing, the season manages to pull it off quite effortlessly; so much is invested into each individual character and their thoughts, creating a fresher and equally unpredictable story as the other two seasons.
I also felt like this season was the closest to the book. At a deeper exploration of Joe’s traumatic childhood, the light in his pattern of women is clearer - surprise, mommy issues! - but the novelty of his self-analysis isn’t generous to the issue of repetition and self-justification for the viewers. I’m still not sure if it was the lacking chemistry between Joe and Marianne or how expectingly forced the sudden crush was (or even the are you flirting with me? you are flirting with me a moment) that felt unconvincing and a mere tool for the final build-up.
Tumblr media
As previously mentioned, this season latches more onto Love’s perspective without neglecting Joe’s story. However, even with the perfect amount of screentime and plot line, the story continues to treat her as a side character; in addition to a deeper focus on psychological exploration, I think the show could have benefitted more if the narration had a power struggle between Joe and Love, teasing a potential story shift from Joe to Love that could have drawn a deeper impact in Love’s murder.
In conclusion, here are some of the Most Memorable Moments of season 3:
- Taylor Swift and Bon Iver’s ‘Exile’ as Joe walking out of the house as it exploded. This is the scene that changed EVERYTHING. From the music to Joe covering up his act to Sherry desperately searching for the key to Love and her suicide letter… favorite scene of the entire show, hands down.
- Joe finally doing one selfless act and giving up Henry to Dante and his husband for a much more healthy and normal environment. Sure, the kid will learn that his mother was a suburban wife-kill-innocent-husband cliche and the build up between him and Joe feels wasted, but I guess it’s the best end for a baby.
- The bathtub scene between Love and Forty where he tells her that he is her soulmate. I cried a bit. This scene made me realize that I do wish that the show focused more on the repercussions of their actions and how grief hits the people around the victim, but I suppose because this is narrated by two killers who justify every action, that’s out of the picture.
- Love killing Natalie within the very first episode; Natalie really didn’t deserve it but it was definitely in character for Love and completely swung (lol) out of nowhere when the entire season anticipation was building up around her.
- The MYSTERY. The first few episodes adopt a Dostoesvkian change of narration; nothing is better than an ominous, murder-vibe American suburban story - and the first half of the season is exactly that.
- Joe’s monologue. Never fails to entertain.
Tumblr media
- Victoria Pedretti. Absolutely obsessed with her and her performance. Perfect comedic timing to perfect switch up to a convincing impulsive and unpredictable serial killer.
- Sherry Conrad - and the depiction of the rest of the ensemble’s story of arc and response.
Albeit the slower pace, Season 3 of You manages to stay on its feet with a story as exciting and enthralling as the previous two seasons. The story does an excellent job of setting up high-stakes and unpredictable plotlines, and though I am definitely disappointed we won’t be seeing any more of Victoria Pedretti/Love Quinn,  I am definitely excited for the direction Season 4 will take.

Unlike most of her friends in the 80s who covered their walls with posters of bands, Julia Khodabandeh plastered hers with posters of rockets and fighter jets.
