Downtown Rome continues to ‘roll out the red carpet’ for ACC Tournament visitors. Signs are all over Broad St. with local businesses and restaurants welcoming visitors. It’s down to the final two days of the tournament with semifinal matchups today and championship matches on Sunday.
Today’s schedule/men

The semifinal matchups for the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Championship are set after posted wins in Friday’s quarterfinal round. Top-seeded Wake Forest advanced to face No. 4 Georgia Tech on Saturday, while No. 2 Virginia and No. 3 North Carolina are set to meet in the other semifinal slot, which are both set to start at 10 a.m. All four teams earned a double-bye heading into Friday’s quarterfinal matches. The Cavaliers and Tar Heels are set for a rematch of the 2016 ACC Championship semifinals. Virginia edged North Carolina by a 4-3 decision. Earlier this season the Demon Deacons maintained their perfect conference record when they defeated the Yellow Jackets, 5-2.
Semifinal coverage on ACC Network Extra is set from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. with Shawn Kenney handling play-by-play. ESPN announcer Prim Siripipat will handle color commentary and Melanie Newman will serve as the sideline reporter. Newman is an alumni of Troy University and covered tennis within their media relations office. She also previously served as a sideline reporter for ASUN conference. Siripipat attended Saddlebrook Preparatory School, where she trained with Jennifer Capriati, Andy Roddick, Martina Hingis and Mardy Fish. She traveled the world with the U.S. National team and eventually finished in the top 10 in the country for players aged 18 and under. She attended Duke on a full scholarship.
