anon i'm afraid i'm unfamiliar with like, 70% of these. so i can't "rate" them other than based on their looks. instead of a scale of 1 to 10 you're getting my thoughts on their designs as i am notoriously bad at Ranking Things. and some babbling overall. enjoy

starting off with Bayonetta angels. Holy shit. the range.... monster-looking ones? humanoids? ships??? cars????? the flesh inside those gold and marble shells??? love them, quite horrifying and majestic at once.

Evangelion! cool stuff. always love some strange organic shapes for angels, and the very geometric ones are pretty interesting as well

Diablo. i like the tendril-like wings. the lack of a visible face is pretty cool as well..

i... i'm assuming you're talking about the 2010 movie "Legion". no comment on this one.

i'm not really sure what "Classic Bible Accurate Angels" would entail. if you're pedantic enough, you can argue that the cherubim and ophanim in Ezekiel's vision aren't exactly "angels" in the literal sense of the word. malakim/messengers/angels could appear as pretty much human. either way, the celestial being category is quite fascinating

my jaw dropped when i saw the Angelarium website. the designs?? the drawings themselves???? the writing as well. obsessed with this???? hello....... Definitely quite majestic

DOOM. huh. that's a pretty interesting looking alien behind that armor. i'm assuming the angel comparison works in the game's context

ULTRAKILL! yay! Gabriel and the Council's armor are pretty cool, and i like the virtues too (their concept art is so good!!!). hope we get to see more angels in the future.

ahhhhg they're both so cool. love how Death is a sphynx. i can't tell if they're exactly supposed to be angels (saw the Woodsprite called a "fairy" somewhere?), but the motifs are so good regardless

Dark Souls. ojh wow. i think these are the most disturbing on this list, i love them. taking organic shapes to another level.... they remind me of mycelia.... huge win for horrifying angel nation

i wasn't really sure what to focus on with Shin Megami Tensei. the angel enemy itself (poor thing went through a lot, design wise)? the divine demon class as a whole (a... lot of characters to look at)? so i went with the archangels. their SMT IV versions are great, the ornate and quite organic-looking shapes put them on the majestic end of the spectrum for me

@star-that-howls the show was overshadowed by spn, and the fandom is extremely niche, scattered. very few antis ( usually ), and you can pretty much ship everybody with everybody ( except uriel ). despite the plot holes and revised material, its still cheesy as hell & extremely fun. ask me anything about it & i'll be able to give you a good explanation

Legion ( 2010 ) is the loose prequel film to Dominion's ( 2014-2015 ) television show. God becomes disillusioned with humanity and plans to wipe them out. Given numerous chances and squandered them all. Of five archangel children, He enlists his youngest sons, the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, to kickstart the apocalypse by killing a chosen child.

One that much later plays a pivotal role.

Michael, having seen the goodness and faith humanity holds, defies his Father. He breaks the halo keeping him to Heaven ( a metal collar ), and cuts off his wings. Choosing to side with humans against his heavenly kin.

Demanding the babe be given up, God tests the inhabitants of a diner in which Michael finds himself. The "site zero" of the apoc, and the child's birthplace. Born to a mother whose husband left her, and a man who selflessly loved the woman with all he had, even though she may not love him back. The dogs of heaven and all manner of pestilence assailed them.

Through the ultimate sacrifice, Michael goes against his own brother. Gabriel arrives with the sounding of his horn and the breaking of the seventh seal, the gates of Heaven close for good. Their Bond is broken, their connection severed. They, in this universe, redefined what it means to be loyal to a cause. The extremes some are willing to make.

The child yet survives as the world crumbles. Michael dies, but is soon resurrected.

Gabriel's hordes swept across the surface of the earth, bringing the 21st century to a standstill. His minions lacked their own bodies, so their first line of defense were to steal ours. They were, again, the angels of the Lower Sphere. With grotesque, black-veined skin, sharpened teeth and wicked intent. Brother turned on brother, friend on friend, and so on, and so forth.

Pockets of survivors fought back, but losses grew. Over the next five or so years, more than six billion lives were lost. In late 2018, an assault on the eastern seaboard wiped out every heavy metropolitan area. Communications with Europe went completely dark in 2022, with Russia and the rest of Asia the year after.

In his blind arrogance and misguided belief that humans were the root cause of God's disappearance, Gabriel underestimated what mankind was capable of. Small battles devolved into guerilla retreats in the southwestern United States. From the northwest and east, all able-bodied fighters were spearheaded under General Edward Riesen, who marched towards Hoover Dam.

Split between the angel army, Riesen ordered his troops to envelop their enemy. A last stand by cracking the Dam's foundations. Deaths were severe, less than a billion, roughly sixteen thousand after triumph. Altering the landscape in a deluge, they had ended Gabriel's ability to wage large-scale war, and Riesen was awarded accordingly. Retiring to Las Vegas as a Lord, he renamed the city to Vega, appointing Michael as protector, rebuilder and advisor. 

Twenty five years' worth of climbing from the ashes yielded a new hope. Rumor had it that Michael has saved the child and placed them within the confines of Vega's V-System. Waiting for the time to reveal the savior and have them inherit God's Markings -- a last message left by the deity.

One that would guide humanity to coexist with the angels, or destroy them all outright.

Archangel Gabriel (2007 movie Gabriel) - His actor died tragically at a very young age. I thought his performance was amazing and I wouldn't want to use any other FC, but at the same time, I just feel it's inappropriate to use images of him, out of respect for his family. I actually had an OC that I used him for and have since changed to another actor because I felt uncomfortable using his images going forward.

Alice Abernathy (Resident Evil, Anderson films) - As much as I adore her, I don't feel I understand her well enough nor could I get her "voice" down well enough to write her to my own standards.

Fran (Final Fantasy XII) - I'm not sure I could write her well enough, but also she's in a totally different circle of characters than all my other FFXII muses, so she'd feel a bit isolated and extraneous if I added her to that blog. Also, she's kindof joined at the hip to Balthier, whom I know I could never write properly in a million years, heh.

Eyal Lavine (TV show Current Affairs) - I've wanted to write him for years now, but with certain things going on in the news, writing an Israeli Mossad agent just isn't the best thing to do right now, I feel. I would constantly worry about offending people or being dragged into political conversations relevant to real world events that I really don't want to get into on my blogs.

Yuna (Final Fantasy X) - To bring her to this site would be an impossible amount of new added activity for me. The FFX fandom is a lot larger than FFXII and I'd be afraid of too much activity or even those with muses from other FF games wanting to write with her. I just can't add a popular character right now. if anything, I need to be downsizing, heh.

The town of Silent Hill (Silent Hill game franchise, 2006 movie Silent Hill, 2012 movie Silent Hill: Revelation) - It's just too complicated and would require too much startup time and effort for me to manage right now. But I am keeping it in mind for the future!

Ned Stark (ASoIaF book series / GoT TV show) - Ned only survived Season 1 (actually, technically, he didn't even survive that). So much happened in subsequent Seasons, and now we've got HotD too. I stopped reading after the third book and stopped watching after the third Season, so... I'm way behind on the world, the lore, the characters, the countries, the Houses, etc. I wouldn't feel that I'm coming from enough of a place of knowledge to write Ned, even though I really adore him and would love to. And someone like him, who was in positions of power, would have that knowledge, he'd know about the major and minor Houses and the politics and the history, etc., so it would affect my portrayal of him to not know all of that myself.

Ygritte (ASoIaF book series / GoT TV show) - Kindof the same problem as Ned, although Ygritte survived a bit longer... but also I'm just not sure how relevant she'd be to most characters other people in the fandom would write. As a wildling, she was somewhat isolated from much of the plot and other characters of the world. Also, I'm afraid of Jon Snows everywhere just wanting to ship with her, heh, since I really hated that ship, personally.

The White Queen (Resident Evil, Anderson films) - Her FC is a child, and as much as I liked the character, the way I developed her was to add an OC origin muse for her that used the same actress as an FC. After a certain point, I just felt like I was doing something wrong by using a child FC and didn't feel comfortable doing it anymore.

Luther West (Resident Evil, Anderson films) - I liked Luther, he was pretty cool, and since I write a lot of other RE muses, he'd fit right in. The only reason I stopped writing him was because hardly anyone was interested in him, so it became too much to keep maintaining his blog if no one wanted to write with him.

The Creature (2004 mini-series Frankenstein) - I've always liked Adam, I read the original Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and I've seen various movies and mini-series on the subject. I like this specific version because the actor who played him is a favorite of mine, but also it was fairly faithful to the book as well. The reason I stopped was because I felt I wasn't writing him up to my own standards, but I'd be willing to give it another try.

legion (2010) dir. scott stewart is truly the most jewish of all "apocalyptica" movies. michael shearing off his own wings because he refuses to wipe out humanity. michael being resanctified because he "gave G-d what he needed" whereas gabriel gave him "what he wanted". also the concept that michael's knowledge and power is just. passed onto some random dude from bumfuck nowhere who loved a woman and was dedicated to her kid. screams of abraham to me.
