G.I. Joe PSA

Context: D20 Modern and a little bit of Mutants and Masterminds used together to make a G.I. Joe campaign, and there is one player who is sitting idle outside the mall that Cobra is using as a secret base.

DM: Roll a spot check.

Player: Ok. *rolls 14*

DM: You see two kids in a car playing with a lighter.

Player: I’m going to do the classic thing and roll up in the tank and pop out the top to talk to them.

DM: Ok, what do you say? Also, make a perception check for me while this is going on.

Player: I will run through the classic education spiel and make sure to end it off with “Remember, kids, don’t play with fire!”. Also that’s a 17 on perception.

DM: Ok, while this all is going on, you saw two Hiss tanks roll into a compartment into the Sears, but you can’t quite tell where they rolled into from here, kinda like a secret compartment opened up and they disappeared.

Player: I am going to turn my tank at the Sears and fire.

Player 2 (me): So let me get this straight, you just finished telling kids not to play with fire, and as soon as you finish, you just turn and open fire?

Player: Heck yeah. *whole table is busting up laughing at this idea*
