NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JULY 21: Rakim performs during the "Dj Cassidy's Pass the Mic Live" at Radio ... [+] City Music Hall on July 21, 2023 in New York City. (Photo by Richard Bord/Getty Images)Getty Images
Set to release his fourth solo album in 15 years, hip-hop luminary Rakim Allah is making a return to the hip-hop cipher.
Although 15 years have elapsed since the God MC’s last solo project, his stance remains interwoven in the fabric of hip-hop culture, ensuring he has never truly left the scene.
Tumblr media
Two weeks ago (May 16), Masta Killa of Wu-Tang Clan took to Instagram and posted an image with Kurupt and Rakim, announcing the upcoming release of a single featuring the three renowned lyricists. Though Masta Killa did not reveal the single's name, he shared it would come from the “#GODSNETWORK” and instructed followers to remain attentive.

On Friday (May 24), Matthew Markoff, a markerting A&R for the project, announced on Instagram the solidification of a contract with Rakim for the release of his fourth studio album, G.O.Ds Network (REB7RTH).
Set for a worldwide release on July 26, there will also be a special edition released as a six-inch A and B side vinyl, with “REB7RTH” on one side and “Love is the Message” on the other. This special edition, limited to 500 pieces, will feature an array of hip-hop heavyweights such as Masta Killa, Kurupt, Nipsey Hussle, Snoop Dogg, Planet Asia, as well as seasoned creatives including Sally Green, Louis King, Kobe Honeycutt, Summer Yuki, and more.
The debut single from the album, “Rebirth (N.M.A.),” also produced by the “I Ain’t No Joke” lyricist, featuring Masta Killa and Kurupt, is set to drop next month on June 21, coinciding with the web and pre-order launch. Kurupt shared the single’s official cover on Instagram Friday (May 24), confirming the coming of Rakim’s new album. “July 26th - ‘Rebirth’ Rakim new album…Produced by Tha God Mc himself,” the caption noted.

The album is thoroughly produced by Rakim Allah, with Markoff also serving as an executive producer.
G.O.Ds Network (REB7RTH) marks Rakim’s first solo effort since 2009. He transformed the landscape of rap in 1987 with Eric B. on Paid In Full, and the duo went on to shape the Golden Era of rap with three additional albums: Follow The Leader (1988), Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em (1990), and Don’t Sweat The Technique (1992), all deemed classics of the Golden Era.
Rakim’s solo debut came in 1997 with The 18th Letter, featuring production from Pete Rock, DJ Premier, DJ Clark Kent, Father Shaheed of Poor Righteous Teachers, and more. It debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and went certified Gold. In 1999, he quickly followed up with his second solo album, The Master, which includes the DJ Premier-produced standout single, “When I B on tha Mic." Afterward, Rakim took a 10-year hiatus before releasing The Seventh Seal in 2009, the first project on his record label Ra Records.
Throughout the years, Rakim has made guest appearances on unapologetic rap songs including G-Dep’s 2001 track “I Am” with Kool G Rap, the 2003 Dr. Dre-produced Jay-Z track “The Watcher 2,” Lloyd Banks’ 2006 song “You Know the Deal,” and he even added a surprise verse on Linkin Park’s 2014 track “Guilty All the Same.”
With his latest performance alongside Slum Village and Talib Kweli at Panic in L.A., the hip-hop luminary has been making his presence felt in the culture. He narrated a Bronx history video for the New York Yankees' opening season, and last month, he joined DJ Jazzy Jeff and Ravi Coltrane for a showcase at the Kennedy Center. As hip-hop enters its 51st year and Rakim makes a comeback, it's safe to conclude that hip-hop was never a fad and is bound to continue dominating and persisting as not only a music genre but a culture.

Graham Coxon Allegations Masterpost
LINKS TO EVERYTHING ARE BELOW
This is a masterpost of the accusations around Graham and how they came to be. In late Oct/November of 2021 an account with the handle @/britpopabuse showed up on Instagram. The account posted screenshots from a gossip message board about celebrities and several mentioned Graham Coxon as someone they had known as publicly cheating on his wife and kid. Another user claimed that she had been in a relationship with him at one point. Another claim posted separately by coxonexpose, that is less verified, alleged that SA happened between her and Graham.
In each part are videos, images, that were shared with the Blur fandom by whistleblowers (blurhatesme, and Britpopabuse), and any relevant information/context. For legal reasons I will be referring to everything as "allegations."
// EVIDENCE //
Part 1 - DMs between one of G's young victims (a fan) and him, in his forties at the time.
Part 2 - Bonebagg aka Scarlett & Mirja, the fans who cover for him. The events that likely led up the move to London and separation.
Part 3 - The Asian fanbase speaking to an uncomfortable moment with Graham and a fan during TMW tour.
Part 4 - previous Graham abuse whistleblowers of the past years and their context.
Part 5 - Suzy Norman - Graham's response to telling Suzy to "get fucked up the arse" on his forum.
Part 6 - The selfies he sent a lot of young fans
Part 7 - Posts from his wife Essy
Part 7.5 - Post from Essy on being a IPV (intimate partner violence) and Financial Abuse survivor

Tell us about your Easterling conlang! Was it inspired by any real world languages?
No real-world languages at the moment, at least not consciously, though once I get deeper into developing the grammar that may happen. Tolkien doesn't give us much for the Easterling languages, just a few names. (I know he later changed his mind and said Bor & Family and Ulfang & Family were Easterling names and not Sindarin, but I find it too hard to swallow that Bor and Uldor just happened to have names that were cognates with Sindarin terms reflecting their choices in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad.)
So I took some of the sounds that Tolkien seems to have disliked, and then I used the OT constraint model to develop a functional phonology. I ended up with a quantity-sensitive monopodal language with syllable structures of CX(C) and CX:, where X is anything more sonorant than a glide. Its feet are trochees and are aligned with the left side of the word. It requires onsets and CC-voice-agreement, and bans epenthesis and adjacent identical segments. It also bans [g] in outputs. It allows complex clusters and deletion when necessary to prevent violations of higher-ranked constraints. It does not force agreement in place of articulation.
It's called Lathtesh ('speech'). The Easterlings call themselves Rikishim ('sun-people').  The plural morpheme is -ishim, though the output obviously changes based on the noun it's modifying. So nuv ('mountain') becomes nuvishim, but ki ('person') becomes kishim because *kiishim would violate the Onset constraint, and *ki?ishim (? = glottal stop) would violate the Dep constraint. Brodda ('wolf') becomes broddashim for the same reasons, as well as the additional reason that *broddishim would violate the Max-Root constraint.
(Just to make things more fun: the input that leads to ri ('sun) is actually /iri/, so if for some reason you wanted to make the compound word 'mountain-sun' you'd actually end up with nuviri, not *nuvri.)
Verb conjugations are not gendered. The first-person plural morpheme is -li, and the third-person singular is -o. So verbs ending in consonants are easy - khavral ('to be', with kh being the voiceless uvular fricative) becomes khavrali ('we speak') and khavralo ('he/she/it speaks'). Verbs ending in vowels behave differently; lathta ('to speak') becomes lathtali ('we speak'), but stays lathta for 'he/she/it speaks' because *lathto would violate the Max-Root constraint.
...I might have got a bit carried away here. Hope you don't mind!

Kain's NSFT alphabet. 18+ only below! TW for mentions of: knife play, BDSM dynamics, petplay, bodily harm (nothing explicit), talk of headspaces, kink vetting. Under the cut.
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Surprisingly cuddly. He does whatever you need him to do and then he cuddles. He enjoys receiving words of affirmation. He wants to know that he did good and you felt as pleasured as he did.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s).
On Kain, he likes his hands. He is very talented in many regards. His sword-wielding, his writing, his crafts. But he is also talented in using them on you. Caressing you, petting you, he even occasionally trims his claws to finger you into oblivion.
On you, he loves your mouth. He loves making you drool for him, sticking his fingers or his dick into your mouth for you to suck. He also loves the way it gapes open or clamps shut when you shudder in pleasure.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
He likes cumming on your body. It's another way he can mark you as his. He especially likes cumming on your face.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
He jerks off quite often. Kain gets easily frustrated and the easiest way to get that out is to have an orgasm. His libido is insatiable sometimes.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Even as a human, Kain was quite acquainted with bedmates. All his life experience now gets to focus on you, you lucky little thing.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Missionary. It may be 'boring', but Kain doesn't see it that way. He has access to your body and gets to see your facial expressions.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
He'll chuckle darkly once in a while, but he's pretty serious. This is an intimate experience for Kain.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Do vampires have body hair? If they do, he keeps it shaved. When it sprouts, it's white and barely noticeable.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Depends. In his softer moments, he is extremely intimate. When he's more dominant, it's more primal than anything. But when he is feeling his moments of peace, he might pull out all the stops to make you feel loved in his intimacy- candles, rose petals, the works.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
As I said before, his libido is insatiable and his refractory period is short. If he needs it and you're not in the mood, he's just fine taking care of himself.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Power play. Kain enjoys having control over you. Call him your preferred title and he calls you his precious little pet. This can dip into many forms, including pet play, a personal favorite of his. He loves putting you in subspace and pleasuring your little brain out.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
The bedroom is always the best place, but he likes fucking you on his throne. He's an exhibitionist, but if you aren't comfortable with that, he'll clear the room and lock the doors so he can have his way with you on his throne.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Your scent drives him crazy, especially if his scent is mixed with yours. He likes leaning into your neck and inhaling deeply before nibbling or downright biting you.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Severe bodily harm. He doesn't mind choking you or running a knife along your body, but he refuses to do anything that could be downright dangerous. He can also sense when you're reaching your limits and he refuses to go beyond them, even if you ask him to.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
He loves receiving, especially on his throne. But Kain is a god at giving- better lay down, because if he gets you when you're standing, your legs WILL give out.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Depends on his mood, but Kain likes swinging between hard and fast to slow and sensual. Keeping you on the edge is one of his favorite games.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
If you're down for it, he's down too. Jacking off provides relief, but he'd much rather have you to take out his frustrations on.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Kain wants to know every detail about the risky item before even contemplating it. If it's too risky, he will say no- he is not harming you beyond what you can take. But for most other things, he likes experimenting to see what feels good.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
You'll never find the end of his libido, so just tap out whenever you're done, because he can go all night and deep into the day.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Kain adores toys. He loves using them on you to torture you, especially using vibrators to edge you. He also owns a nice collection of leather harnesses for himself.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
Kain is the definition of unfair. He will tease and edge you until you cry, and he will eat it all up because dacryphilia is a kink of his.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
He's mostly growls and deep-voiced whispering, but he is glad to be loud if that's what you want.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
He can be submissive on occasion. Sometimes Kain needs to turn his brain off and not be responsible for anything. The role of an emperor is difficult, and it's nice to have a place where he can be safe. His submission is often nonsexual, but it can be depending on what he needs- like if he needs every thought in his brain fucked out of him.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Darling. He's a giant vampire and his cock only matches his stature. (He has a piercing right under the head of his cock.)
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Kain is down to fuck almost 24/7. If he has the time and you're in the mood, he'll almost never say no.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
It can take Kain a while. He waits until you fall asleep before he does, making sure you're safe and feeling okay before he clocks out.

A new paper by Yale researchers finds racial disparities in the use of physical restraints on children who are admitted to the emergency department. Black children are more likely than White children to be subdued with restraints during ED visits, the study finds. Published September 13 in JAMA Pediatrics, the study looked at data from 11 EDs across New England between 2013 and 2020. Their sample included over 551,000 visits of patients ages 0 to 16, in which physical restraints were used 532 times. According to their analysis, Black pediatric patients were 1.8 times more likely to receive a physical restraint than a White patient. Boys were more likely than girls to be restrained. The results mirror those in another Yale-led study that looked at the use of restraints on adults in the ED, and found that Black males who lacked insurance were more likely than patients of other racial demographics to be physically restrained.
Tumblr media
Destiny Tolliver, MD
Study co-author Destiny Tolliver, MD, is a second-year postdoctoral fellow and scholar in the National Clinician Scholars Program (NCSP) at Yale School of Medicine.
When pediatric patients are restrained in the ED, they are typically tied to the bed, the researchers said. It is done “in concern for their safety or others’,” said Destiny G. Tolliver, MD, a second-year postdoctoral fellow and scholar in the National Clinician Scholars Program (NCSP) at Yale, and co-author of the current study. She added, “It can be very traumatic and scary for a child, looking up at all these people who are stopping them from moving.”
According to standard ED protocol, the researchers said, hospital staff are supposed to use de-escalation techniques and only implement physical restraints as a last resort. But the researchers said that systemic bias and racism, including the “adultification” of Black youth, and particularly Black boys, could change the way these children are perceived by nurses, doctors, and other specialists.
Tolliver has devoted her research to the overlap between the healthcare and carceral system.
“When Black children are perceived as adults, they lose the benefit of the doubt that is granted to children, and it increases the perception of threat,” she said.
Co-author Katherine A. Nash, MD, a pediatrics specialist at Yale and former NCSP scholar said adultification bias does not just occur in the ED, but can happen at any stage in the child’s journey to the ED — including at the school and in the ambulance. “And there are other forms of bias for Black boys,” Nash said. “In addition to adultification, we want to understand what else might contributes to bias and racism against Black children in the medical system — for example, the presence of the child welfare system or being brought in by police.”
Similar to the findings in the adult ED study he led, co-author Ambrose Wong, MD, MSEd, MHS, research director and associate fellow director at the Yale Center for Medical Simulation, said these findings “reflect systemic bias of these patients. These kids are labelled as ‘problematic’ and the hospital and health care system reinforces that in the intersection with police.”
When Black children are perceived as adults, they lose the benefit of the doubt that is granted to children, and it increases the perception of threat.
The researchers said that future studies will attempt to uncover the root causes of these bias inequities — where decisions were made in the chain of events leading to a patient’s ED visit that led to the use of restraint, as well as the impact of structural racism — for example disparities in access to outpatient mental health care. “We will be partnering with emergency medical services and with schools to understand where we can intervene and collaborate,” said Nash, adding that she hopes these findings will encourage other institutions to launch their own investigations.
