this weeks ep of gundam has such NERGY like wtf.
Miorine is willing to sacrifice everything to save Suletta, her own freedom and her own soul. She might not know the extent of the gundam curse and what she has to shoulder, but she’s willing regardless to do anything she can. Like girl, clearly you are VERY NORMAL about this person. How much did it break her heart to lie to her face? Break off ties as if Suletta’s not a person she wants to keep.
AAAAAAAAAAAAA
NO COME ON PEASE!!!! STOP LYING TO HER FACE AAAAAAAAAA

G Witch episode 16 thoughts
Or the episode where the real plot thickens. No offense to earth and Guel but these are the sort of stakes and drama I'm weak for. Truly a wonderful present to receive on this blessed of Sundays! Just in time for Walpurgisnacht too
And we start off strong with this heated Prospera and Bel confrontation! Cont. from last time, Bel just learned Eri Samaya is not Suletta Mercury or even alive anymore, but a mysterious 3rd thing-- her biometric code uploaded to the cloud aka Aerial. We learn her immature body couldn't handle it so she perished. Eri is now entirely composed of Permet particles, and without Aerial housing her consciousness she'll dissipate. The Gundam is literally possessed by a child's ghost.
And it seems with a permet score of 8, the datastorm can be extended with Quiet Zero and create a space for Eri to live. Or that's the implication, I gather. How exactly that would happen is a mystery though I suspect it would mean granting Eri a new physical body, perhaps by 'overwriting' Suletta's mind/soul. (Well this is sounding familiar, isn't it 3h fans?)
But amid all this, there's the matter of Benerit's leadership. Without Delling, they need someone to control the various corporate beasts so it's decided they'll hold an election. Awfully democratic of them tbh. Though I wager leadership might boil down to whoever can crush hardest in a Mobile Suit royale.
We know Shaddiq will be throwing his hat in the ring, as will our prodigal failson Guel by the looks of it. Speaking of, I wish he had a bigger moment with his brother but maybe later? Their surprise was pretty good, and I enjoyed Guel's talk with Petra. She's grown up quite a bit from the shallow bully/fangirl of the first season.
Moving on to Mio, I went nuts over this shot. Suletta is fulfilling all her promises!! Even cleaned her disaster area of a room and messaging three times per day. She's unnervingly good at following directions tbh.
Adored this so much too. Lauda is grateful to GUNDARM for their aid and subsequently clears them of suspicion in the terrorist attacks. He goes out of his way to say Mio is free from the dueling games too, but Mio could care less about that petty nonsense. Her heart and mind is set on Suletta.
Quick mention to Secilia for being the most relatable person in the show. She just wants to sit on this god forsaken couch, watch the drama, and see who'll be Miorine's husbando. She's so funny, I swear.
And ofc we get spacian/earthian hostility in the wake of the attacks. You can't blame these kids for being scared and lashing out at the nearest targets but also Earth House was clearly not involved and aiding students during. Even Lauda of all people can understand that. They are grieving for a friend apparently which just complicates the situation further. Sad for all tbh
Martin steps up to defend his housemates, which was nice to see, but it's Mio who is able to shut down their hostility with a clever bit of blackmail. She's so cool and taking no one's guff this season
Nika had a brief interaction with Sabina, but it was insightful. We understand Sabina's loyalty to Shaddiq now as she's an earthian who was taken in by Grassley. Like Nika, she wants to become a bridge for spacians and earthians. Their methods contrast Nika's but they're all coming from the same place. Sabina is anyway. Shaddiq is a bit more inscutable.
Detective Mio is exploring all avenues in her quest and the space assembly league are all too happy to collaborate. They all find Shin Sei and Prospera suspicious, it seems. Valid observation. She does manage to locate Nika, sorta, and brings that information back to the others.
Mio is so adorable when Earth House thanked her for everything. This is probably the first time in years people appreciate who she is on her own merits and formed bonds that aren't conditional or tied to her father. It was just a really wholesome moment. Ah I love her and Earth House! Especially after hearing that first drama cd sketch.
Shout out to Till for shipping these two like the rest of us. Solid wingman right there. Poor Suletta doesn't quite know where they stand after all this time and doesn't want to be a nuisance, but still desperate to show Mio her dedication.
Just look at this pathetic puppy face 🥺
Only a monster could say no to that look, and luckily for her Mio is an understanding and loving bride.
Prospera Jumpcare. Watch out y'all, this one has a mean bite. Her showing up suddenly was unnerving. For the love of all that is holy, never do this again lady. Creeping me out somethin fierce.
HOO BOOOY where to begin? So 5lan was rejected from Aerial immediately, unlike when Eri was humoring El4n and Mio. Is this a sign she's grown in power or just fed up with 5lan's gremlin antics? Could be a combo of both! I take this as confirmation there were multiple failed clones/instances of Eri and Suletta was the lone sucess. The others look Eri's age. 12 of them in total, making Suletta unlucky 13.
I kinda felt sorry for 5lan here, cause he has a right to want to live and not be a tool but also... I don't like him and wish him nothing but misery for being a creep + striking Bel, who I do love. Poor Bel is not having a good week in between Prospera's guilting and now 5lan's.
And we finally arrive at THE SCENES we've been waiting for. It's so wonderfully tense but also tentatively hopeful at the start. Suletta who wants nothing more than to bridge the gap and Mio who wants the same.
Mio starts off with an empathetic apology, stating she understands Suletta's choice in ep12 even if it was traumatic for her. But the reconciliation derailed the moment Suletta declares her mother was right after all. She did the right thing. Run gain one, move forward and gain two.
Mio is galvanized by this logic and hastens to ask Suletta how she can smile at something so terrible. She might understand why Suletta killed for her sake, but she doesn't get how Suletta can just blindly accept everything is ok; that murder was right. Then Mio goes directly in, striving to make Suletta understand. She presses her about her mother, asking if Suletta would do anything. Including giving up her dream for Mercury or killing again.
Her answer, while terrible, is yes. To all of it. Suletta would forfeit the school for Mercury. Would kill again at the behest of her mother. Would do anything so long as her mother said it was right.
Suletta only sees the positives. She got to go to school, have friends, and meet Miorine who she loves. All because she moved forward at her mother's demand. It's horrifying but it makes perfect sense why she would think this way. It's clear from her anxious gestures she's not wholly oblivious to the horror either, but deems her discomfort inconsequential when she gains so much from obeying.
Hearing this speech is the breaking point for Mio who dashes away, leaving a forlorn Suletta to gaze after her. And we're swiftly shown what exactly she has on her mind
This scene was electric from the start. Someone is finally calling out Prospera's manipulation and while she's unflappable as always you have to admire Mio's fire. She wants Suletta to be freed and doesn't care a whit what Prospera thinks.
GOOOOOD this quote. We know Mio loves Suletta genuinely but Prospera only sees her 'daughter' as a tool to be tossed around and used by others. Her phrasing is disgusting in this exchange. 'She's a good little girl, isn't she?' *shivers*
Prospera proceeds to lay her cards on the table and is amazingly forthright, declaring her intent. She reveals her hungry fixation for vengeance and 21 yr long grudge against Delling.
Ngl it's pretty hilarious that Mio doesn't mind the idea of these adults killing themselves fighting each other so long as she and Suletta are left alone. Mio in protective wife mode fr.
It's not that easy however, as Prospera coerces Miorine to help her with QZ. And the first step is to become president of the Benerit group. Miomio for President 2023!! Will she find a loophole from this dire situation? Cast your votes now as we await what becomes of our stellar cast until the next Suletta Sunday~

ok episode 16 time!
oh wow i forgot how jarring this episode feels after episode 15 since we just like go right back to where we left off in 14 after sophie's death and the eri reveal
also look at that, prospera got up from her desk chair but immediately sat down again. i wonder if belmeria is aware at all about prospera's mobility issues too
forgot about this line lol this makes suletta somehow getting her into hots-san pretty much a miracle
ok yea yea prospera shrug memes aside, this part of this scene is so good lol. like prospera just fucking calls belmeria out on her hypocrisy. belmeria is such a coward lmao.
i don't really have an opinion on the fact that she lived to see the end, but i feel like she doesn't get shit on enough for being complicit in all the evil shit peil gets up to. i was really excited to see prospera call her out at the beginning of this episode when i first watched lol
the news broadcast frames are always so interesting to me in this whole show lol. like it's probably the easiest and kind of laziest way to do worldbuilding, but given how few eps we got and what a mess s2 is, i guess i'll take it
also cracking up at the wording on this last screencap and focusing entirely on the spacian economy instead of you know the earthian lives being snuffed out for literally no reason
wonder if they'd been planning to be turncoats since this moment
i mentioned it before but like this little lesbian snuck cool-san around this whole time lol
also imagine how she felt the moment she turned her phone back on to find a barrage of messages from suletta
i dont think i'd ever stopped to read the messages here as secelia is scrolling through her phone, so it's interesting to see that last one asking if suletta saved everyone
the most confusing shot and line to have ever happened in this entire show lmao
how strong is chuchu that you need suletta and lilique to hold her back
jubeju gone but not forgotten to the memes
the birth of something so insane lmao i still can't get over sabinika's existence
even with magical permet minerals creating quantum entanglement internet capabilities across electronics, how are we supposed to believe guel just made his way up the space elevator with no money or identification
god i really wanted feng jun to play a bigger role in everything and then lol
best boy till
ah, here we go...
i wonder if any of the earth house kids picked up on miorine getting upset when prospera showed up. like you'd think maybe till or something wouldve noticed, right?
this scene was so satisfying after what a creep el5n has been since his introduction
love this frame composition. this entire scene is honestly one of my favorites and the voice acting throughout it is top notch
really gotta wonder about the people who were hating on miorine mid-season. like were they just not paying attention? so much of her emotions are displayed to us through her body language
and i really just love the part in this scene when suletta starts fidgeting and we SEE miorine notices this. we SEE miorine notice that suletta is deeply uncomfortable with this conversation. it's such a blink or you'll miss it moment and i just really appreciate that detail
i really wish we would have gotten miorine finding out more about the vanadis incident on-screen instead of it being part of all the things that got off-screened in the second of the show
like at some point her and suletta had to have talked about all this, yeah? suletta even has "first-hand" knowledge of sorts because of eri pummeling her with data transfer memories
i just really want to see that conversation so bad. i can't imagine how miorine feels knowing it was her kuso oyaji that started all this and destroyed elnora's family. it just adds to my headcanon that miorine has not forgiven him at the end
prince miorine
ok no lie, i was in a terrible mood yesterday and then i opened twitter on my phone and the first thing i saw was anilu's prince ferdinand miorine and i just turned into that meme and was like "MIORINE!"
*looney tunes wolf whistle gif*
yeah ok getting whiplash again with this episode right after 15. the weird jump back to 14 plot is just so strange
this is a great episode though. like it already heightens the tension and we know something is about to happen but god none of us were ready for 17 lmao
i think i watched the greenhouse conversation a million times after this ep aired and after the 17 break week. i really can't express how amazing i think the voice acting is on that part and although i honestly don't know shit about sound engineering, the softness and vulnerability in miorine's voice throughout that whole scene is just amazing
alright, definitely not watching ep 17 tonight, but gonna try and watch tomorrow

I have to say, I was not expecting such a good aversion of misunderstandings and pointless drama from the writer of Code "For example if I told you to kill all the Japanese it wouldnt matter how you felt about it." Geass.

An Analysis of the Hairband in G witch
Apologies in advance for disjointed rambling.
Throughout g witch’s run, many viewers have caught on to the obvious symbolism of Suletta’s signature black hairband: as a metaphor for Prospera’s control over her daughter, especially after the release of ED2 red:birthmark, where the hairband is stripped and Suletta is shown without it for the rest of the video. Viewers were thus excited to see Suletta permanently discard the hairband the moment she comes into her own, but she never does.
I propose an alternate, or rather, a broader reading of what this accessory represents. The hairband isn’t Suletta’s puppet string. Or at least, not merely that. It is a representation of the Samaya’s tragic history, the Samaya family itself, and the border separating Prospera and Suletta.
Our first and only explicit introduction to the hairband is in the first episode, when a trio of mean girls try to bully the new Mercurian Bumpkin transfer student for her “old-fashioned” accessory.
Already it is obvious that this hairband is a tie to the past. Suletta doesn’t care/know/mind their teasing, because she’s a cinnamon roll this hairband is a gift from Prospera, who was stated in Cradle Planet to be absent from most of Suletta’s childhood, even missing a birthday.
We move on to Episode 3, when Suletta changes during a phone call with Prospera before her second duel with Guel. I was tempted to dismiss this moment because, uh, she’s just changing. But I rewatched and holy moly. This scene is set right after the opening, and the very first shot? The floating headband.
To refresh everyone’s memories, the conversation is about Suletta fretting about being accused of piloting a gundam. Suletta has no idea about the history of Gundams or her mom’s involvement in them. The hairband drifts about them ominously, not yet touching Suletta’s head.
Next: episode 4. Miorine’s and Suletta’s pre-bedtime talk. This is a very very important scene that sets both of their characters up. This is where they talk about their dreams and wants. For Miorine, she has no desires other than to escape everything. And for Suletta, she wants to build a school on Mercury. In this scene, Suletta is not wearing the headband.
Prospera had no plans nor ties to Mercury; it was merely a safe place to lay low from Benerit while she assembled a new identity, then she deposited her daughters there to gain xp while she was away on business. We never see Mercury, it’s only this scene in the show that we hear anything about it. But Mercury shaped almost everything about Suletta. Her eagerness to please, her loneliness, her resilience. Suletta’s dream here is independent of Prospera, emphasized later in ep 16 when Mio asks Suletta if she would give her school dream up for her mother. It's also significant that she pushes back confidently against Miorine telling her to live for herself. This is all Suletta and no mom.
Fast forward the show and the next Hairband Moment is more subtle, in episode 18. This is not a Suletta moment but an Elnora/Prospera one.
This is an extremely important shot for Prospera and Suletta’s relationship. Prospera hasn’t dyed her hair yet, and it’s free of the clips and the Hairband. This is her showing affection freely to Suletta and Suletta alone.
Elnora shed the hairband as part of her transformation into Prospera. She gave it to Suletta instead. Why? Look at the screenshot above again. At that age, Suletta wasn’t old enough to stop looking like Eri. We can assume the hairband was a gift later in Suletta’s life. Not only to differentiate her from Eri, but as a visual reminder for herself of Suletta’s purpose as the key to bringing Eri back. A visual reminder of all she lost as Elnora Samaya. No more, no less. Prospera cannot allow herself to falter in her plans.
Then, episode 19. Suletta has just had her heart mercilessly stomped on by ProspEri. She thinks her family has abandoned her. She’s not even a part of it, really, just a clone, a key. She’s not worthy of wearing Prospera’s gift. In her depressive slump, she’s finally taken it off. But it isn’t far away. She still loves them so, so, much.
Suletta has breakfast with the Earth House, caught with her hair down.
She’s not just a clone, a key, a discarded tool. She, on her own, has made friends. Friends separate from Samaya and Rembran’s dark bloody history. Found family who don’t push and prod at her for what happened, but support her warmly without expectation. Friends made from Suletta’s very innocent wishes for a shoujo school life. Friends that treat her as a person of her own. As others have pointed out, this is a Rebirth. This is Suletta Mercury realizing her self worth.
Her journey isn’t over yet.
A disappointment to many, who would have expected Suletta breaking free for good and never wearing the thing again. A disappointment to me as well. I liked hair down Suletta.
So why is the hairband back? Because Suletta is realising the truth of her family in this scene. From hereon out, she acts with the full knowledge of the Samaya’s history. She’s connecting the dots between what Eri data storm-dumped in her brain, why she ejected her, why Mom left her floating in space, and what Prospera is doing now. Miorine isn’t brought up here despite being the one mentioned in the news. Suletta guessed from this news report that it was all ProspEri. She doesn’t think it’s the best way, but she knows why they did what they did. And that there was no other way they saw to keep her out of it.
For a time, Suletta, still a passive character, decided to take what good she could get out of the situation and do the only thing she thought she could do, what ProspEri (and Miorine) wanted: stay in school. Suletta has come to terms with her being a tool to the Samayas as well as the fact that she can’t help loving them.
Then an option to pilot a dangerous Gundam is given to her. With Petra’s words, seeing the devastation of the school and that caused by Quiet zero, personally working to save and comfort the students, and the final realisation that Ericht shielded her from dying to the Gundam curse all this time, Suletta gained a new resolve. She wants to talk to Prospera and Ericht again. Even if she’s not a Samaya. Even if she was only a tool to them. She loves. She wants.
“Take me there. To the Gundam.”
From there, the climax follows Suletta never backing down in her mission to appeal to Prospera and Ericht. Suletta cannot ignore what her family is doing; she dons the headband representing the Samayas and pilots Calibarn with purpose. Throughout the fight, she moves forward by telling Prospera and Ericht her wishes: for them to not go down the dark path, and to come with her instead. Eri reminds her that she has a place to be (with her new friends and Miorine), however, Suletta rebuts this: "I'm a greedy person! I still have so much I want to do with you and Mom!" She finally asserts herself as having a place in their lives. Ericht smiles at this unrelenting tenderness, making the choice to help Suletta AND spend the rest of her digital existence with her sister.
And the scene of Prospera, Eri and Suletta together in the data storm. At last, after 21 long years, Elnora sees her Vanadis family again. Suletta and Eri have brought it back using permet magic and her memories of them. We see Suletta’s helmet off, hairband prominent.
She and the data storm space embody the crossroads between moving forward and clinging to old ghosts, between life and death. Suletta makes no move to persuade Elnora either way, only telling her that whatever she chooses, even if the others disagree, Elnora’s choice has her support.
Despite being the originator of “move forward gain two”, Elnora has been trapped in guilt and grief. Nadim told her to run to save their daughter, but she died anyway. And there, 17 years ago, Elnora has been stuck since, neither running away nor moving forward.
Elnora decides, at this moment, that she doesn’t want to join the ghosts in the data storm. She and Eri both choose to live.
And the epilogue?
Elnora, Eri, and Suletta have found peace, a truly happy ending. The hairband is missing now. They’ve done it. They got what they wanted all along, even if it's not quite what they envisioned before. They’ve moved forward for each other and themselves.
I wonder if the best way to describe the hairband is the antithesis to "moving forward", the show's main theme. In some respects, it is. It embodies Prospera, Suletta (and Ericht's) earlier relationship. And yet by the end of this analysis it's also become what Suletta hangs on to throughout the confrontation to remind herself and the Samayas of the love that they did show to one another; the potential of their being a real family. By the end, suletta has grown up and helped others grow up too. She succeeded, moved beyond the old hair band, because her relationship with her family is progressing.

The 22nd Day of G-Witch: What We Can Do Now
It's been 2 weeks since the attack and Suletta is still working hard to help her fellow students.
I'm not going to lie, I feel like we as a fandom collectively willed Petra's survival through a week of huffing nothing but hopium that she somehow survived.
Miorine's complete breakdown through this episode is as difficult to watch as it is frustrating. She blames herself for the incidents on Earth (started by Prospera and made worse by Benerit security forces) and the school (in this case she probably correctly assumes that Shaddiq started the attack in response to Guel charging in). And while Prospera and Guel were working for her, it's still frustrating seeing her take the guilt and blame for their actions squarely on her shoulders. I imagine this isn't helped by the fact that she's come to realize that she was being strung along and manipulated by Prospera, and she walked right into it willingly.
You know what doesn't help Miorine's mindset? Shaddiq basically telling her that he decided to resort to terrorism because she turned him down, thus preventing his "peaceful" takeover of the Benerit Group. Another person's actions who she now feels guilty for.
Tomatoes are a symbol of love in G-Witch. And in this case, the tomatoes they grew together is the love nurtured between Miorine and Suletta. Even through everything, Suletta has kept tending to that love, and is now sharing it with everyone in the school. She still keeps Miorine in her heart.
It's great that we got closure to the little arc between Nika and Martin that started in episode 12, but this really should have been the conversation between Nika and Chuchu that was mentioned in the last episode but happened off-screen. I feel like the staff lost sight of their priorities a bit on this one.
Time for the first plot point that really got screwed up by the pacing/writing, and takes me back to something I talked about in episode 16.
Prospera makes a big deal that with a new President, her plans for Quiet Zero will be ruined, so she needs Miorine to run for president and win so that those can proceed smoothly. Now obviously the SAL catching onto her pushed her plans up and she had to deploy Quiet Zero before finishing it, but the events in this episode call into question if she ever really needed Miorine (or anyone for that matter) to become president to finish QZ, except maybe to buy her some time. She clearly bails after Earth and goes straight to QZ, erasing all data on the project in the process, and it's fairly clear that at no point does Miorine, as the new President, hand control of the project over to her. So she never needed Miorine to be president, she always had access to Quiet Zero itself. At best Prospera did need Miorine to become president to buy more time to finish the amplifiers (since unlike anyone else, she could count on Miorine staying out of her way as part of their deal), but it's made pretty clear later that taking them by force was on the table anyway.
So the episode really kind of just makes it look like Prospera never actually needed Miorine to be president in any way, shape or form for her Quiet Zero plans. And she only had Miorine run for the position so Prospera could use the opportunity to stain her hands with blood for no reason other than revenge against the Rembran family.
Suletta is incredibly strong. She loves her mother so much, and to just...talk about how she's not her mother's "real" daughter, that she's only a repli-child, and that no matter what, she doesn't think the mother she loves will actually listen to her because of that cannot be easy. But she does it all with a melancholic look and a smile on her face.
I would love to know how common repli-children are in Ad Stella. None of her friends seem to react to the fact that she's basically a clone, or make a big deal out of it. And Suletta, by now at least, seems to have accepted that fact of her existence and made peace with it. So it makes me wonder if it's not a rare or unheard of practice.
Suletta is also just incredibly brave. Not only has she gained a new motto to live by, one she came up with on her own, but she also wants to speak to her mother and sister one more time, no matter what. And even though she knows Eri has shielded her from Data Storms all her life, even though she knows she's being asked to a pilot a Gundam that has fewer protections from Data Storms than others, she still wants to move forward and talk to her family once more. Even if that means piloting a "monster" that will probably kill her to do it.
The Quiet Zero reveal is definitely a highlight of S2, especially the absolutely haunting and beautiful song composed by Takashi Ohmama for it. We very quickly see how overwhelmingly powerful Prospera and Ericht have become with Quiet Zero, and even before Ericht activated the override and destroyed them like fish in a barrel, the Gundnodes were absolutely tearing through an entire fleet of professional soldiers with ease.
Once again, Chuchu proves to be Suletta's closest friend and strongest ally. Knowing that Suletta could be walking to her death, and knowing that it's an incredibly dangerous situation, she still vows to make sure all of Earth House will be there to support her, so she's not alone. I love Chuchu.
I actually really appreciate that even though he was doing what he had to do to survive, Elan still makes a point to apologize to Suletta for being a creep towards her and trying to assault her. It does come across as being genuine because he does so without being prompted and he could have just tried to excuse it away as him needing to do what he needed to to survive if he had been questioned.
siiiiiiiiiigh
Fuck you, Lauda. You don't deserve the Schwarzette or the screentime.
I actually really hated this episode when I first watched it. I stumbled across the early leaks for the episode and was already pretty upset about certain things in them and I ended up just being pissed off the entire episode once I realized the leaks were real. I still have issues with it, but I've softened on it considerably since, especially Suletta's role. But this was absolutely the first episode where wasting time on episode 15 really did a number on the pacing and I started to have my doubts about if the show could pull off a satisfying conclusion.

well! I finally got that free time I was waiting for so I managed to take a lot of photos of the g witch season 2 volume 2 blu-ray box featuring our very own el presidente guelito jeturk! 🦁🎉 I'll put them all under the read more where I break them down by sections, too!
first section is the outer box, of course, and can I just say. if somebody sold even just the outer box on mercari (like somebody did for shaddiq's cover, I remember reading somewhere), I would be so tempted to buy it. handsome boy notwithstanding, this thing would actually make such a handsome and fun a5 document holder! the red is just so attractive to the eyes and check out that gold stamping! like the whole thing just really looks so executive.
and I really love the choice of foil silhouette, too. this is guel's revival from the penultimate version of the season 2 opener. his choice of dialogue has...far too many...ellipses...for...my tastes...but we know how important it is to his arc so it belongs there. I just wish they got rid of even just one ellipsis cause it doesn't make sense without the drama of the source scene.
here's the rest of the contents of the box! there's the actual disc box, a special booklet in guel's primary colors, then two sets of end cards, one for the anime and another for the audio drama
aside from the handsome boy at the front, the other part that convinced me to buy this blu-ray volume is the stunning spread of the darilbalde by ippei gyoubu as the disc box jacket. now I can finally say that I own one of his artworks!
the close-ups are just to show the gloss and the material used
and here are the actual discs! and a sneak peek of my curtains oops. I haven't had the time to watch/listen to the cds yet but the red one contains episodes 16 to 18, the season 2 digest (I think this is the one narrated by noto mamiko-san?), the 2nd and 3rd versions of the season 2 opener and the jeturk house's audio commentary of episode 17. and by jeturk house, I mean everyone's voice actors, of course: azakami youhei for guel, takeo otsuka for lauda, takada yuuki for felsi, hirose yuuki for petra and yamashita taiki for kamil.
the silver one is for the two audio dramas: sophie and norea before the dawn (of fold) and izakaya prospera (which is a modern au setting where the jeturk's business is a flower shop which vim manages because his boys are too into basketball).
the special booklet talks about the episodes, the characters, the world, and has some special interviews from miyahara youhei who is the technical director and kodera shouta, director of photography. if anyone's interested with these interviews, please let me know and I'll take clear photos!
(by the way, the line at the side of the episode 17 summary is guel's oshi line, "I'm grateful to you. You're important to me." as far as his mentions in the summaries are concerned, episode 17 just says that miorine chose him as suletta's final duel and he won against her, and episode 18 just says that miorine and guel have started working together for the presidential election)
the characters section gives us more information about the, well, characters as of episodes 16 to 18. guel's captions read (edited from the machine translation):
the long text:
After the Plant Queta attack, he was taken prisoner by the Dawn of Fold, but returned from Earth in order to rebuild the Jetark Company, which connects him to his father. After returning to school, he finally wins his third duel with Suletta. He has become CEO in place of his younger brother Lauda, who was serving as acting CEO of Jeturk Company, and is working with and supporting Miorine, who is running for president. He expressed his feelings and gratitude to Suletta, and now he is working for what is important to him.
under profile:
Affiliation: Jeturk Heavy Machinery
just above his full name:
Guel, with his trademark long hair cut short, showed his determination to rebuild the company as CEO.
the world guide mostly talks about the state of politics in episodes 16 to 18. the edited machine translations from top to bottom:
Jeturk Company Following Vim's death, Lauda served as acting CEO in Guel's absence. After Guel returns from Earth and defeats Suletta in a duel, he becomes the new CEO. Currently, he is working hard to rebuild Jeturk Company, and is supporting Miorine, with whom he has teamed up, to become the company's next president.
During his lifetime, Vim Jeturk secretly worked with the Shin Sei Development Corporation, introducing the GUND format into his company's next-generation concept model "Schwarzette'' and proceeding with its development.
CEO: Guel Jeturk
and lastly, here are the end cards! I thought about just taking a photo of the front but the artist credits (and icons in the case of the audio dramas) are at the back and I didn't want to leave them out. the first two photos are the audio drama end cards while the last three are the anime ones. they're fairly thin and they're not glossy! check out the reflection on the episode 17 end card.
if anyone is curious about other parts of the blu-ray volume that I excluded from this post, please let me know!
#g witch#gundam witch#guel jeturk#guel etc#hmmm just realized that mogumo made him too pale here didn't they

gwitch ep16 spoilers
- gdmnt that 3H parallels are so spot on. Suletta, you need to realize you are your own person 😭
- speaking of 3H parallels, there’s something so utterly compelling about antagonists whose primary motivation revolves around letting the world burn to protect/bring back a loved one in one form or another, their love and devotion morphing into something malevolent.
- Prospera really is slowly (rapidly?) laying out her cards on the table. She’s really turning out to be the ultimate Char Clone for me imo. I’m really excited to see her piloting skills now.
- Miorine really is so smart to figure out that the root of Suletta’s pathologies stem from Prospera and her manipulations. She instantly went to confront the source herself. Excellent use of imagery with the tomatoes: Miorine being the health red one and Suletta being the unripe/ partly browning (rotting?) other.
- I used to dislike El5n and I think that’s what the writers would want the audience to feel about him, but it’s easy to forget that there’s a metaphorical gun to his head influencing all of his actions. Now I feel sorry for him; he just wants to survive. Makes me wonder if the creepy assault vibes are his choice because clearly the nice guy act didn’t help El4n in the past.
- spot-on title of the episode. Wonder how Miorine and Suletta will break that.
- ending card art absolutely deserves to be about best girl Miorine
- will Aerial let Miorine pilot her in the future? She did let Miorine move her for a few minutes in ep1.
Love your thoughts and yes, the 3h parallels keep giving! That end-card was something else too 🥰 We love a girlboss taking charge and setting her groom free. Idk about piloting but it would be cool if Mio could interact with Eri in some way, possibly collaborate against Prospera? Always tragic when you pit two girlbosses against each other, but mommy dearest is a bit unhinged. I can't wait to see where they take this! Sry for the late response btw, been avoiding tumblr when not spewing lunacy because it's too big of a distraction lol
