i dont disagree with you; i already enjoy writing a lot of divergent or alternative timeline fics and canon events cannot stop me when i have an idea i enjoy and want to explore
i enjoyed the idea for a while when it seemed to be the canon thing but even then i was wondering how it was supposed to play out since it seemed a pretty dead end situation and i do enjoy the twist of it, especially with how much deception plays into the events of the series
slight disclaimer im not caught up all the way with either the manga or the anime as of writing this response, so my information is mostly through osmosis from others who are and i hope i havent phrased anything too poorly
when you realise the Fyodor stans aren't mad that Meursault ended the way it did because it's badly written or anything and more because they set up the guy on a pedestal as "Dazai's greatest rival" and therefore little old Chuuya with his one note traits like his caveman anger, non existent impulse control and pea sized brain clearly cannot be the one to beat the Great Fyodor.
Sorry that Chuuya didn't ooga booga around Meursault, unfortunately he happens to be ridiculously smart and good at making people think they are in control. The entire set up for Fyodor's downfall being his inability to see people as being unpredictable had been hinted at from the moment Dazai and Fyodor had the waitress conversation.

Ah fuck we doing this huh... -SIGHS- Fyodor Dostoevsky BNHA Verse information/tag dump
Quirk: Crime and Punishment (So long as Fyodor knows a crime his victim commits- be it something small or major, he can dish out a ‘punishment’- akin to an internal version of Overhaul with a single touch.)
A cult leader parading as a false god (has been since he was 10) hailing from Russia, Fyodor views quirks as a sin to god, an abomination on the world and wishes to eradicate their existence.
Incredibly influential yet tends to let others do his dirty work (be it adult, teenager, or child- everyone is his play thing and he will use them how he sees fit.), sinking their claws into them with false promises and the word that he’ll grant whatever they wish, he was and is a god after all.
His emotions are practically nonexistent, making him hard to read and hard to get close to- yet it helps him to play those falling into his hands like a violin, to manipulate them to his design and to his own agenda. Even if it means they die in the process.
Very interested in the Shie Hassakai and their leader. Call it a hunch but he clearly knows there’s more happening behind the scenes, clever enough to attempt to garner an alliance with them.
After the events of the Overhaul arc, Fyodor pays a visit to Overhaul in tartarus, claiming god simply saw his plans as weak, that he’d continue what’s begun while also claiming his hubris was what caused his plans to fail, that the heroes that plague society- that HE’LL cause their downfall and the destruction of quirks.
Disappears for a time after that, causing destruction from the inside out, spreading his influence and breaking down the pillars of peace and strength- without those he’d be able to continue his work in eradicating quirks.
Wishes to see hero schools demolished and the Meta Liberation army eradicated (Their views on quirks disgust him and he’d rather destroy them.)
Current arc wise- Fyodor’s just enjoying the carnage of the PLF, one organization down and he didn’t even have to do anything. (better that way, but it’s far too fun to stay on the sidelines for something like this.)
