𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆… 𝐌𝐘 𝐖𝐄𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑, 𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐓. 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐄

❝ Esther did not mean to blow up her prep school’s bell tower, she swears she didn’t. And, really, she’s not even entirely sure how she did it. One minute she was being pushed around the school’s quad by a group of popular girls who were always mean to her, wishing and praying for something to distract them so that they’d leave her alone, and the next minute her hands are glowing golden and the bell tower’s in shambles. Again, she one hundred percent did not mean to do that, but she was pretty sure the biggest concern in that situation was how her hands had started glowing.

Thankfully, her dads agreed with her, and had decided it would be best to send Esther to Nevermore Academy, a school known for educating teenagers with more… unique abilities like hers. Esther loved everything about the school immediately: the dreary stone constructs, the lovely uniforms, and especially the amazing powers the other students had, all of it was the greatest experience in the world to her.

The problem was that Esther did not belong in any of the outcast groups that attended Nevermore. She could not transform into a wolf, she didn’t need to drink blood, and she certainly couldn’t bring her drawings to life. In fact, no matter how overwhelmed or upset or angry she got, she couldn’t even manage to make her hands glow again like they had the first time. Even among a group of people who were officially termed outcasts, Esther was the outlier, the one seemingly normal student amidst mysterious vampires and captivating sirens.

But after a year at Nevermore, she’s started to become content with that, happy to hang out with the siren students by the pool in between classes and pine uselessly over a certain peppy werewolf who only has eyes for a gorgon. However, that contentment is completely shaken when Wednesday Addams arrives at Nevermore.

Wednesday may not have any outcast abilities - at least seemingly, at first - but she is certainly not normal. This girl, who is now sharing a room with Esther’s crush, is the very definition of creepy and kooky, seems to have a default blank face, and is convinced that a monster is the one killing normies in the town near Nevermore.

And, well, Esther’s been kind of bored lately, and she’s never one to shy away from a good mystery, so she volunteers to help Wednesday solve the mystery of the murderous monster - only to experience startling revelations about her true heritage and gain feelings for Wednesday, while still being hopelessly in love with Enid.

This has decidedly not been the school year Esther was expecting to have. ❞
