While I get the reason behind this, I think it is quite counterproductive to do things like limiting the archive page or partially hiding the homepages. Tumblr was conceived as a network for microblogging, totally connected to the outside world, and as such, some relevant websites from the last decade used Tumblr to host their platforms (in this country, @jaidefinichonhd and @futubandera come to mind, I think Porlaputa too, which were local versions of sites like 9gag or ifunny). I know you want more users, but limiting the ability to use your network as a way to host websites can diminish the visibility Tumblr has.

I don't know how it is in the US, but here, Tumblr passed from the number one website for college memes and a relevant hub for indie teenagers, to being practically unknown to anyone born after 1999 and before 1986 in less than a decade.

P.S. I'm glad the website @mylittlegoat is not affected, this means heavily customized websites can avoid it and it's good you let them

Hi there! Not sure why, but the login wall somehow got even more aggressive. I found this site through lurking without an account, and it's incredibly valuable to allow posts on this site to be viewable to those without accounts/those who aren't logged in. This is useful for informative and educational reasons. Are there any plans to ease up on the login wall?

Thank you for getting in touch about this. We are continuously experimenting with that login wall, and increasing and decreasing the frequency at which it appears is part of that experiment. This is also a good opportunity to explain that we simply want people to sign up for Tumblr to help us grow, and that is why the login wall exists.

Tumblr’s staff. Today you took one of the best pictures I have ever posted. It’s called FUTUBANDERA, which is the picture at the bottom. For years, I posted and reposted it because it was fun. It depicted a bunch of about 12 year old boys, it looks like they were conferencing after a game, and the typical wise kid that exists everywhere, instead of holding his arms around his mates at the shoulder level, he put his hands on two teammates butts. One of the two boys simply takes the hand and raises it. The world did not end. Taking down that innocent picture, shows you have no sense of humor. If you start trashing pictures because of whatever guidelines that are not understood by anybody. Because like I said before, anybody can see a lot of the sex tones in most of the pictures in Tumblr, yes even you Tumbler’s staff. You and your guidelines are a contradiction to one another.
