Fury of the Stars- Chapter One
"Primrosekit, from this moment on, until you have earned your full name, you shall be known as Primrosepaw," Emberstar announced as she smiled at the kit. The young she-cat could barely sit still from her excitement. Her brothers, Greypaw and Hawkpaw, sat by their new mentors, Owlflight and Blizzardtooth.
"Your mentor shall be Rosefeather," Emberstar meowed. Lightfeather blinked in surprise, as did Crowstep.
Primrosepaw looked to Rosefeather as the Snowclan medicine cat walked up to her and gently touched her nose with hers.
"Don't worry. You'll do fine," she said. Primrosepaw smiled in relief and relaxed.
"Greypaw, Hawkpaw, Primrosepaw! Greypaw, Hawkpaw, Primrosepaw!" The Snowclan cats cheered.
Rosefeather smiled at Primrosepaw, "go meet up with your brothers and parents. I'll be there shortly."
Primrosepaw nodded happily and she ran over to Lightfeather and Crowstep.
"I'm so proud of you," Lightfeather meowed with a smile as she licked Primrosepaw's head.
Greypaw whined when his mother did the same to him and Hawkpaw. "Mooom, you're messing up my fur," he said and Crowstep laughed heartily.
"Will the others get apprenticed too?" Hawkpaw asked, looking up at them.
"Let's hope so. I believe that Nightingalekit and her brother and sisters are four moons old. They'll be apprenticed soon," Crowstep chuckled.
"Darkkit will be plenty excited," Greypaw snickered. "Congratulations!" A familiar voice squeaked.
"Speaking of which," Lightfeather chuckled as two kits scurried over to them.
The she-kit was a tortoiseshell with white paws and golden eyes. The tom kit was a light brown short-haired tabby with black stripes, black paws and amber eyes.
"Thanks, you two," Primrosepaw giggled, "in about two moons, you'll be apprenticing with us!"
"I'm already excited!" Darkkit said with a grin, "Dad says I'm gonna be the best warrior in the clan!"
"I bet," Crowstep chuckled. "We better get going," Greypaw said with a smile, "our mentors are waiting!"
"You all go ahead," Lightfeather giggled. Greypaw and Hawkpaw bounded over to Owlflight and Blizzardtooth.
Primrosepaw smiled and she nuzzled Lightfeather before she ran after her brothers.
Rosefeather smiled at Primrosepaw, "ready?"
She nodded, "are we all going?" "Yep," Blizzardtooth chuckled, "after all, someone has to keep an eye out for intruders."
Owlflight pawed at Blizzardtooth's ear. "Don't go putting that in their heads, Blizzardtooth. They just became apprentices."
Blizzardtooth smiled innocently and Primrosepaw and Rosefeather both giggled.
"Let's go, let's go!" Hawkpaw mewed excitedly, bouncing side to side.
The six Snowclan cats padded out of the camp. Primrosepaw looked around curiously.
The sun glistened through the leaves.
"We'll show you the Snowclan border," Blizzardtooth meowed, flicking his tail, "after Rosefeather gets the herbs she needs, then we'll start training."
"Great!" Greypaw meowed happily.
Owlflight walked over to a stream and he leapt over it. Blizzardtooth and Rosefeather followed him.
Greypaw, Hawkpaw and Primrosepaw stared at their mentors and looked at each other. Rosefeather giggled and flicked her tail, "come on! Just leap over it."
Greypaw swallowed nervously before he hopped over it. Watching him land on the other side, Hawkpaw leapt after him.
Primrosepaw flattened her ears and whimpered, her tail curling up.
She exhaled before she leapt forward and nearly tumbled into Graypaw and the two looked at each other before they giggled.
"Come on, you two," Rosefeather giggled. Hawkpaw smiled happily as he and his siblings bounded after them.
The cats walked past a tree that had willow leaves and flowers. Primrosepaw looked at Rosefeather, "what's this?"
"This is our border," she chuckled, "and it's where I store herbs. Come with me, Primrosepaw."
With that, she got to her hind legs, dug her claws into the bark and started to climb up onto the tree. Primrosepaw followed her.
Hawkpaw sniffed the air and he looked around. He smelled something oddly familiar. Glancing at Owlflight who was conversing with Blizzardtooth, he slowly padded through a few bushes.
He walked out of the bushes and widened his eyes when he saw a Snowclan border patrol consisting of four cats: Badgerflame, Foxwish, Raccoonmask and Cloudshade.
Hawkpaw noticed another clan border patrol. He kept himself hidden as he sniffed the air a little more. His tail flicked sideways as he smelled Fireclan.
Their border patrol consisted of four cats too but he didn't know who they were.
"I won't say it again, Rushrunner," Badgerflame said calmly, his golden eyes glinting in the morning sun, "keep to your side of the territory. You have no reason to try and trespass on our borders."
"On the contrary, Badgerflame," the light gray and white tom, Rushrunner, huffed, "most of this territory was claimed by Fireclan moons ago."
"And yet we've taken it," Raccoonmask snarled, his fur bristling.
"Bite your tongue, runt!" A golden tom hissed. Duskspark snarled, baring his teeth.
"Enough!" Badgerflame snapped at the air and he glared at Rushrunner, "tell your leader to keep his paws off our borders or we will have no choice but to fight."
Rushrunmer kept his icy glare on the black and white cat for a few moments and he gave a low growl before he turned away. With a flick of his tail, the other three Fireclan cats padded after him, giving the Snowclan cats seething glares.
Badgerflame huffed and his ear twitched. He looked towards Hawkpaw who immediately shrunk back into the grass to hide himself.
"What is it?" Foxwish asked, looking at him. He looked back at them, "nothing. Let's head back to camp. Emberstar and Owlflight will need to hear this."
"Foxhearts," Raccoonmask huffed as the Snowclan border patrol made their way back to camp.
Hawkpaw slowly relaxed before he turned and squeaked as he bumped into Owlflight.
He looked up at his mentor who raised an eyebrow, looking amused. "I recommend that you do not eavesdrop on important matters, Hawkpaw," he said. The black tom flattened his ears, "yes, Owlflight."
"Come," Owlflight meowed. Hawkpaw smiled nervously as he stood up. The two padded over to Rosefeather, Primrosepaw, Blizzardtooth and Graypaw as they started to walk back to the camp.
They padded into the camp and Hawkpaw noticed that they had beat the border patrol to camp. "Hawkpaw?" He looked up as Owlflight smiled at him.
“Come with me,” he said, flicking his tail. Hawkpaw nodded and the two padded out of the camp. They walked through an undergrowth before they padded up a hill and reached the top.
Hawkpaw widened his eyes at the sunset. “It’s so big!” He said, eyes wide with astonishment.
Owlflight chuckled, “it’s the world, young one. Were you expecting it to be small?”
Hawkpaw giggled and smiled as the sun started to set.

Fury of the Stars- Prologue
The night air was stale and fireflies fluttered through the grass. The moon was high in the star-filled sky and it glowed down on the grass and trees.
A cream and black long-haired she-cat padded through the woods before she went through an undergrowth.
She padded through the undergrowth before she climbed out and walked over to a pond. Two other cats looked at her.
"Whiteleaf, Mothflame," the long-haired she-cat meowed, nodding her head in greeting.
"Rosefeather," the white tom, Whiteleaf, nodded back, flicking his tail, "it’s good to see you. I was hoping you would come."
"I would never miss a meeting with Starclan. You know this," Rosefeather chuckled. The tortoiseshell she-cat, Mothflame, chuckled and looked at the stars.
"Starclan certainly has been quiet as of late," she meowed, flicking her tail, "perhaps it is urgent?"
"We can only hope that it may be," Whiteleaf sighed before he lowered his nose to the water and closed his eyes.
Mothflame and Rosefeather did the same and their eyes closed.
Rosefeather opened her eyes and she looked around as she was in a starlit forest. She flicked her ears as an orange long-haired cat with white paws and a long white tail walked over to her.
"Hello, Rosefeather," they said with a smile. "Foxspiral!" She mewled happily as she ran over to them and she nuzzled their chest.
Foxspiral licked her head, smiling softly. "I've missed you, old friend," they said.
Rosefeather looked up at them, "I've missed you too." She shuffled her paws a little. "How are you?" She asked shyly, her ears folding back.
Foxspiral smiled softly and flicked their tail. "I'm alright. Whiteleaf and Mothflame are talking with Cloverpond and Batcloud."
"Is there something wrong?" Rosefeather asked. Foxspiral folded their ears back and they sighed softly.
"A darkness is coming towards the forest. To all of the clans." They said gravely. She widened her eyes, "wh-what? How can we stop it?"
They exhaled softly and stood up. "Follow me," they said. Rosefeather stood up and the two cats walked through the forest.
They walked over to a large puddle and Rosefeather looked into the water curiously. In Snowclan's nursery, she saw Lightfeather curled around her three kits, Graykit, Hawkkit and Primrosekit.
"Those kits, alongside the others, will save the clans," Foxspiral meowed. Rosefeather looked at them in shock, "Foxspiral... th-they're only kits. They wouldn't know about such a danger."
"Not yet," they sighed. The two Snowclan medicine cats looked over at Mothflame and Whiteleaf as the two walked over. Both of them looked uneasy.
"The Stars are going to become angry," Foxspiral meowed, "darkness and light will battle for the hearts of those who love them. Twelve cats will battle for their freedom and for the future of their clans."
Whiteleaf narrowed his eyes in confusion.
"Twelve cats?" He repeated, the fur on the back of his neck beginning to stand. Foxspiral nodded.
Mothflame frowned deeply. "Who are they, Foxspiral?" She asked.
"I cannot tell you that yet," they replied calmly, flicking their tail. Rosefeather frowned and looked away. Whiteleaf narrowed his eyes, "typical of you, Foxspiral."
Foxspiral hissed at her. "Careful with your words, Whiteleaf. Starclan is never wrong."
"They've been wrong before! And it nearly cost a cat their life!" The white tabby tom snapped, his eyes narrowing. Rosefeather shrank back as she heard the unmistakable sound of thunder rumbling in the trees.
Mothflame looked up as leaves fell from the branches. She looked back at Foxspiral, "we will take our leave, Foxspiral. We will try to figure something out."
Foxspiral frowned but nodded as they slowly faded away.
Rosefeather opened her eyes and she looked up at Whitelesf as the Leafclan medicine cat stormed away, his tail lashing sideways.
Mothflame sighed deeply. "I apologize that you had to see that, Rosefeather. Whiteleaf is well known for his temper."
Rosefeather looked at her, "it's okay. I remember when we first met as apprentices; he was a little hissy."
The two both giggled and looked up as thunder rumbled distantly. "It will rain soon," Mothflame muttered, "I should be getting back."
"Be safe," Rosefeather said, looking at her. "You too," she replied with a smile before she went through the undergrowth.
Rosefeather looked up and sighed softly before she stood up and walked through the undergrowth. She padded down a hill and past a frost-covered rock.
She looked up and blinked in surprise. She saw two cats sitting by the entrance. The tom was grayish-black long-haired tom with dark blue eyes and the she-cat was hazel brown with white paws, white spots on her back and amber eyes.
"Crowstep, Hazelwish? Is Emberstar having you two guard the camp?" Rosefeather asked curiously.
Hazelwish nodded, "yes. She thought it would make things better. After the last ambush Goldenstar gave us."
Crowstep huffed, his tail twitching with agitation. "If I ever see those Shadowclan foxhearts, I'll tear their whiskers off."
Rosefeather flicked his nose with her tail. "Oh shush you. You know the Warrior Code."
He grumbled softly, "yes, yes. A warrior does not kill unless necessary."
"I'm sure when the next Gathering comes, Emberstar will confront Goldenstar about it," Rosefeather meowed before she walked into the camp and over to the medicine cat den. She paused for a moment before she padded to the Highrock.
She exhaled softly and walked inside. "Emberstar?" She meowed. A bright grayish-blue short-hair flicked her ear and lifted her head from her paws.
"Yes, Rosefeather? How did the meeting go? Did Starclan give you anything?" She asked, sitting up and stretching.
"Well... Starclan was... oddly vague about it at first. But I only wanted to ask you for something else," the cream and black she-cat meowed, her tail twitching nervously.
Emberstar tilted her head, "oh? And what is that?"
"An apprentice. The queens' kits will be six moons tomorrow at sunhigh," she meowed, "I just want an apprentice to teach them about the ways of a medicine cat."
Emberstar frowned in confusion. "I'm sure it's more than that, Rosefeather. But I will think about it. For now, try and get some rest."
Rosefeather nodded before she padded out of Highrock and to the medicine cat den. She sighed softly as she slowly relaxed into her nest and looked at the entrance.
After a few moments, she closed her eyes.
