✨ shuffle your ‘on repeat’ playlist and list the first 10 songs that play, then tag 10 people ✨
@smallvoids tagged me in this and in the process alerted me to the existence of the ‘on repeat’ playlist on spotify. it seems to mostly use what i’m listening to right now, so it’s mostly stuff i’ve discovered quite recently. but it’s a good sampling of what i’m currently listening to!
1. drain me! by towa bird - we love a song about lesbian sex
2. good together by lake street drive - the vibes are immaculate
3. lady lady by molly grace - once again, we love a sapphic bop
4. rolling in the deep (cover) by greta van fleet - i’ve been on a real greta van fleet binge lately and they nail this cover severely
5. do what i do by lady bri - again, great vibes and listening to it now it’s very percy coded tbh
6. glitter by daisy the great - idk it’s a good song and it’s not often that depression songs have this mood to ‘em
7. too sweet by hozier - i mean who amongst us have not been captivated by this, yet another jam from the jam-master
8. talk on the street by greta van fleet - another greta song, they make the gay little rock-loving teen inside me very happy
9. bennie and the jets (cover) by sara beth - speaking of good covers HOLY SHIT this one is so so good please listen to it it’s such a vibe i’ve been obsessed for weeks
10. the royal family by seb lowe - the coronation anthem charles never wanted 😈
@smallvoids has already tagged all of the people I could think of tagging, by anyone else feel free to give it a try - it’s a fun little self call out

Album Impressions: Endless Summer Vacation
Track One: Flowers
I've already heard this one, as it is the lead single of the album. Based on this alone, I am expecting an album that is exhibiting the same kind of 80s-esque, upbeat pop that focuses on Miley's relationship with herself.
Track Two: Jaded
I love the title of this track. It's giving a sense of resentment, jaded is defined as tired, bored or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having too much of something. It's often used in terms of fame and publicity, singers often sing about being jaded after they reach the top and find out that they're still depressed and lonely internally. Having millions of strangers love you isn't the same thing as cultivating strong personal relationships. It is also used in the context of relationships too. Often, when women seek the attention of men and get it, they are left feeling unsatisfied still and not knowing why. Coming after a track like flowers, i'm thinking this will be still upbeat but slower and most likely about the end of a relationship (maybe the same one as the flowers one).
Track Three: Rose Colored Lenses
This is another title I'm a huge fan of because of the symbolism alone. I am getting beachy vibes here, like we're on an island and looking around life in a rose-colored lens way. This title implies deliberate and conscious innocence and naivety, as well as intentionally interpreting events (the world) the way that makes you feel the best internally (in a positive hopeful light). Another phrase that is typically used in a negative context and this could go either way. Romantically or mental health wise, i'm not sure what to expect of the actual lyrics but I do know it's going to be a bittersweet feeling.
Track Four: Thousand Miles (feat. Brandi Carlile)
The first thing that comes to mind is that other song with the same title but I'm not sure what to expect from this track. It could be another midnight sky type of song. Maybe she is travelling a thousand miles trying to find herself? I'm probably biased but I'm expecting a slower melody and more focus on the lyrics as it feels more emotional as a title. Travelling a thousand miles for any reason is a difficult task, so I expect emotional strive as the core theme.
Track Five: You
This could go so many ways, honestly. We could stay in the emotional strife for a little long, since handstand looks like a fun song title. We could be getting the start of a new relationship after the old relationship left Miley feeling stranded, a thousand miles away from where she started perhaps and then she sees... you and it changes something in her enough to write an entire song about you. This song is going to be more upbeat than the previous song but less upbeat than the next song.
Track Six: Handstand
Okay, I'm honestly getting sex vibes from this title. If I know Miley, this is a sex song. There is no way she titled a song called handstand (followed by river... what's flowing like a river, miles?) and it's about sex in some way shape or form. The first thing that pops into my mind is doja cat's song "handstand" which is definitely a sex song. This is really all I have to say on the matter. It's gunna slap.
Track Seven: River
This also has a video so I think it's going to be another fun bop of a song like flowers was. River is also giving me sex vibes and I've seen the still for the music video and it's giving seduction. I'm getting seduction vibes from this title, maybe miley is trying to get you to sleep with her. The next song is giving sapphic sex vibes so I'm thinking miley is giving us just a horny ass album honestly.
Track Eight: Violet Chemistry
I would bet 100,000 dollars that this song is about fucking women. That's all I have to say.
Track Nine: Muddy Feet (feat. Ableist Sia)
I refuse. Fuck Sia.
Track Ten: Wildcard
Bait and switch. Miley is a wildcard, this is another theme that was also present in her plastic hearts album so I think this song is going to be a come-down from the high of that really horny run in the middle there, which tracks with her pubic life and what we know about her. So I'm thinking after whatever happened in track nine, she bolts and runs out of town like an outlaw. Slower melody, maybe fun experimentation since she's a wildcard.
Track Eleven: Island
I don't know if she'd wait until this track to say the words "endless summer vacation," especially with muddy feet and wildcard coming right before island (which can also mean stranded on an island, i'm an island means you're standing alone/implies solitude). I'm not sure where else it could come up though... hmm, maybe rose colored lenses since "endless summer vacation" is kind of an oxymoron isn't it? It can't go on forever but there is sort of an innocent hope inherent in the phrase, since summer vacation is associated with minor children. anyways, i think this song is going to be sad because the closer is called wonder woman. maybe miley finds herself here?
Track Twelve: Wonder Woman
This sounds like an emotional song about herself, maybe, lamenting at how far she has come in life? Maybe she's looking back at her "endless summer vacation" and realizing she's the only person she needed to get herself onto that island she found in the last track? I'm not sure how happy this track will be but it will definitely have a positive message behind it. It's called wonder woman after all.
Final Thoughts:
I believe I will end up liking the songs jaded, rose colored lenses, handstand, river, violet chemistry the most. I'm not sure which song I'd pick to be my favorite but jaded has a beautiful ring to it, honestly. I am most excited to listen to violet chemistry because I love me a good sapphic love song (or sex song because it feels sexy to me). I refuse to listen to muddy feet because Sia is a piece of shit and I'm extremely disappointed Miley worked with her. Being a leftist is more than just yelling fuck trump and voting blue, Miley. The people you platform is a huge responsibility that can continue to cause harm if you're not careful. I think most of the album will be poppy because that's what the album cover is giving me (it's not giving rock vibes like plastic hearts did).
