Beyond the Basics: Delving into the Strengths of Python and Java
Python and Java are two of the most prominent programming languages, each with unique strengths and capabilities. Understanding their differences and similarities can help you decide which language to learn or use for a particular project. In this article, we will explore whether Python can match Java's functionality and examine the strengths of both languages.
Considering the kind support of Learn Python Course in Hyderabad, Whatever your level of experience or reason for switching from another programming language, learning Python gets much more fun.
Tumblr media
Introduction to Python and Java
Overview of Python
Python is known for its simplicity and readability, making it an excellent choice for beginners. Developed in the late 1980s and released in 1991, Python emphasizes code readability with its significant indentation and straightforward syntax. It has gained widespread popularity for web development, data science, machine learning, and scripting.
Overview of Java
Java, developed by Sun Microsystems in the mid-1990s, is a robust, object-oriented programming language designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. Java applications are typically compiled to bytecode that can run on any Java Virtual Machine (JVM), making it a highly portable language used in web development, enterprise applications, and Android app development.
Capabilities and Use Cases
Web Development
Both Python and Java excel in web development but cater to different needs. Python’s frameworks like Django and Flask allow for rapid development cycles, making it ideal for startups and small projects. Java, with its robust frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate, is often chosen for large-scale enterprise applications requiring high performance and scalability.
Data Science and Machine Learning
Python dominates the data science and machine learning landscape. Libraries such as NumPy, pandas, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn make Python the preferred language for data-intensive applications. Java has its own set of libraries for data science (like Weka and Deeplearning4j), but it does not match Python's popularity and ease of use in this domain.
Mobile Development
Java is a primary language for Android app development, supported by a vast array of tools and libraries. Although Python can be used for mobile development through frameworks like Kivy and BeeWare, it is not as commonly adopted as Java for this purpose.
Enrolling in the Best Python Certification Online can help people realise Python's full potential and gain a deeper understanding of its complexities.
Tumblr media
Performance and Scalability
Execution Speed
Java often outperforms Python in execution speed due to its compiled nature. Java code is compiled into bytecode, which the JVM executes, leading to faster and more efficient performance for many applications. Python, being an interpreted language, tends to be slower but is generally sufficient for applications not requiring high performance.
Scalability
Both languages support scalable applications, but they approach scalability differently. Java’s concurrency model, based on multi-threading, is well-suited for large-scale, concurrent applications. Python’s Global Interpreter Lock (GIL) can limit multi-threaded applications, but it manages concurrency through multiprocessing or asynchronous programming with frameworks like asyncio.
Community and Ecosystem
Library and Framework Support
Both Python and Java have extensive libraries and frameworks that extend their capabilities. Python’s ecosystem is particularly strong in data science, machine learning, and rapid prototyping. Java’s ecosystem excels in enterprise-level applications and performance-critical systems.
Community and Learning Resources
Both languages benefit from large, active communities and a wealth of learning resources. Python’s community is notably welcoming to beginners, offering numerous tutorials, courses, and forums. Java’s community is robust and provides extensive support, especially for enterprise developers.
Trends and Popularity
Historical Context
Java gained popularity in the mid-1990s, becoming a staple for enterprise applications and web development. Python, although developed around the same time, was initially seen more as a scripting language and did not gain widespread traction until later.
Modern Trends
Python has surged in popularity recently due to its simplicity and powerful libraries, particularly in data science, machine learning, and web development. The growing demand for these fields has elevated Python’s status as one of the most popular programming languages today.
Industry Adoption
Java remains widely used in large enterprises, financial institutions, and for Android development. Python is extensively adopted by startups, tech companies, and academia, particularly where quick prototyping and data analysis are crucial.
Comparative Advantages
Strengths of Python
Ease of Learning and Use: Python’s simple syntax makes it easy to learn and quick to write, ideal for beginners and rapid development.
Rich Ecosystem for Data Science: Python’s extensive libraries and frameworks make it the go-to language for data science and machine learning.
Flexibility: Python is versatile and can be used for web development, scripting, automation, and more.
Strengths of Java
Performance: Java’s compiled nature and robust JVM make it faster and more efficient, particularly for performance-critical applications.
Scalability: Java’s multi-threading capabilities and stability make it ideal for large-scale, concurrent applications.
Enterprise Use: Java is widely used in large enterprises for building reliable, scalable applications.
Conclusion
While Python and Java have considerable overlap in their capabilities, each has unique strengths. Python excels in simplicity, rapid development, and domains like data science and web development. Java stands out in performance, scalability, and enterprise-level applications. Ultimately, the choice between Python and Java depends on the specific requirements of the project and the preferences of the development team. Both languages are powerful tools, and learning either (or both) can significantly benefit a programmer’s career.
By understanding the strengths and nuances of Python and Java, you can make an informed decision about which language to use for your projects and career goals. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced developer, both Python and Java offer valuable opportunities for growth and success in the ever-evolving field of programming.

Blooming In My Social Soil: How Society and Culture Affect Me
This is the third entry to my e-journal. I am Donna, and to know me better, you can scroll through my past posts!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Did I ever mention that I am the eldest daughter with two eldest brothers? It was fun, really; the power dynamics, the favour, the role model until the storm of expectations and pressure came in. As they say, mothers loved their sons and raised their daughters. raised their daughters in a way that society would accept them. Due to my gender, I am expected to take on more responsibility domestically, act as mahinhin as possible, talk as a lady would sound, and even sit demurely. Even argued that these would make me get a husband, to whom I can dedicate my life, a traditional tender Maria Clara, a true epitome of dalagang Filipina. If you are familiar with the GMA TV Series Maria Clara at Ibarra, you will notice why I identify myself as Klay, Barbie Forteza's role.
Tumblr media
I was kind of the center of attention and a main character in the family because I was the first granddaughter, especially to my paternal grandmother, nanay Angge. I'm very sure that practically everything I did was captured on a digital camera, including my first time using a walker, standing up for the first time, taking my first picture, and even eating things like my uncle's phone! How thrilled was my nanay? Well, she was the one who got me baptised!
Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems model explains how my family shaped my early years. My closest circle (microsystem) included my parents, grandmother, brothers, and aunt/uncle. The large age gap between me and my brother Roden placed him in my mesosystem, connecting our immediate environments. My mom's stories about their playful competition to babysit me illustrate this early influence. Though playful, it showed their nurturing instincts, even if it lessened as I became more independent.
Tumblr media
In my first years upon my birth, my family fostered a strong sense of security and support for my development. My father provided stability while working, and my mother, a full-time homemaker, showered me and my three siblings with affection and full attention. Her close circle of friends, my Ninangs, who constantly doted on me, also enriched my early years. This focus on family, my microsystem, a core value in Filipino culture, extended beyond our immediate household. My grandmother, aunt, and uncle lived in the same compound as us and actively participated in my upbringing, ensuring I was never far from the helping hand of a relative. Even traditional child-rearing practices, like prioritizing a mother's immediate response to my needs, reflected this cultural emphasis on close bonds. Thus, I can say that the constant support and affection built by my microsystem and mesosystem laid the foundation for the strong relationships I cherish today. However, despite the loving environment of my childhood, I noticed that a seed of gender inequality or gender role norms was unknowingly ingrained. My father's decision for my mother to stay home, while he provided financially, ingrained in me the traditional idea of gender roles. This aligns with the feminist theory when it comes to the domestic sphere, which looks at how unpaid domestic labour, or the labour of love, often performed by women, is undervalued and most of the time, overlooked, compared to paid work. While I appreciate the security and attention my mother's full-time dedication provided, feminist theory opened my eyes and allowed me to challenge these norms. It allows me to recognize that both parents can be successful breadwinners and care providers, cultivating a more equitable and fulfilling family dynamic within the microsystem and mesosystem. That understanding gives me an opportunity to envision a moment when personal strengths and preferences, rather than gender, will determine household duties and professional goals. It is important to note that all I want is to be independent and financially secure on my own; I don't even want to start my own family, not anytime soon, as what my mother often prepares me for. I am aware that many people still live by the sexist notion that having children is the essence of being a woman, but I believe that women can influence society in a variety of other ways owing to our intellectual capacity and gracious hearts. Like Klay, a character who redefined femininity, I am a true Filipina but a modern Maria Clara, and no stereotypes can hold me back from embracing my heritage while forging my own path.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Growing up in a Filipino-based culture has instilled a unique blend of strong mindset and challenges in my journey of personal growth. The phrase "bahala na, may plano si Lord" gives off a positive approach to adversity. I see it as a cultural coping mechanism that allows me to believe that a higher being will help me, thus making me persevere even in difficult situations (do your best, God will do the rest!). This quality has undoubtedly played a role in my journey in the academe. When faced with the slightly unexpected challenge of being placed on the unfitting, technically my fault, academic track for my dream career as a flight attendant, I channelled my "bahala na, may plano si Lord" spirit. The most difficult part of my educational endeavour happened when I entered senior high school. I thought that the best way to be a Flight Attendant was to pursue the academic track, HUMSS. Little did I know that the ABM strand was more appropriate, as it is under the Business and Management field. Naturally, after learning this, I pleaded and asked the institution if I could shift, but because of the strict management, nothing happened. I still remember the Prefect of Discipline's remarks on me; he was one of the terror teachers there, so imagine the words delivered loudly I heard! Knowing that there was not much of a choice, my parents made me choose between two things: pursue HUMSS or take a year off. I chose HUMSS and graduated as the overall rank 4 in the whole batch, ranked third in our strand, and second in our class, a testament to my ability to adapt, overcome, and trust the process (AKA God's plan). True enough, it is actually staying in this course that made me decide to pursue the Psychology course, which made me enter the prestigious university, the University of the Philippines.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, the famous Filipino culture's inclination to romanticize resilience may also be an unhealthy way of reasoning. There were moments in my life when I felt like accepting the bare minimum and underappreciation might result from the expectation to just get by. I found changing courses was not an easy option in the strict academic system. Even though I eventually succeeded at HUMSS, this experience gave me the will to fight for the things I want. The stage of acceptance took a long time. I honestly feel the strand was not initially an attractive path for me until I found a network of support that taught me to be happy and made me realize that the strand is afterall, worth pursuing.
True enough, I excelled in this course, and I can proudly say that I belong in the HUMSS strand; I am a HUMANISTA. The challenge for my goals was one of the factors in my decision to pursue a degree in psychology. My interest in social dynamics and human behavior was sparked by my success in HUMSS, given our lots of outside activities involving people. I decided to study psychology because of this passion as well as the conclusion that the course you graduate from does not necessarily define your eligibility to apply to an airline—although it may be an advantage to be in ABM.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My growth was fostered by my heritage, and the society and culture I grew up in undoubtedly had an impact on me, but I am also learning to achieve a balance between my known traditions and beliefs and my goals as I blossom into a career woman who defies limitations.

Abstract Fusion of Science, Engineering, and Open-Source Innovation
Tumblr media
Summary:
Science and Better World: The intersection of science and engineering creates architectural marvels like the Burj Khalifa and Eiffel Tower, inspiring personal scientific pursuits, and experiments from a young age, influenced by a father with a deep interest in history, cultures, and technology.
Scenes behind Open-source Projects: The author's career journey reveals the impact of open-source projects in the software industry, highlighting the transition of these projects into major corporate ventures and the importance of strategic approaches for their success.
Future of Open Source and General Science: The next decade is expected to see a fusion of general science and software in open-source projects, offering practical solutions to real-world problems and positioning stakeholders to effectively navigate future uncertainties.
Science and Better world:
Teaching kids about science is a natural process. However, very few people explore science as a pursuit. Science and Engineering are two distinct areas: one begins with theory, while the other starts with execution. Both are jointly used to build significant structures. The Burj Khalifa, Eiffel Tower, and Golden Gate Bridge all embody a blend of theory and execution. Common people marvel at these structures, yet they are often unaware of the many underlying facts, failures, iterations, and contributors. A view from the top of the Burj Khalifa, a fine wine at the top of the Eiffel Tower, and a beautiful sunset near the Golden Gate Bridge can make life memorable.
Various civilizations around the world have explored science in diverse ways, often preserving their knowledge in scripts rich with literature. My father, a history and English teacher, nurtured my understanding of great cultures such as the Egyptians and the Japanese. He has a keen interest in new gadgets and machines, with hovercrafts being his favorite. Inspired by his enthusiasm, I developed a curiosity for science myself. At 12, I ingeniously crafted a mini stick launcher using matchstick powder and a glass tube, repurposed from a part of a broken glass bulb. I diligently collected these bulbs, safely extracted the tubes, and fashioned them into stick launchers. However, my experimental journey ended abruptly after a minor accident halted my fun project.
Scenes behind Open-source projects:
At the onset of my career, I often pondered why we couldn't build larger-scale projects. Initially, I didn't quite grasp what 'big' truly meant. In the realm of software, I observed numerous developers contributing to open-source projects, creating robust software that rivaled that of major corporations. Eventually, these large corporations started to engage with open-source communities, exemplified by Oracle's acquisition of Sun Microsystems and MySQL. During a conference in San Francisco, I had the opportunity to discuss with a prominent engineering leadership speaker the prospects of pursuing a career in open source. His response, deeply rooted in enterprise perspectives, was enlightening.
Open-source projects necessitate a strategic approach. Many of today's most successful projects, including OpenAI, Chromium, Android, Flutter, Node.js, and Python, Golang, Spring have their foundations in open source. However, their implementations often diverge from open-source principles. These projects have transformed into Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, commercial tools, and data-centric platforms, underscoring data as the modern 'oil'. To achieve such magnitude, a three-step strategy is essential, one that secures a non-competitive stance and facilitates seamless expansion and research for providers. A notable instance of this is Chromium, an open-source project that has spawned several derivatives, including the Chrome browser, Edge browser, and Chrome OS, VSCode.
Navigating open source without a strategy can be challenging. The 2020-2030 decade is expected to witness a continuous influx of new products. Employing an open-source strategy can empower researchers to develop multi-solution applications. In this decade, a fusion of General Science and Software, offering practical solutions and addressing real-world problems, can place stakeholders in a strong position to navigate through uncertainty.

The Bat family want to get ahead of this new ghost phenomenon, just it case it spills over into Gotham (ignoring the explicit "leave the freak Microsystem and Alpha Ghost Kid alone" instruction). They travel to Amity Park on a fact-finding mission under the guise of the Wayne clan (I would recommend using Bruce [duh], Tim, Cassandra, and Stephanie [and Duke Thomas if you know him]). Perhaps they could invite themselves to be gusts at the Mansons. Sam could hang out with the Wayne kids, and they meet her friends. Then Bruce could ask for an introduction to the Dr's of Fenton Works, too offer them to be contractors for Wayne Enterprises. It probably wouldn't take the family to deduce Phantoms secret identity.
I'm just imagining Tucker joking that All Rich People Know Each Other and then this happens and he's like I TOLD YOU
Sam the feral gremlin fucking around with other feral gremlins, all of whom have very weird skill sets and abilities from their various experiences fighting villains but nobody wants to bring it up because nobody wants to bring attention to their own weird skills sets and abilities
I love the idea of all these crime fighting teens just parkouring across the neighbourhood for fun and coming up with exceedingly ridiculous excuses for why they can backflip across rooftops or climb walls with little to no footholds
the Batfam are just talking about how weirdly competent this three Amity kids are and Batman is mentally sizing them up for Robin and Batgirl costumes

Just WHO is CLARZ?
I asked people from different groups within my microsystem (refer to my old blog) for words/phrases they would use to describe me and I made a list of their responses.
I can say that I agree with being moody/unpredictable, stubborn, outspoken and corny the most. I'd like to say I’m a gemini when my friends say im moody or unpredictable but it’s really just in my nature. My mood changes so quickly I don’t even know why or how myself. I can also get a bit stubborn which isn’t nice. I’m outspoken when it comes to issues I know I researched on, or expressive with thoughts but not so much with my feelings. I’m also a bookworm, a corny person, and a procrastinator.
I disagree with wise, since it’s different from being “smart”. I’m still dumb and naive with a lot of things in life and I can get pretty childish at times so I feel like I’m not really wise. I didn’t think of myself as amiable as well, I just thought I don’t look as friendly as an amiable person should be. I also can’t say I’m outgoing because I’m not; socializing drains the soul out of me even though it’s fun most of the time. I’m also not pretty and I’m conyo only when that’s how I can better express myself.
After going through the list and reflecting on which I agree and disagree with, my perspective of myself changed. When our prof asked us before to describe our identity, I honestly can’t think of anything. I never had a sense of who I am apart from the bits and pieces the people around me say from time to time. I realized that I can be a different person when surrounded by different people, but that does not make me a fake person that chooses to hide my other selves; I’m just choosing to show the ‘me’ that can best bond or communicate with who I am with. All the ‘me’ they described, is who I really am and many more, rolled into one. I am reminded that who I think I am, other people may say or see otherwise, but that’s what makes me more unique than I thought. The list helped me rezlize the not-so-good things I need to work on to be a better person, but nevertheless, I am happy with who I am right now.

Conceptions of the Self through Spreads
If you’ve followed me at all you know I like frameworks. I have some that I’ve developed or worked with for many years but there are others I consult less regularly and still enjoy. The following are spreads based on models I’m not an expert in. I present them here mostly as a way to introduce people to the ideas they contain. If you like any of them, I encourage you to explore it more deeply and see how it can be helpful to the shadow work you might be doing.
These are meant to be fun and I’ve not tried each of them personally yet so I can’t vouch for them. But I hope they inspire people to develop their own conceptions of self.
Psychoanalytic
Tumblr media
Ego – the part of the self that we normally think of as “the self; it is the self as we known ourselves to be
Superego – the part of the self that’s co-created with other; shaped by social acceptability and how we’re raised to think and act.
Id – the part of the self that is below conscious awareness but that influences our behavior, often deals with unseemly desires or parts of the self that are too socially unacceptable to even acknowledge
If you liked my Four Fear Types post, you’ll like Pete Walkers work. It builds on the psychoanalytic/psychodynamic theory of the self. He puts forward the idea that in people who’ve experience abuse or neglect early on, the Ego is diminished and the Superego takes its place. The Superego in some models is synonymous with the Inner Critic.
Self Discrepancy Theory
Tumblr media
Own Actual – how you actually are, what patterns you currently have, what is realistic for you
Own Ideal – how you view yourself to be, your higher self, your best self
Own Ought – how you feel you should be, the standard that you hold yourself to
Other Actual – how you actually are with others, what’s realistic for you with others
Other Ideal – how others view you to be in the best light, how other idealize you
Other Ought – how others think you ought to be, the standard they hold you to
The Wikipedia page for this is actually really good for this theory. It has a really good chart for examining types of conflict that occur between the selves in this model. I’d really suggest supplementing this reading with it. I like this one because it points out that the self doesn’t exist in isolation, it’s constantly evolving and being co-created with others in your life for better or worse.
Elemental
Tumblr media
Earth – Home, Family, Finances, Physical Health
Air – Intellect, Communication, Logic, Anxiety/Attachment
Fire – Passion, Spirituality, Drive, Anger
Water – Emotions, Intuition, Romance, Fluidity
Spirit – Core Self, Energy, Connection to the Universe
I like the classical elemental model of the self sometimes. It can help to understand my life is not one set of experiences of efforts. It’s not singular in any way. It’s a good way to check in with myself and make sure I’m dividing my energy among different areas and not neglecting anything too much. I don’t use it too often but I still enjoy it. Apply your own training with it and create your own spread if you want. I’d love to see more variations with this one.
Socioecological
Tumblr media
Individual – the Self, your characteristics
Microsystem – Family, School, Church, Friends, Job
Mesosystem – Neighbors, Family Friends, Friends of Friends, Network
Exosystem – Mass Media, Industry, Local Politics
Macrosystem – Culture, Societal Ideals and Values
Chronosystem – Life transitions like divorce/marriage/death/birth, your history
One of my favorite models I learned during my brief stint in social work. The idea is that the self is created and influence across multiple nesting levels of influence. The bigger the level, the broader and all encompassing the influence but the less acute it generally is. Chronosystem kind of bucks that trend a little a lot of people don’t use it. But I liked using this as a model for the self because again it reminds us that we’re influenced by a whole host of people and our selves are not created in isolation.
Myers-Briggs
Tumblr media
Energy – Where you gather your energy
Information – How you gather your information
Mode of Synthesis – How you work through information
Action – What you do with information
This one is purely for fun. I enjoy Meyers-Briggs even if it’s been pretty well debunked. Some folks might now know what area each letter roughly corresponds to. This was how it was explained to me by a woman who used to travel to different companies to administer the test and give seminars for employees on how to use it. I find the idea that we’re defined by our energy and how we interact with information really interesting, so I included this one here.
Conclusion
I hope these were an entertaining way to learn about some models of the self. If you’re an expert in any of these models and you want to expand on them – especially with regards to how they’ve influenced your shadow work – please reblog and add on! I only have a passing familiarity with these but they’re important enough I wanted to mention them.
As always, take the best and leave the rest and if you have any questions let me know!
A big thank you to all my Patrons! This post wouldn’t have been possible without sewceress in particular!

Family Counseling (16)
A/N: Here it is! The last one!
I’d just like to start this out by saying that this was never meant to turn into what it is now. It honestly was intended to remain in my Notes app on my Mac. I honestly wrote it as a joke, a way to derail my studying for exams because who likes to study????? And then I decided wth and people actually liked it????? It’s still crazy to me. The fact that people have developed such an affinity for this book, the love I’ve received, it’s all so humbling and I appreciate every read, like, reply, reblog. Everything.
I also wanna send a special shoutout to my chicas @onyour-right and @hutchj whose comments always had me rolling and G, who just...gets me and my loca self. You ladies are awesome sauce! (Do people even still say that anymore? Dios, I’m getting old.)
This one ends on a note that doesn’t feel like an ending because I totally expect to write a few oneshots to show where all of these lovely characters are and such.
Lastly, I decided to have a little fun by included a few GIF’s in here. However, the non-T’Challa ones are not meant to imply that’s how the characters look. As always, picture who you want! :)
Okay, I’m done. I swear. Just, thank you all again! You truly made this story!

“So does discipline.”
“You would know, huh?” He smirked as he snaked a muscled arm around her waist and pulled her to his side.
“Stop it.” She struggled to hide her smile as he managed to snuggle his head into her neck, planting a kiss on her collarbone. “Professionalism, Erik.”
“Aight.” He retreated while allowing the pads of his fingers to trail alongside the small of her back. “Then that’s Mr. Stevenson to you.”
She cut her eyes at him and decided to toy with him, turning her body around and crossing her arms, purposely pushing her breast together, knowing that he could see down her shirt.
“I thought it was daddy?”
She smiled in satisfaction when his jaw clenched, the insurmountable amount of control it was suddenly taking for him to not drag her smartass into one of those classrooms and-
“Umm,” the two turned around to see the assistant to the dean of the school starting at them with apprehension. “I’m sorry to disturb you two-“
“Then don’t.” Erik huffed and looked back at Nareema who scowled in disappointment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What is it?” She probed with the kindness that Erik often lacked with people outside of his Microsystem.
“There is, well, I, the twins-“
At that, Erik gave the woman his immediate attention.
“Where are they?”
Nareema saw the other women gulp. “They are not in any danger. I can assure you of-“
“Well do us both a favor by assuring us where they are and answering the damn question,” Erik growled.
“Erik....”
“They are in the dean’s office-“
“And she wishes to speak with us?” Nareema finished before motioning for one of the other instructors to watch the children in their absence. “Take us to her.”
The walk to the principal's office was silent, both Erik and Nareema trying their damn hardest to control their temper.
After all, they both knew what it was about.
However, in the midst of walking, Erik stilled, causing Nareema to do the same.
She frowned and looked up at him. “What is it?”
“We’ve been down this road twice already. This the third time.” He raised his brow. “I think it’s time we let them handle it.”
Her eyes burned with hesitation. “They put us in charge of them. We can handle this.”
“But should we?” Erik challenged. “Seems like shit is only exacerbating, and I’m not gon’ lie, I’m getting fed up.”
Naremma quieted. She knew what that meant. He was ready to turn that place inside out, not that she could blame him. Even she was starting to detect a recurring theme.
“You’re right.” She relented, shoo’d away the assistant, and stared him in the eyes. “Make the call.”
+++++++++
Neither Y/N nor T’Challa knew that the other would be at the school. As far as the queen knew, he husband was away on a mission, not scheduled to return for a mother three days.
T’Challa assumed his cousin had called only him as both knew Y/N would be in the midst of a training session with older students at the mutant school. Plus, T’Challa had communicated with him that he’d be returning him earlier than expected.
After all, T’Challa could certainly handle whatever problem transpired at the central school concerning his children.
Problem….that word used in the same sentence as his heirs incensed the king, partially because his mission was successful but stressful.
All he wanted was to be reunited with his wife and kids. Instead, he’d only been home for a few hours, training with the White Wolf when Erik informed him that he needed to get to the school asap.
Consequently, he wasn’t in the best mood, showing up still in his Black Panther suit, remnants of his prior training session evident by the purple colors that represented stored kinetic energy.
Similarly, Y/N was also not in the best mood. She’d been unusually exhausted during her training with the students, almost slightly irritated and for no good reason. Her school was thriving, the attendees praising everything from the staff to the method of instruction, and was even working on a proposal for the council to propose opening up another school.
So when Erik interrupted her session to tell her that there was a problem over at the main school and her babies were involved, she was only further provoked.
She quickly handed the reigns over to her other teachers and headed straight for Central.
As Bast would have it, both the king and queen arrived at the school, both with quite the entrance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/N was the first to say something, her head tilting to the side as she approached her husband. “T’Challa?” She blinked a few times to steady her powers, the lightning in the background gradually subduing. “What are you-“
She was silenced by her husband closing the distance between them, his lips claiming hers in a fierce display of hunger and possessiveness.
When he pulled away, Y/N was left partially discombobulated, her hands holding onto his arms to maintain her balance.
“Hi.” He breathed almost bashfully from his spontaneous act, not that he regretted it. He’d truly missed her and seeing her, her arrival, the power that emanated from such a tiny woman, and the enticing aura that surrounded her was practically too much.
Y/N mirrored his crooked smile. “Hello.” She brought her hands down to hold his. “I take it your mission went well?”
“It did.” He confirmed with a voice that indicated she would receive the full story later. “I assume Erik contacted you…”
Her smile dropped as she was reminded of the purpose for their being there. “He did.” He watched as her suit suddenly faded away, replaced by regal attire, the only remnants left being the silver cuffs that mimicked his Panther Habit.
Kudos to the forever brilliant Shuri.
“We should get in there.” She nodded to the entrance.
T’Challa also dismantled his suit, his ensemble just as majestic as his counterpart.
“We should.”
Together the two walked in, their heads held high, the authority that was imbued in such a pairing virtually undeniable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
T’Challa’s strength as a warrior and a king was subliminal but lucid, various displays of what he was capable of shown throughout the years either through diplomatic arrangements or combat out on the field. Wakanda and her neighbors learned that while their ruler was benevolent, he was also stringent when it came to discipline.
It’d been almost six years since King T’Challa had sentence Nakia and her father, one a longtime trusted diplomat and the other the once love of his life, to a lifelong sentence, the first of its kind in centuries.
Their treacherous acts toward the royal family and the livelihood of Wakanda herself were not to be taken lightly and T’Challa was forced to send a message to whomever else might have contemplated repeating such atrocities.
Though he held a good public facade, it was slightly difficult for him in the days following his public decree. He’d known Nakia his entire life, regarded her father as his second Baba. Her betrayal, the severity of her hate for his family, it was a hard pill to swallow.
He also struggled with the burden of being the one to end Damon’s life. Truthfully, he wanted to. He wanted to kill the man for the role he played in causing so much heartache to not only himself but those he loved. However, when he readied to deliver the fatal blow…he could not do it.
He’d made and broken so many promises, committed so many treacherous acts, held so many secrets. He could not kill the man for simply navigating through a playing field that he himself partially paved.
He knew that Y/N would want to try to work with Damon, her brother, this newfound family member that despite being hellbent on bringing nothing but pain, she wanted to help.
The similarities between the siblings and the cousins were startling and it was the profound progress she’d made with Erik conjoined with his desire to stop causing her pain that allowed him to spare Damon.
He’d offered the troubled man a second chance of redemption, family, hope.
And initially, T’Challa believed the man would accept the offer. He was pleased, but at the last minute, Damon proved that he truly was beyond the brink of return.
The twin spotted Erik carrying an unconscious Y/N to the jet and unearthed a Wakandan weapon that he must have received from Nakia and readied to aim it toward the queen.
T’Challa’s protective instincts kicked in as he quickly disarmed Damon, using the speared side of the object to impale his wife’s brother.
It was an acrid moment, one that eerily mimicked his own final battle with Erik. Except there was no happy ending. Damon died that day, too consumed by his hate to see reason.
T’Challa didn’t have to tell Y/N the outcome of his fight with her brother. She just knew. He’d felt helpless as she mourned his death, partially because he did not share the extent of her pain. He understood why she was hurting. It was in her nature to want to help people, to save them, and the fact that she could not save her own flesh and blood devastated her.
He continued to put himself in her situation, replacing Damon with Erik and how he fought hard to redeem his cousin.
On top of everything, T’Challa was on thin ice with Y/N, her trust in him all but gone. Not that he could blame her. His actions had set a chain of events that not even he could have predicted. It took time for them to work through their problems, weeks before her eyes regained that spark that he’d used to seeing whenever he was around her. Months before she was comfortable with being intimate, and almost a year for things to relatively return to normal.
However, he took it all with the ownership that it required. He knew that her lack of trust was not just because of him. No, she was also scarred by the truths concerning Hodari, his actions before her birth devastating her.
Of course, she could never find it in her to completely cut the man off. He’d committed heinous acts over the years, but he was still her father, the only blood relative she had living.
She eventually forgave him.
Granted, the relationship was not as strong as it once was. She remained cordial with him because she wanted him to be a part of the twin’s lives, but that was about it.  T’Challa had a feeling the father-daughter dynamic they once had would never return, forever damaged.
However, he retained his position as one of T’Challa’s advisors with the caveat that he would have 24/7 surveillance when acting on behalf of Wakanda.
This decision was well-received by the council as Hodari was a trusted member for years. The decision that wasn’t well-received was the royal couple’s decree that the council would not only receive a new representative from the River Tribe to replace Nakia’s father, but another member to serve as a liaison for Wakanda and America.
Erik
T’Challa knew from his arrangement and partnership with his cousin that the man truly was a changed individual. He had his faults, yes, but he was calmer, less irate, no longer set on vengeance.
And both men owed it all to Y/N. She’d truly help transform a lost soul, and T’Challa was beyond sure of that when Erik attempted to return the Panther Habit to he, Y/N, and Shuri.
He was shocked when they told him that it was his to keep, to be used to help protect Wakanda when T’Challa was away.
Erik was slightly taken back by it, almost as shocked as he was when Y/N threw herself in front of him. To protect him.
When he asked her why, her answer stayed with him.
“Because you’re my family, and that’s what family does. We protect each other.”
Erik quickly earned the trust of the council, securing his position as well as continuing to fulfill his role with the mutant school.
And in the years since, there had been virtually no incidents, no major threats against any of the tribes give or take a few minor disputes.
Whatever the case, the people adored their king for his wisdom and his strength and the few who somehow thought it wise to challenge the man learned the difficult lesson that it truly was not for nothing that he held the mantle of the Black Panther.
Y/N was another interesting case. Once rejected by a many, she’d become a beloved queen, a goddess to some. The manifestation of the full extent of her powers changing her in one major way. Her afro, once a radiant black, was completely white. From the roots to the ends. Shuri had initially tried a plethora of methods to revert the color, but nothing worked.
It took Y/N a short bit to adjust, but she eventually accepted her new color and embraced it.
As she did with her powers, working with her sister-in-law to test what she could do as well as learning how to control the gifts.
She’d decided the best way, one of them, was to train with the students. As they were learning about their mutations, so was she. It created a reciprocal environment that established trust and respect.
People still wondered why T’Challa chose an “outsider” as his bride, their queen, the mother of his children. However, no one questioned her contributions to their society and the positive impact that she continued to make.
Not to mention, the power she possessed, power that she’d demonstrated on more than one occasion only to ensure the country that she truly was no threat but that she was more than capable of protecting them in the king’s absence.
Bast forbid the two teamed up, husband and wife dominating the training field whenever they decided to amuse the public by making their sessions public.
Apart, they were formidable, but together they were indomitable.
“I have a feeling this will not go well.” Y/N whispered after she and T’Challa spent a few minutes speaking with the children who came to greet the king and queen.
T’Challa glanced down at his wife. “Why is that?”
“When have you ever known Erik to contact us?”
The king was silent. “Nareema’s influence….”
“She is not a magician, my love.” Y/N retorted as she tried not to think of the worst, but she just had a nagging feeling she was about to become even more annoyed.
They walked in silence as they approached the office, where the assistant was busy working on paperwork and kept her head down as she frantically shuffled through folders.
“Take a seat, and I’ll be with you in just a minute.”
“I think you can sacrifice a moment, eh?” T’Challa teased while Y/N smiled in amusement.
The overworked woman’s head snapped up, her eyes wide with embarrassment. “Forgive me-“ She sputtered, standing up, almost tripping over the wheels of her chair as she gave the royal couple the salute. “I did not realize-I meant no-“
“It is alright,” Y/N attempted to quell the young woman’s nerves as she dragged her eyes to the door that lead to the dean’s office. “I take it she is in there?”
“Huh? Oh, yes! Of course! You may enter, your highness.” She gulped and clasped her hands behind her back. “Both of you, of course.”
“Thank you.” T’Challa nodded as he motioned for Y/N to walk in first, chuckling when a breeze swept past them, forcing the cracked door open.
“Hello Ramla.” Y/N greeted as the woman looked up from her desk as she ripped her glasses off, visibly disturbed when she saw the king and queen standing in her office.
“Your Majesties,” she stammered and stood to her feet, bowing her head. “I…was unaware that the prince had phoned you. I apologize for the intrusion.”
“Any situation involving our children is not an intrusion,” T’Challa spoke smoothly, pulling out the chair for his wife as the two sat down.
“Of course.” Ramla’s mouth formed into a tight smile. “Well, I am sure the prince relayed to you the incident in question.”
“He just mentioned the twins were involved in some type of disagreement with four other students.”
“Disagreement is one way to put it,” Ramla commented, taking Y/N by surprise with her accusatory tone. “N’Yami electrocuted two of the students and Azari tackled the other two, your children causing minor injuries to the other students.”
Y/N and T’Challa slowly brought their eyes to look at one another.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’d both spent the past two or so years working with the twins, trying to assist them in managing their gifts. Obviously, it was no easy task. T’Challa especially struggling at times to help his son handle his abilities as an empath, the prince often times unable to control his actions once he detected heightened emotions from those he cared about.
Azari did not have all of the abilities as his father, but he was faster, stronger, more agile than other children his age. There were instances where he would leave small dents in the wall or break a few toys (before Shuri made all of them infused with vibranium) when he was upset or he picked up on one of his family members being upset.
“A caretaker who was on the playground when it occurred stated that N’Yami attacked first-“
“She does not attack. Not intentionally.” Y/N interjected because she knew that for a fact. Her daughter was quiet, soft-spoken, fragile even. The queen also spent a lot of time helping her child control her gifts, but N’Yami was always hesitant to use them even in practice sessions with her mother.
Her greatest fear was hurting someone.
“Then how do you account for the other students’ injuries?” Ramla quipped a brow. “Your daughter was the only mutant child on the premises with weather manipulation abilities.”
“Our daughter is also a member of the royal family and you will address her as such.” T’Challa quickly corrected, no longer willing to overlook the dean’s disrespect.
“Just as you would do well to remember before whom you speak, Ramla.” Y/N challenged.
“My apologies.” Both the king and queen could see she really was not apologetic. “But surely you can see the issue. This is the third incident involving the tw-prince and princess.” Ramla quickly caught herself. “As a result, I am suggesting that they no longer participate in Exchange Program.”
“Excuse me?” Y/N questioned. The Exchange Program was an initiative that she’d started only a few months ago where a group of students from the mutant school and central school would spend the day at each other’s premises. It was developed as a means to help the children not feel so separated from each other and was going relatively well aside from the incident with the twins.
“Surely you understand my decision. I must do what is best for the safety of my students.”
T’Challa narrowed his eyes as he understood what she was implying with her ‘my’. The twins did not attend the central school so she saw no need for her to concern herself with them.
“Tell something, Ramla.” He started off. “This is the third time the twins have been involved in an altercation while on your premises, yes?”
She nodded. “That is correct.”
“And the other students…are they the same children who were named in the previous two incidents?”
Silence
“I believe your king asked you a question.” Y/N chimed.
She finally spoke. “Yes, but-“
“And the twins have had zero problems over at the Alternative School.”
“Well, of course. The students’ there are all like them.” The Dean answered in response to Y/N’s comment.
“And what? Mutant children misbehave when around non-mutant children?” Y/N said. “I think the point my husband is trying to make is perhaps our children are not problem.”
“Have you spoken to or disciplined the others?’
“Under what guise?”
“Under the guise that the twins are not responsible for all of the blame.” Y/N found herself growing irritated by the second. “We will speak to them, of course, because we do not condone them injuring other children, but make no mistake that you also have an obligation to speak to the other parties involved.”
“With all due respect-“
“That was not a suggestion, Ramla.” T’Challa informed as he stood up, extending his hand to help Y/N rise. “It is in your best wishes to further investigate these incidents.”
He and Y/N turned around to exit when the dean called out for them.
“And…if I do not?” Her voice was full of irritation rather than apprehension.
Y/N looked up at T’Challa momentarily caught off guard by the peculiar look her husband was giving her. His eyes were squinted, his head slightly tilted as he eyed her from head to toe as if he were listening to something.
Or for something.
She eventually broke from his gaze and politely responded with a -
“Then we will find someone who will.”
+++++++++
Erik and Nareema decided to take the twins away from where their parents would be, mostly because T’Challa wanted his premature return being a surprise.
They also figured it’d be a good chance for them to get their side of the story.
“So what they say to you?” Erik questioned the little princess who walked beside him in the Woods of Solitude. “And I want the truth.”
N’Yami kept her head down, her brown eyes glued to the greenery of the forest. “They said I’m not a real princess and that Baba really goes away a lot to find another little girl because….”
Erik stopped walking and got on one knee. “Because what?”
“Because I’m a freak.”
He shut his eyes and turned his head to the ground. He didn’t need to hear the rest of the story because he knew how the twins operated. Azari felt his sister’s distress and lashed out at the little bastards. From there, the stress of it all probably resulted in N’Yami accidentally unleashing her powers. “Little motherf…..they’re just stupid, alright? Don’t pay them no mind. They just said that to get you upset.”
Finally, she looked up, the spitting image of both her mother and father, her long hand tied in two braids that cascaded down her back and were connected by a large bow. “Are they gonna be okay?”
Erik chuckled. She truly was her mother’s child. Those children had picked with her, probably made her cry, and left her feeling inferior. Yet there she was wondering about their safety.
“Yeah…they’ll be fine.”
She said nothing as she moved to sit on his leg that was propped up, prompting Erik to move one hand to support her back before she scooted closer to his chest. “Uncle Erik.”
“Yeah.”
“Why don’t people like us?”
The question caught him off guard just as N’Yami did.
Not even he could explain the strange but strong connection he had with the child. It was speculated by Y/N that it was due to the fact that he was the first person to hold her, the little girl gravitating to him from the moment she woke up.
She started out as a hindrance but slowly became someone who quickly developed a strong desire to protect.
“Because they don’t like themselves.” He replied quietly while rolling his shoulders. “Trust those little brats wouldn’t be messing with you and Azari if they felt good about themselves.”
“Well, why don’t they like themselves?”
“Cause they don’t have a cool Uncle Erik to tell them how awesome and special they are.” He teased by pinching his side causing her to giggle. “Hey. Don’t worry about them, you hear me? Just continue to stunt on em’.”
She frowned. “How do I do that?”
Erik smirked and lifted her off his leg, placing his hands on her shoulders to force her upright.
“Watch and learn, lil’ bit. Watch and learn.”
+++++++++
When Nareema and Erik returned to the palace with the twins in tow, the whole crew including T’Challa, Y/N, Ramonda, Shuri, and Okoye were waiting for them.
And, of course, as soon as the five-year-olds spotted their father, they were sprinting off the jet.
“Baba!”
Naturally, T’Challa temporarily forgot the day’s earlier events as he happily gathered his children in his arms.
“We missed you,” N’Yami informed as she held onto T’Challa’s neck while Azari simply remained close to his father.
“Did you now?” T’Challa teased. “Anything happen while I was gone?”
At that, N’Yami’s eyes widened as her head dropped.
“You never answered the question, Baba.” Azari smartly responded as Shuri snickered from behind.
“That’s my nephew.” She said with profound pride.
“And what of I?” Y/N faked a sad sigh. “Am I not worthy of love and affection?”
“Sorry mama,” Azari apologized bashfully as he walked over to his mother and buried himself in her chest. He then looked up and shrugged, Y/N caressing his cheeks with her thumbs. He truly was the spitting image of his father. She saw nothing of herself in him. His eyes, mouth, nose, even demeanor, they were all T’Challa. “But you are always here.”
Her mouth dropped as Nareema too giggled from her position next to Okoye.
“Would you care to share something, Nareema?”
“Me? No.” She looked to Okoye. “What about you, sister?”
“Nothing at all.” The general snickered, amusement plastered on her face as she shot her sibling a wink.
“Well, I don’t suppose either of you would like to help your dear old ugogo bake some chocolate chip cookies?” Ramonda commented casually as the sets of eyes lit up.
“Cookies?” N’Yami was the first to speak as she looked between her parents. “Oh, please, can we?”
“We promise not to eat them all,” Azari added.
“Yeah! Promise!”
“Come on, cuz. They promise.” Erik chuckled as he walked past the group to head to the palace as he had other matters to tend to. He looked over his shoulder at Nareema. “You coming?”
She rolled her eyes. “Only because you asked so nicely.” She stopped when she went to walk past T’Challa, lightly hitting him on his arm. “Lighten up, old man. Let the kids live.”
However, T’Challa said nothing, staring curiously after Nareema as she and Erik walked away.
“I suppo-“
“Yay!” The sounds of the children cheering interrupted Y/N. “But we will be discussing what happened at the Central school before the end of the night, understood?”
“Yes, ma’am.” The said in unison before running over to their grandmother.
“Come, little ones.” She took them by the hands and started to head toward the palace with Okoye and a few other Doras close behind.
“Well, I have a certain boyfriend to argue with.”
“What did he do?” T’Challa immediately went into defensive mode. He might have approved of his sister’s relationship with M’Baku’s brother, but that didn’t mean he had to like it.
“Nothing.” She smiled wickedly. “See you at dinner.”
Y/N shook her head as she approached her husband and wrapped her arms around his waist. “Our family is…interesting, to say the least.” She chuckled and looked up to see him staring down at her. “What is it?”
“You are correct, sthandwa sam. It is interesting.” A beat. “And it is also expanding.”
She frowned. “What do you…” T’Challa casually brought his hand to her stomach and lightly ran his fingers over the flat portion of her body. She snapped her head to look back and forth between his hand and his face. “Are you…how do you….are you sure?”
He nodded slowly. “I thought I heard it earlier, but I was unsure.” Her mouth fell into a smile as her eyes watered. “But it is unmistakable now. His or her heartbeat is just as strong and lucid.”
Y/N released a happy and emotion-filled breath as she realized why she’d been in such a foul mood, so exhausted, her clothes fitting tighter than normal. She and T’Challa hadn’t been trying for a child (not intentionally, at least), but she was thankful to Bast that she’d blessed them with another one.
She knew T’Challa wanted one.
“Come.” She said after planting a kiss on his lips. “I wish to tell the family.” T’Challa planted his feet as she went to pull him which prompted her to eye him with confusion. “What is wrong, love?”
“You are not the only one expecting, my queen.” He chuckled while placing his strong arms around her.
“What?” Her eyes widened. “Who?”
He said nothing and only dragged his eyes in the direction that Erik and Nareema went.
Her mouth dropped. “No!”
“I heard two sets of heartbeats, the second one only coming into range once she arrived, and it was especially loud when she touched me. I would not be surprised if she is farther along than you.”
“She can’t be. Surely, she would have told me.” Y/N whispered as she tried to process what her husband was trying to tell her. “Right?”
“You are assuming that she knows.” T’Challa chimed. “Erik and Nareema….as parents…that will be another interesting situation to watch unfold.”
“Well….they are good with the twins.”
“Yes, but the twins are not their children.”
“True.” Y/N concurred. “Regardless, we must support them. Offer as much of our advice and assistance possible.”
“I agree,” T’Challa confirmed before pulling Y/N into him. “But first, we celebrate.”
She chewed on her bottom lip as his fingers danced alongside her hips through the fabrics of her gown. “And how do you propose we do that?”
He pretended to look off and contemplate her question before lowering his head to capture her lips. “I have a few suggestions….”

#Java making a contact book app series
Community support: Since Java is an older programming language, it has a large community of developers that share valuable insights and knowledge when it comes to Java app development.Ĭhapter #2: Must-Have for Java Mobile DevelopmentĪs discussed in the previous chapter, one of the greatest benefits to using Java is its wealth of open-source tools and libraries.Open-source: Over the years, Java has amassed a great collection of open-source libraries that make java mobile apps much easier to develop. For example, a Java app can serve users a login form while also running background processes. Multi-threaded: With Java you can write applications that conduct multiple tasks in separate threads.High-performing: While Java is an interpreted language, unlike C or C++ which are compiled, it nonetheless is high performing due to its own just-in-time compiler.Secure: Since Java is platform independent and has almost no interaction with the operating system, it makes the language much more secure than other programming languages.
#Java making a contact book app code
Platform independent: Since Java programs are first converted to bytecode by the Java compiler, the code can run on any machine that supports the Java runtime environment-making it platform-independent.Everything is an “object” that contains code and data. Object-oriented: Just like with Python, C++, and Ruby, Java is an object-oriented programming language.Java has many features that make it a popular choice among both web and mobile app developers. This language uses syntax that comes from other languages like C and C++. Java was originally created by Sun Microsystems, which has since become Oracle Corporation. In short, it’s always embraced the concept of “write once, run anywhere”. Java is a class-based, object-oriented programming language that was created to carry as few dependencies as possible so the compiled Java code could run on all Java-supported platforms without the need for recompilation. In this article, we’ll review why Java is still many developer’s go-to programming language and how it stacks up against other popular languages for Android, like Kotlin.
#Java making a contact book app for android
Now, I hope you’ll have fun! Start with Part 1: Scene Builder.Even with the emergence of Kotlin as the new preferred language for Android mobile app development since 2019, Java is still widely used. Then go through the tutorial to understand the code.
fast track: Import the source code for a tutorial part into your IDE (it’s an Eclipse project, but you could use other IDEs like NetBeans with slight modifications).
learn-a-lot track: Create your own JavaFX project from the ground up.
#Java making a contact book app series
This is quite a lot! So, after you you’ve completed this tutorial series you should be ready to build sophisticated applications with JavaFX.
Deploying a JavaFX application as a native package.
Saving the last opened file path in user preferences.
Create a custom popup dialog to edit persons.
Using TableView and reacting to selection changes in the table.
Using ObservableLists for automatically updating the user interface.
Structuring an application with the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern.
Using Scene Builder to design the user interface.
This is how the final application will look like: This tutorial walks you through designing, programming and deploying an address application.
#Java making a contact book app update
So I decided to rewrite the JavaFX 2 tutorial for JavaFX 8 (read about what changed in Update to JavaFX 8 - What’s New). Many people all over the world have been reading the tutorial and gave very positive feedback. Back in 2012 I wrote a very detailed JavaFX 2 tutorial series for my students.

So Tony Blair's in town
And friggin Jonathan Schwartz won't shut his pie hole long enough for any of the rest of us get a word in. There's a story on it here that kinda gives you a hint of what it was like, but trust me, it was way worse. I'm sorry, but I gotta say this. Jonathan's got that really dangerous combination of being not very smart yet thinking he's like super, super, super smart, like the smartest person in any room he enters, ya know? I mean, have you read his blog? It's hilarious, but I don't think he means it that way. I mean this guy really, really likes himself. A lot. The ponytail is the giveaway. And God he loves to hear himself talk. Probably it's the McKinsey background. They're all like that. I always wonder what it must be like when a bunch of McKinsey consultants get together for like a barbecue or something, and they're all standing around in their conspicuous eyewear trying to act casual but at the same time trying to show how smart they are. When like, dude, if you're so smart, why don't you start a company instead of working at McKinsey and giving lectures?
Anyhoo here's the money quote from Mr. Ponytail:
"In the U.S. and especially in Silicon Valley, if you have taken a risk and you fail, you in fact become more interesting and potentially more valuable because now you know something," Sun Microsystems' Schwartz told reporters after the meeting.
Yeah so Jonathan that must make you like the most interesting and valuable person in the Valley right about now, huh dude?
Then he tells Blair he should write a friggin blog. Riiight. Like maybe he can post where the British troops are gonna be moving tomorrow or something, or he can make fun of Bush or whatever. I mean by then it was just embarrassing, and we're like wincing and wanting to apologize for the guy, but stupid Jonathan is still lecturing the Prime Minister of the U.K. like Mr. Peabody taking Sherman into the wayback machine, talking about ancient history and the Egyptians and the evolution of technology and the industrial revolution and the invention of the steam engine in England and whatever, and by then Blair is just like openly pulling faces and saying things like, Right, er, um, thanks so much Jon, er, does anyone else have anything?
I'll tell you what I said to Blair. I waited till Schwartz was finished pleasuring himself in public, and then I said, Uh, actually, Sir Tony, all that stuff he just said, that's all wrong, okay? Just pretend you didn't hear it. We only let this dude come today because he pestered the hell out of us and we felt bad for him cause his company is going out of business, and really we all kinda make fun of him behind his back. Schwartz looked sorta hurt so I said, I'm sorry, man, but it's the truth. (Meanwhile Chambers and Ruiz are like shrugging and nodding their heads, as if to say, Well, yeah, you are kind of a frigtard.) So Sir Tony, I say, I know you came here to ask us about risk-taking, but the only thing that matters is making beautiful products that blow people's minds, and you Brits know how to do this already. Look at the Jaguar, the Aston-Martin, the Range Rover. Sure, they're not reliable. But they're works of friggin art. You guys also make totally smokin movies. And music. Like, the friggin Beatles? Hello! Just cause I had a little hassle with them recently doesn't mean I don't love their music cause I do. You might notice the eyeglasses I wear, which are my way of paying tribute to a certain Mr. John Lennon. So you guys are loaded with talent. Look at Austin Powers. And Richard Branson. Talk about risk-takers. Guy called me last week from a friggin space balloon. And Wallace & Gromit? Nick Park, friggin genius, we're trying to get him to work for Pixar. So just apply your creativity to computers. That's all. I mean don't make an iPod clone, cause that's already been done. But like maybe a TiVo clone, or like a really bitchin new smartphone-slash-music-player, or, uh, wait, no, I wouldn't do that one, but anyway there's lots of cool ideas still out there to be explored. Seriously.

For millions the Internet has become their information, communication, trade and entertainment medium of choice - a wellspring from which money, meaning, power and instant gratification flow. Some have found fame, fortune, financial security and self-actualization on-line. For still others cyberspace is their virtual God. And as though that were not enough, you can have sex, too.
Although the use of the Net for sex is nothing new, the number of people engaging in cybersex is growing exponentially. For those unfamiliar with this form of high-tech sexual activity, it is the Internet equivalent of telephone sex popularized by the Clinton White House.
With cybersex your only commitment is to your own sensual pleasure. Anything goes. You neither see, hear, touch, taste nor smell your e-mail partner. The relationship can be ended with the click of the mouse.
In addition to the erotic pleasure provided by cybersex, reproductive biologists have discovered an important unexpected side benefit. Cybersex has the potential virtually to eliminate several sexually related scourges including AIDS, venereal diseases, unwanted pregnancies and abortion.
All cybersex is safe sex. Even if you don't use a condom, the risk of contracting AIDS or some venereal disease is zero. Birth control pills are anachronisms of the low-tech past for cyber enthusiasts. Indeed, no contraceptive whatsoever is necessary. Since pregnancy, whether wanted or unwanted, is not an option, abortion is a moot point.
The political implications of this latter development could prove to be profound. Since the United States Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade decision concerning legalized abortion, pro-life advocates and abortion rights activists have been locked in a never-ending, sometimes violent feud over abortion. Cybersex renders this conflict irrelevant.
The Roman Catholic Church, which opposes abortion and all forms of contraception, has yet to weigh in on cybersex.
Sexually explicit magazines such as Gallery, Hustler and Penthouse, which routinely publish accounts of cybersex exploits, are enjoying windfall gains. Everybody is doing it.
Politicians who engage in extramarital affairs are particularly attracted to cybersex. If caught in the act, a male politician can truthfully say, "I did not have sex with that woman."
Cybersex provides international public health officials and population policy-makers at the United Nations, USAID and Planned Parenthood with renewed focus. Their challenge is to make as many laptop computers available as possible for sexually active men and women living in the Third World. Their aim is to reduce the incidence of AIDS and stabilize population growth.
Recognizing the enormous financial potential of the cybersex revolution globally, so-called dot-com companies are anxious to jump on the bandwagon. The Gates Foundation will no doubt want to support the introduction of PCs into as many third World countries as possible. AOL, Cisco, Del, IBM, Intel, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems will not be far behind.
Cynics who claim that old fashioned, low-tech sex is more fun than high-tech cybersex are obviously Luddites who are out of touch with reality.

Electromagnetic Pulses (EMP) | Bullaki Science Podcast Clps with Mark Rosker (DARPA) from Bullaki on Vimeo.
Full video here: vimeo.com/bullaki/rosker
As the director of the Strategic Technology Office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (or DARPA), Dr Mark Rosker leads the office in development of develop high-performance intelligent microsystems and next-generation components to ensure U.S. dominance in the areas of Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Directed Energy (DE). The effectiveness, survivability, and lethality of these systems depend critically on the microsystems contained inside. Mark was a program manager in the office from 2003 to 2011, where he developed a portfolio of technical programs in gallium nitride and other compound semiconductor radio-frequency devices, heterogeneous circuit integration, terahertz electronics and quantum cascade lasers. Here he talks about innovations led by the DARPA’s MTO office, the Electronic Resurgence Initiative and how DARPA is supporting the 4th wave of electronic development, advances beyond the von Neumann Architecture, hardware security, new types of devices that can work at extreme temperatures, and electronics resilience towards EMP attacks. Quote: “I think you're bounded by your imagination. Of course the rules of physics have something to do with some of these things. But one of the fun things we were talking about being a Program Manager […] is to try and think bigger than you've ever had an opportunity to think before. That GPS […] sounded like science fiction at that time. And then the next generation beyond that, that said, I'm going to reduce that entire rack of equipment, to something that I can put on in my pocket. That also sounded like science fiction. So I don't want to tell you all my good ideas. They all sound like science fiction.” ****** CONNECT: - Support on Patreon: patreon.com/bullaki - YouTube: youtube.com/bullaki - Spotify: open.spotify.com/show/1U2Tnvo1PZY4Fu4QLHURJV - Apple Podcast: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/bullaki-science-podcast/id1538487175 - LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/samuele-lilliu/ - Website: bullaki.com - Minds: minds.com/bullaki/ - Vimeo: vimeo.com/bullaki - Odysee: odysee.com/@bullaki:0 ***** #bullaki #science #podcast #electronics #darpa #mto
