Fukuoka Craft The Bottom Line

If you like craft beer and/or Mexican food, and you’re in Fukuoka, then get on over to Fukuoka Craft. For the short amount of time in Fukuoka, I definitely enjoyed Fukuoka Craft the most and would happily go there again as it offers up everything I want in a craft beer bar – good beer, good service, good prices, and good food. The whole place is non-smoking, has no table charge, free WiFi, but the prices do not include tax. On top of that, the menus have enough English on them to order, while the staff will also help explain things in English too. Vegetarians and vegans didn’t worry either as there are plenty of choices on the menu too. Downsides? There are none. And that is seriously saying something from me.

Fukuoka Craft The Full Review

Pulling into Fukuoka after a few days in Kumamoto was a surreal experience so I wanted some beers. However, the weather was terrible the day I was there – heavy rain but best to soldier on and get some food and drinks in. Funnily enough, I had heard that a friend was going to be in town for a few hours and he wanted to have a beer before heading off – somewhere conveniently near to Tenjin station so Fukuoka Craft was on the list.

Fukuoka Craft opened up in July 2017 and is part of the El Borracho chain of Mexicans in Fukuoka. These Mexican restaurants are possibly some of the best in Japan, or so I had heard and as much as I love pizza and beer, Mexican food and beer could be the combo that tops it. Fukuoka Craft is located less than 10 minutes walk from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and also Akasaka station on the Fukuoka City Subway. You really can not miss this place, with its open bay windows onto the street and the smell of food coming out. The whole place is non-smoking and seats around 40 people inside, with spaces at tables, high tables, and also at the bar. There’s also free WiFi too – what is it about Kyushu and free WiFi?!

Fukuoka Craft is also a brewpub with a small brewery next door, though with 11 taps of beer, there is a split between domestic and imports. Beers come in two sizes: glass (190ml) from ¥430 and pints (470ml) from ¥780, with domestic beers being cheaper. There is also a beer flight option which gets you 4 x 80ml glasses for ¥980 and an option for 6 x 80ml glasses for ¥1,480. There’s plenty of choices on the menu in terms of styles and breweries. I didn’t notice any happy hour though and prices do not include tax, so make sure you take that into account during drinking.

Now the food – and I love Mexican food. The spices, the flavours, the smells. Fukuoka Craft specializes in Mexican food as it’s part of the El Borracho chain of Mexican restaurants and I will say this now – it’s amazing food! There are plenty of choices on the menu for Mexican fans as well as lots of vegetarian and vegan choices too. The menus do have enough English on them to order while the staff will help explain what some of the items are too if you can’t read Kanji.

テイスティングセット・ビールライトはあります。８０ｍｌを4個は980円、８０ｍｌを6個は1480円です。

ハッピーアワーもありません。持ち帰りビールもありません。
