While I think Kagurabachi has a better chance at surviving in WSJ than MaMaYuYu does at the moment (which the former has been in the Top 5 over on Mangaplus), I'm hoping that the reception on the post-Char chapters are (presumably) better and makes it climb up the rankings a little more - because if this shit dies on the chopping block I will have words for every YouTuber and Reddit andy that memed it to hell and back and into the fucking ground with their PEAK and TENOI screeching.

#if the threads on r/manga are to be believed #then the reception on the char chapters have been mixed #hence why the story hasn't touched on the auction yet #however i think rankings on chapters are usually two months behind then what is currently ranked #idk how much sway international reception has on a manga #but i'm pretty sure a manga's fate ultimately depends on the reception of the japanese reader base #big name authors be damned #fujimoto and nakatani can praise a manga like mamayuyu and bring in more readers #but if the story itself isn't maintaining the interest and holding onto that reader base #then it's really going to be for nothing #this is coming from someone that doesn't really have any strong opinions on mamayuyu itself #other than 'hey author-san maybe you should paneling it the way you want instead of trying to follow after fujimoto'#maybe that sounds harsh but that was the thought i had when i started reading it #manga #armi reads manga
