Should I learn emacs I've been coding in nano

I always recommend emacs. But depending on your use case you might want to learn something else first.

If you hop between different servers a lot and can't expect to have access to your favourite editor on there, I recommend learning the basics of vi/vim since that is preinstalled pretty much everywhere. Also, most bigger IDEs you might use in the future have a setting or extension to use vim-keybinds.

If you just want to program on your own machine, I recommend trying out a few different text-editors and then decide on one.

To learn emacs, I recommend using the built in tutorial. You can access it using C-h t (thats CTRL-h followed by t) while beeing in emacs.

To learn vim, you can use the vimtutor. I think it is automatically installed with vim on most distros, but may have to be installed separately on some. Also neovim/nvim is way better in term of extensibillity to regular vim

Other Editors you could try:

- VS Codium (Visual Studio Code fork that removed most Microsoft Stuff)

- helix - a Vim like Editor

- zed - way too fucused on AI features for my taste but I heard it has some other nice features

One thing that bothers me about dofp is how the movie is so fucused on Charles' depression (which is very well done and I love his arc btw) that it forgets that Erik spent YEARS in prison ALONE and WITHOUT HIS POWERS but somehow he was fine?? because he meditated??? Like sure, he's been through worst and I understand that narratively both of them couldn't be a mess at the same time, Erik had to be the serenity to Charles' rage this time around, but c'mon. Then there's this conversation: "It’s been a while since I’ve played" "I'll go easy on you" (the subtext is sex) Has Erik been playing chess with the prison guards or what? because otherwise it's also been a while for him.

I think it was a mistake to have Erik be in prison for that long, firstly because he had only been Magneto for like a year, which sucks (and then he goes and disapears for another decade... wtf were they thinking, I hate the time jumps) and secondly because it was never going to be adressed properly, it was just a plot device to keep him away.

It was only a few days before Christmas and apartment 8J was more than ready for the holidays. Candlelit, filled with fairy lights and with the smell of freshly baked cakes Arthur felt warmer as usual in here. But most of all he felt saver than ever because of you. Your plans to move out of his apartment to get rid of all the old memories was ongoing. Something you wanted to archive for the upcoming year. But this Christmas, his first real celebrated holidays in his life was the final goodbye to a place he would leave behind with a weight falling off his shoulders and a smile on his face. This is how he wanted to keep the place in his memory. With the warm lights, a quiet love song playing in the background and a hand to hold while sitting on the couch.

"You know" Arthur buried his face in your neck as he cuddled up closer to you "This is what I wanna remember when we move outta here next year. This moment right now. I feel like it's re writing something...."

You tried to not to let it show that you were on the verge of crying, knowing exactly what Arthur was talking about. This place was a home to you because you associated it with the love of your life. The place where you got to know him and his mannerisms when he was at home, the place where you first made love, first cooked together,the place you first slow danced in the middle of the night. But deep down you knew that to him this was anything but a place he wanted to live in. Spending all his childhood here it was something he needed to be freed from. And this was exactly what you were going to do in the near future. But not without giving it one last warm memory.

"Me too, Arthur"

"Wanna watch a movie?" he shifted in your arms and you felt his hot breath on your collarbones.

"Sure. You pick one!"

Arthur got up in his underwear and searched the stack of Video tapes on the television table. "Let's see what we have here..... Mr. Lucky, a lot more Cary Grant movies, Marie Antoinette, The wizard of Oz... Hm we just watched that.... It's a wonderful life. Have we seen that one? I can't remember...."

"No, I don't think so, Arthur. What is it about?"

"It's about this guy, George He fucks something up with money and is supposed to go to jail, so he wishes he were never born and God sends this angel, Clarance who shows George how life would have been without him in it... and it makes him realize that his life wasn't so bad after all and he had great impact on others.

"Oh, that sounds really good. Let's watch that!"

Arthur put the tape into the recorder and hurried back under the warm sheet you shared with each other.

Although the movie you couldn't help but think about how life would have been without Arthur in it. Because you knew why he choose this movie. Often times in his past he wished for the same thing. But little did he know back then how many life's he touched in a profound way. And most of all your own life. You didn't even wanted to think about were you would be without Arthur now. Meeting him was like finding back to your soulmate after thousands of years of seperation. But you were never truly seperated completely. All these lifetimes being spent you felt that your other half was out there. Maybe in another dimension even. But he was there. And he exited. You just had to find him. And you would spent eternity to do so.

Eternity lead you right here it seemed. Into apartment 8J. A place where a lot of dark things happened in the past but also a place that witnessed great love after all.

Arthur was very fucused in the movie but his hand wouldn't stop stroking your arm gently. He had the ability to compleately deep dive into a story and get so lost in it he would barely notice his surroundings anymore.

"Do you think people would miss me if I was gone?"

You couldn't belive he was even questioning it.

"Oh my god, Arthur...."

"I mean.... I know you would" he smiled "But... the world itself... I mean.... Um... Nevermind".

"Souls dont get missing in the universe, Arthur. You always exist somewhere.... But the people who had the honor to meet you before? My god. They would miss you terribly!"

"Do you really think so?"

You stroke his hair "You touched so many hearts Arthur. So many children, too."

Arthur frowned "But I don't meet a lot of people outside from work...Do you think there is a dimension where they made a movie about me?"

"Oh, probably, Arthur!"

"Wow..." he smiled "Can you imagin?"

You leaned in to kiss the corner of his lips "I can. People would watch you on the big screen and they would fall in love with you and pray for you to have a happy ending."

"Really?" he smirked "You think they would be sad for me if I was sad in the movie?"

"Of course, darling. They would be devastated".

Arthur nodded. He imagined himself in the movies. He imagined an angel coming by to take care of him.

Somehow you were his guardian angel too, he thought to himself. Making him feel save in this apartment, in this life.

Arthur cuddled up even closer to you under the green, thick blanket. He remained like this for the rest of the movie,totally relaxed in your protective arms.

As the credits rolled Arthur shifted in your arms, rested his head on your lap, looking at you for a long time until he asked "How much do you love me?"

You wrapped one of his curls around your finger.

"I love you so much that if you lived in another dimension and your life was a movie in this dimension and most people would think you are not even real, I would still dedicate my whole life loving you".

"Wow" Arthur whispered with a blissful expression on his face, as he drifted into sleep "That's a lot".

i haven’t been online much lately but anxiety is the worst….. uh why don’t you ramble a little on how you first came to like violet and cheslock and why you like them so much?

Basically while i was watching the anime...i realized the very interesting dynamic between them...sorta summarized "the queen & her dog"🥲 then i went back to manga which further confirms my theory of Vi & Cheslock, and the 2021 kuromyu just slammed me with the "u are absolutely right! And guess what, we r gonna show u sth much further of ur theory, and there r a lot of them" hammer

But tbh it started of as "i wanna see them doing seχ stuff (not exactly having seχ)"... Cheslock would be played like a responsive toy XD Cheslock's attitudes towards those little seχ games r: he does enjoy them, not intended but not rejected either

He is also much trusted by Violet ( as a perfect dog)...i wont be surprised if Vi just gradually casually dropping his prefect's work to Cheslock considering Cheslock is already doing so much nanny work (thank u 2021 kuromyu)

But note that only as a secondary role in Violet's heart, as the rest of P4 were more important then Cheslock. His attitude on sending the invitation to Cheslock during the Blue Cult arc explained that he trusted Cheslock on passing on the message to o!ciel and merely that, nothing more, in order to save themselves. Cheslock being the perfect submissive + auto-pilot + doesnt require much care dog.

*based on the cloak hat status of Violet (he let it off when feeling safe - like when he was only around with P3 or purple house students. He always had the hat on during the meetings. He put his hat on when other students arrived during the fire incident) , we can tell that its P4 > Cheslock > purple house >> other P3 fags > pupils from other houses

And Cheslock can be viewed as the amplifier of true thoughts of Violet without the P3 values and traditions. I mean including the aggressive attitudes towards students from other houses as well. Violet is somewhat the initial inspiration and motivator of Cheslock in order to let people like Cheslock being so determined to follow him. Since P3 were so important to Violet, and Violet didn't consider himself to be a rebel on face (ofc he's a prefect)(well i mean on action) he wouldn't overtly show the disagreements of the values the majority believed in.

The 2021 kuromyu had Violet complaining about the traditions: "the tuition fee is too expensive""prefects are all troublesome errands"(bro didn't care about the✨prefect✨title✨even before he became a prefect himself loll )(for Cheslock, it's after the Arden event the betrayal he witnessed when he lost his faith on prefects and the titles) thus proving the point that Violet didn't actually believe in those; he just did and follow them bcs of he weighed his P3 friends and family rules more than expressing his standpoint.

Most importantly as u can tell from the "please participate properly!" panel, their relationship is more than one-way worshiping - or at least developed til the point of Cheslock the fag is trusted enough and allowed to scold(?) talk down(?) to Violet. Their dynamic is gradually becoming more and more equal. Plus the immediate turn of Cheslock to Vi, so naturally and casually asking for compliments is just too cute🥹 he trusted Vi to be fucusing, to paying attention on him and give him praises🥹 i m sure this kinda stuff happened a lot more in their private situations

My headcanon is that the first one and two years Violet was still a normal nice student, doing his fag work and didn't violate any dresscode (if theres any (obviously)). Not exactly he was enthusiastic about it but definitely there's nothing to be picked.

After he was familiar with and thought through the smothering principles (mid 3rd year) he started to transform into the Violet that we are looking at today. During this time (mid late 3rd year) he might have swapped a number of brothers due to his slack attitudes. The one that's final might be recommended by others (his early 4th year), who is either being the respectable and understanding type, or he is just as aloof as Violet himself.

The young Cheslock, with silver hair and silver eyes, although he's still quite outgoing and flamboyant, he wouldn't dare to cross the line of social norms. He noticed Violet during the time of him kept swapping his brothers. He felt like Violet's doing something he wanted to and believed in but didn't dare to show - and that's when he was interested and wanted to be nearer to Violet.

Violet was slightly intrigued by Cheslock's appearance and approaching. He didn't care much and didn't mind sharing the opinions that he didn't want to show in front of his P3 friend gang to Cheslock. As this went on, Cheslock developed the admiration towards Violet. During the contacts, Cheslock learned to decipher Violet's non-verbal language better than anyone, including P3. He knew better what's are on Violet's mind; so it's just not surprising that he later evolved into the amplifier of Violet's true opinion. Cheslock was then finally ready to cross the line of social norms and started imitating Violet. And eventually becoming Violet's fag and the end of his 2nd year.

And for their seχ stuff/games - started with hands > mouth -> desensitised to physical contacts -> doublejerking + toys -> first base (finally!) ->> home run.

Cheslock's attitude on his first time using the backside isn't shy or being exposed, mainly adventurous or curious, that's it, not even expectation or nervousness. But most of the time it's Violet taking the dom position and riding Cheslock. Not often but he would prefer spoonhug Cheslock and top him. Cheslock likes to staaaaare at Violet during their seχ stuff - but he might not have the mental capacity to keep doing that- as Violet is pretty imaginative and creative when it comes to playing Cheslock + Cheslock's filter on Violet - body sensation escalate too intense and eventually would take over his sanity

If they graduated properly or wait til the whole drama ended, they eventually would move in together for a while (yup only for a while) - and Cheslock would do most of the chores voluntarily while remaining a submissive to Violet happily. But Violet would listen to Cheslock on the daily errands and chores stuff. After they got used to home runs, Violet learned to become a tattoo-piercing artist purely from interest. He would compromise and sometimes raise little demands like he would like to pierce Cheslock's nipplε, "if that's what senpai wants...i wouldn't mind either"

I finally started Warbreaker!!!! I've read a bit over 150 pages and it's looking really good.

For the moment I think my favourite character is Siri. She's really cute, and the parts of the book that fucuse on her are defenitly the most interesting ones. I really like Ligthsong as well, he's really funny, but at the same time there are some parts of him that are miterious and probably sad (he also gives me Adolin vibes for some reason). And then there's Vivenna. Lovely, as her sister. I already know her from The Stormlight Archive and I just know she's going to have a lot a character development and I can't wait to see how she'll change after her journey! And finally Vasher and Nightblood, who I also know from Stormlight. I still don't know what to think about Vasher, but I really like Nightblood, it's a super cool sword!

The story is starting to get really interesting now that the most introductory part has ended, and I'm really excited to see what' ll happen next!

Crowning Glory: A Celebration of Black Hair by Carole Boston Weatherford. Illustrated by Ekua Holmes.

Genre / Category: Children’s Poetry, Children’s non-fiction

Age group: 5 and up

Summary: This book is a poetry book with illustrations. It has wonderful verses that highlight the beauty of Black hair.

Justification: This book champions Black hair in a time where their hair is constantly under ridicule and attack. In 2020 in Mont Belvieu, TX, a child was suspended for his dreadlocks even after pinning them up to remain in compliance with dress code polic. Furthermore, on social media apps such as TikTok, Black creators are constantly bullied for their hair if it is deemed too “natural.” Books such as these go a long way in helping children see the beauty in everyone.

Formant and Evaluation: The format I read this book in was digital on Amazon Kindle. I will be evaluating illustrations, design and layout, and tone.

Illustrations: The illustrations featured in Growing Glory are beautifully created and pay special attention to the hair of its subjects. It is colorful and fucuses on colors that complement the subjects black skin tones. Speaking of skin tones, there are all kinds in this book further highlighting the beauty and diversity within the Black community.

Design and Layout: The design and layout of this book is particularly amazing on the in the digital format. This book consist of mostly two-page spreads which can be cut off and distorted in the middle in physical books. The Kindle app does a good job of displaying these amazing spreads on one screen, perfectly showing-off the amazing artwork. My only complaint is that there is no zoom functionality on this book unlike other Kindle e-books.

Tone: The tone of this book is inspirational. It does a great job of championing Black hair. It is hopeful, supportive, and inspirational particularly to any Black children reading this book. Its poetry is short, sweet, simple and catchy which can also help children follow along with the rhythm. The tone of the poetry also helps children feel comfortable being who they are and to love themselves and their hair.

This is due to the classical period being all about capturing the ideal examples of the human form. As the helenistic era was obsessed with intellectual pursuit and nature, they reflected this in their art. Using more natural poses and fucusing on details to make the sculptures as life like as possible. Though they would also do things like use the golden ratio to make proportions as ideal as possible and often set to carve the most ideal (but still achievable) looks. This is why 90% of the sculptures are either ripped as shit dudes or Zeus' secret models, all sporting the tactical ass.

October Cas: Activity 2/2

For my second session at the gym I again started with core building exercises that totaled up to 15 minutes, after which I headed towards the machines. This time i fucused on my technique and slowly increasing the weight i was working with. My goal for the next time is to be able to comfortably lift 35 kg on the leg extensor machine, which I could only do 5 out of my regular 10 repetitions. To cool off I hung from an overhead bar 4 times for 10 seconds, which this time felt easier.
