Of all things today, getting sci-fi book recs managed to make me feel both grounded and very emotional for reasons I can't quite say

#making me cry while making pasta all because i got some good book recs #i think the thing that got me the most is the number of older women i was getting rec'#especially some who were queer and just idk. that means so much more to me than trying to read #fucking dune or whatever #give me the people writing themselves into existence even when it seemed no one was looking #genuinely crying a bunch now in a still happy way #idfk. i struggle! so much to feel connected or to exist or to even like. come in contact with other people in ways that #feel like they matter #but the right books let me more than just about anything. makes me feel a part of something #even though on their own i kinda dislike talking about books outloud #because even when i try i can never vocalize exactly what makes me feel So Big #makes me want to get back into academia #just so i can talk about what this all makes me feel for the sake of itself #god i miss that. that really felt like home at times

It makes sense why she didn't maybe but Chani might have saved billions of people including her own by simply knifing Jessica for compelling her, or knifing Paul after he went off the deep end or knifing Stilgar in the assembly.
