Okay, I know I set a resolution not to buy any books this year but consider: what if I accidentally bought and read a really bad book and it made me sad and I wanted to buy a different book to make up for it
#i read this book over christmas; i spent £3 worth of a gift card on it and it was So Bad#like ‘immediately went to the 1 and 2* reviews to laugh at it’ bad#and what i found out from the reviews is that it’s a homage/rip off (depending how kind you want to be) of what sounds like a way better#series. so this had me like.. hmmm. can i have this#because £8 for 3 books is nothing crazy. but also this is very much not on my wishlist atm#i’m just filled with curiosity because the copycat was so bad but this sounds good#like did they do a better job with the same plot points & similar characters? and if so: how??#at this point i’m studying the art of writing. i am gaining valuable information#no but really. is this justifiable#i want to also keep in mind that 1) there’s no way i’ll find this series in my library (they do not stock gay erotica. i know this)#and 2) i still have some christmas money. so#fuck it. i deserve this. i literally walked mabel while it was snowing sideways today. i deserve something cosy and good#personal
