I'm always praying on Evalas!Finneas downfall bc I love angst and seeing him suffer (lovingly, i swear /j) but talking with a friend, I realized something about him and I not only want to see him suffer, I want to see him overcome that pain, like, no matter how horrible and impossible the situation he is in, he's capable of beating those odds, I want to see him fucking win.

Because as much as I love angst and tragedy, I love even more a character who has been through so much shit but still stands up against the world and enemies that want to see him fall and give up.

We don't know a lot about the details so I'm gonna say this from a place of ignorance, what Emrys wants, is erasure, and we know him as like, one of the main and major threaths in Evalas (saying "one of" bc maybe there is more, who knows), this monster who's goal (pure guess) is idk, to unify everyone under the light of the goddess with no other options but her, no other culture, no other deities, etc.

Finneas has expressed that he can't remember his parents faces and that he used to be afraid of being forgotten, I want to see him overcome that fucker that is Emrys SO BADLY, he has been through so much shit, losing his family and his indentity, being stigmatized for being a southern even years later at the college of mages, found out that everything he and everyone in Evalas has been taught was nothing but LIES, lost someone he deeply loved to that truth and has now the pressure of being the only person (aside from the EvaLis but they don't fully know about this bc he may aswell be lying about it) who knows about this, not only that but he has LORD BISHOP EMRYS ON HIM ALREADY ASKING FOR ANSWERS (no longer canon but you get what I mean).

All of that being said, I need him to still stand, I need him to overcome the odds, the world wants him to fail, Emrys and Evalas want him to fear and give up, I want him to fight until the end, even if no one has faith on him, he has faith in himself and that's the only thing he need to keep going.
