Are we going to have any word from Rose on all of this, seeing as they're the one who made the original post? (I assume? It wasn't actually signed, which is.. not great for a post like that on a multi-mod blog)

Their response so far has been lacklustre to say the least, and I certainly won't be trusting FYA to do right by aros (especially alloaros) until Rose either

Shows some real understanding of how and why what they said was hurtful and harmful, as well as why their initial response was completely inadequate, and properly apologises for the harm they have caused and makes a real commitment to change, or

Leaves the blog entirely

FYA cannot claim to have changed and to support aros (esp alloaros) if neither of those things happens, and until one of them does I doubt the aro community will trust this blog at all.

So can you give us an idea of when the reblogging/boosting alloaro voices is going to happen? Alloaroworlds has made a post specifically for you and the general acespec community full of information on alloaro issues (you were tagged, so you should already know). The longer you stay silent, the less trust there's going to be between communities and reblogging some aro positivity isn't going to change that. No more vague promises. Do something.

Great question! I'm actually compiling a list of posts both to start reblogging immediately and to add to our queue, to ensure that aro and alloaro voices are continually represented in the long term. Indeed, the very good post by alloaroworlds is one I'm reading myself and using as a jumping off point to collect more resources and information. I'm sure you'll agree that a mass reblogging of posts that none of us have even taken the time to read or absorb or learn more about would be counterproductive and performative, so we certainly appreciate your willingness to let us actually do what's being asked of us well, instead of just in the way that looks best and changes nothing.

ok, I don’t know what I was doing with that first tag because that was unnecessarily juvenile.  As for fya mention, I’m going to quote myself here.

The post just overstepped so much and then the response was to just delete the criticism and just keep promising to do “better” and I’m sick of waiting for them to do it.

So I made the decision to unfollow them and keep fya off my blog. Unfortunately bc it is such a big blog in the ace community, they often give their input on posts that are still useful overall.  the fya mention is there so that people can avoid fya.“

did the person who used your work as bait on tik tok delete their video? because i can only think of 2 popular kylo ren cosplayers but i don’t see a video abt fya. totally agree with you though that this is wrong. in general i don’t personally find kylo cosplayers appealing- but that’s because it’s like a knockoff version of real kylo / adam’s looks -🌞💚

No, denzokolo did one where he references it, brettian did one where he… did, uh, whatever he does in that video, and wrote in the description, “Fix. Your. Attitude.” and then there’s another one that’s not like, a super-popular account that did something similar to brettian. 

All they’re doing is using the words “Fix Your Attitude,” because that’s all they know–they just know it’s something the teen girls are referencing in the comments of their other videos (omg this has fix your attitude vibes/reminds me of fix your attitude/and that’s on fix your attitude) and lose their shit over, so they reference it, too, for more clout. 

And I feel the exact same way about Kylo cosplayers. They do absolutely nothing for me. If I want to look at Kylo Ren or consume Kylo Ren content, I’ll just go fucking look at him on my fucking blog.

I got too scared to say anything, but ur rlly nice to the other anon so I thought I'd put it out there- fuckyeahasexual (who I used to follow and respect, up until last year) had a mod that threatened to dox my BF (who was a minor), and has had other mods post pedophilic/transphobic/racist content on their blog, and on the blog's discord (which is very public). Fuckyeahasexualdiscord covers the accusations well- I am telling u this as an ace person who is legitimately afraid of fya mods

Hi, I've been like stalking your blog for a few days now and I am obsessed! I haven't gotten around to reading FYA yet but I will! Anyways, I'd like to ask some advice from you. I have never written fanfic before and Im really self conscious of it not being accurate enough so I was wondering if you could maybe tell me a little about Ben before he became sweet Kylo? and before I make a complete fool out of myself: does fanfic need to be accurate for it to be appreciated or can I make it my own?

Hmm... Ben. I actually wish @bestwithalisp wasn’t busy with life, because she’s actually way better at this stuff than me.

I don’t have a whole lot of time/energy, but as far as I know, Ben was a lonely, angry, and, uh, apparently dorky kind of kid (Fucking calligraphy? Really, Solo?). Consider the fact that he sought attention from his parents--both of whom were too busy to give him what he needed, both of whom were too afraid of his power to engage with it--and the fact that he had been groomed by Snoke from a young age. His mind was a tempest of fury and confusion and loneliness since he was a child. As an adult man, it’s been honed into this lance-point of rage. That’s so heartbreaking to me.

Anyway, I love Ben Solo and Kylo Ren.
