heyhey sorry it’s been a while

taking a mini break again um just in general from rc9gn posting and posting in general. lost the drive and the cringe is beating my ass. hate it here hrhdjjdj

lara knew that she was one of those people that could be louder and a bit too overly excited about talking to people. but who could blame her? she didn't have a ton of friends and she sometimes felt like a bit of a loner. she blinked in response, not sure what she did wrong. "sorry. how do you know i'm not going where you're going?" her dad once told her she didn't need to apologise all the time, but lara often forgot about that after she already apologised. "i'm going to the same place you are." she had no idea where the stranger was going.

Tae gives his unwanted visitor a slow once over, taking in her nervous demeanor and hesitating speech, before unceremoniously returning his gaze to the opposite side of the room.

"Not interested," he answers, voice light and seemingly unbothered. It's as if her presence hardly registers for him, now that his intensity has been re-directed back to the task at hand: how to get out of this hall and back to the The Crucible as quickly as possible.

blinding strobe lights, cool drink in hand, the bumping music that makes her heart skip a beat — - that night was perfect, just perfect.

or so she thought.

it only took the entrance of one person, one, to ruin her whole night. the same person why she’s resorted to partying and drowning her thoughts with the solace of alcohol, only to be haunted by her inebriated thoughts of him after. the same person who left her months ago, who broke her, who made her feel her heart was safe, only to have it shattered. miori couldn’t believe it, the fact that alaska was in the same room as her. the best part? he wasn’t alone.

the better than best part? she knew the girl trailing behind him too, holding onto the hand that became her own’s home for a year. but now, instead of holding the warmth his hand warmth radiated, she held a red cup with vodka, sprite and god knows what in it. she knew her because she’d always run into her in the dance studio, she’s a budding choreographer, just like miori herself.

before she was even able to process anything further, she could see him heading towards her. her eyes as big as dinner plates as the couple begins to make their way to her in the corner of the crowded living room that served as a dance floor of sorts.

                                  “miori ssi?? you’re here too?!” the other female exclaimed..

“ah, yoori ssi, mhm.. my friend owns this house and— - yeah. it’s his birthday so, I had to come.” she chuckles nervously, her voice shaking in the process. “uh, is that.. your— - your boyfriend?” the dancer inquires, gesturing over to the male, her eyes searching for his as she held her hand up, she thought it would be best to feign ignorance and pretend like she didn’t know him, least for the meantime. “miori. n-nice to meet you.”

if anything, her plants were probably the most important thing that she was having to go without. she wondered what kind of work she'd have to get into when she got back and how many delicate systems were going to be messed up because of the solar flare. lara knew she was not the only person concerned about this, but she also was very concerned about a lot of things that were usually outside her control. lara hoped that she wasn't being too negative right now. "my dad loves cards! what kind of games did you learn? did you make nice friends? i hope they're nice. if they aren't i will have words with them."

hearing about lara's plants—to say nothing of the food system—just makes him sad. he doesn't want to think about there being anything up there suffering and dying, even if he knows that's inescapable. but dying in a fiery blast at least is fast. are there things up there just waiting for the end? shaking the thought aside, he tries to put himself in a more positive mindset. "um... i'm doing okay. i don't like the dark, much. but i made friends. um, learned some new games. do you know about cards?"

she instantly felt bad that she had insinuated that the bugs belonged to someone. "oh, i thought. i meant more like you controlled them or something. not like... actual ownership. or like a colony you raised from birth. i'd feel really bad then." at least it seemed like the person wasn't upset about it. that was the last thing that lara wanted. she bit her lip and tried to think if there was anything sweet around her. "hm, i don't know. i'm sure that there are probably some sweets around here somewhere. i'm personally not sure. maybe someone spilled something and that's what they were after." she thought for a second. "i guess we'll never know."

Priscilla dismisses any worries. "I didn't own them, no," She practically laughs at the thought. "I couldn't. They're just little ants is all. They were excited about something and I was curious as to what it was," Mostly sugar or something else sweet, but they'd lead Priscilla to interesting things before. "Don't worry about it. Bugs die every day. It's just the circle of life. Although I do wonder what they were going toward. Do you know if there's anything sweet around here that might be lying around?"

lara was very used to people asking her about strange and unusual plants or requests. mostly she grew her own plants just because she could and liked being surrounded by nature, but she did occasionally sell certain plants to make extra money. she didn't at least advertise that she sold things, so when she got new clients, she was always excited. "i have plants that help with headaches. i don't need cough drops since you know, i can just grow plants that do those sorts of things. what kind of favours?"

his head was still on the goddamn mend ⸺ axel was nocturnal for all intents and purposes meaning the solar flare had clocked his internal timer all sorts of haywire. recovering from the constant feeling of the sun shadowing his furry little ears made him crankier than normal. even so he asks, "got anything for headaches?" insomnia too. it would be nice to finally get a cup of shut eye around here. "i mean you grow things, right? i can pay you in cough drops, little doodads, or other favors." / @floramioris
