Okay okay I promise, this is the last shot from that epic night! The largest #NorthernLights storm in 20 years! They say... #northernlightsstockholm This shot is taken 10th of May 2024. The most common aurora color is green. Typically produced when charged particles collide with high concentrations of #oxygen molecules in earth's atmosphere at altitudes of around 100 to 300 km, (60 to 190 miles) Purple / pink & blue auroras tend to appear during periods of higher solar activity. Have you ever looked up at the night sky to find a view like this? Aurora, also known as the Northern or Southern Lights, are most often seen in high-latitude regions around the Arctic and Antarctic. These spectacular displays are caused by collisions between charged particles from solar wind and oxygen and nitrogen in Earth’s atmosphere. As the oxygen and nitrogen molecules revert to their normal state, they release photons, or small bursts of energy in the form of light—which is what we see on the ground below. What looked to be mountains from the ground turned out to be extinct volcanoes as captured by this drone shot taken on a cloudy day in June, at the time of the midnight sun. The unusual perspective of an inhospitable landscape stained by traces of iron oxide creates an otherworldly atmosphere.

Fran Rubia is an electrician who has studied photography via the Centro Andaluz de la Fotografía since 1997. His work has won numerous awards and he has contributed to many publications, exhibitions, and conferences. Been thinking about Shin Vs Neo's soundtrack again.

The entire soundtrack is really strong, alot of fantastic compositions that help emphasize every singular scene.

Its insane how one of the best examples of how good the soundtrack can be... is the first song of the entire OVA/Album release

LEGEND

Legend makes you feel every emotion in the scene.

The way it changes speed as it goes on is brilliant

Showing a triumphant and hopeful melody every time musashi's fight against the reptilian empire continues and slowing down when introducing gore or seeing how Shin Getter's launch isnt succesful

The Brass coming together when Musashi pulls out the getter ray reactor

The tune changing to trully show Ryoma's pain at the realization of what Musashi is doing

Things like that make the scene special and the score a treat to listen to, the whole scene trully makes Musashi a Legend.

All masterfully done for the first scene in the entire OVA.

and the rest of the soundtrack does not dissapoint! The original compositions are fantastic and the use of STORM as a leitmotif on some mayor tracks is great

(HOPE and TRUTH being exceptional cases of this)

I do have to say one of the things I apreciate about this soundtrack is its reluctance to use STORM at any oportunity

Don't get me wrong, I would have loved it if they did that (I absolutely loved how they used DRAGON in New Getter Robo) but them not using it much makes its appearance much stronger.

The activation of Shin Getter and the appearance of God Getter are 10 times better because of it.

Oh yeah about Shin Getter's activation

Shin Getter's theme, FLAME, being an arrangement of HEATS from "Change! Getter Robo!"/"Getter Robo Armageddon" is great (the track name is the cherry on top)

Ever combat theme in SvN is simply incredible, a few more examples

I could keep going but you get the idea.

The soundtrack is a wonder to listen to and its one of the best parts of the OVA

I dont have a singular complain, trully amazing

NORTHERNLIGHTS

"Ah!"

Starteled by my cry of pain he pulls the curtains back to cover the window. His voice just a little too loud: "Oh, my love..."

"Hmmmh... sshhh..."

He sits beside me whispering: "I am sorry. Is it your head?"

I manage to nod slightly: "Hmmhmmh..."

He hesitates but then lays his hand carefully on my shoulder: "Can I do anything?"

My whisper somewhat weaker than I hoped for: "No, mon cher."

I press my face between our pillows. His pillow is nearest to my nose. Its scent is comforting. I feel dizzy. My head feels like something is trying to break through my skull. Lights flicker in my eyes... colorful... unpredictable... pulsing... like the northernlights... from Hell.

Beyond the confusion and pain I can sense his worry. He hates it when he doesn't know what to do... or just can't do anything to help me.

I take his hand and whisper a plea: "Don't go."

I feel... helpless... vulnerable... Unsure of where I am... I know I'm in Paris... at home with him but... my confused senses also try to tell me I'm in Persia... He is there so I can't possibly be in the cage of my childhood... right?

"Nadir..."

"I'm here, love. Rest. It will pass."

In a day or two... or three... or four... five...

The episodes come and go. Usually triggered by a smell... or something I see... or something else...

They begun in Persia... after the coctail of substances I was given there... forced to take... They wanted to see what would happen... threw me to the arena with three opponents... Even more than half blinded by those hellish lights I killed them... slaughtered them... like a demon. I can still remember their screams, the smell of their blood... bones cracking... flesh tearing...

"Oh, god..."

Nadir's hand rubs my back gently... moving slowly up and down with the caresses. He once said it was propably the trauma of being drugged and the injuries I recieved... the drugs triggered an old trauma that triggers this... because the trigger usually has something to do with memories... like the smell of my mother's perfume... or the cage...

"Sshhh, my love. What if I get you a cold towel for your forehead... and some water with lemon juice?"

"Don't go. Not now."

I would say "please", but commands come so much easier specially when I am vulnerable.

"It's so bright, Nadir..."

The cold towel over my eyes would help but it's not what I need...

He gets up: "Stay still then. I won't go far."

That was a command he gave me...

"Nadir..."

My hands are shaking.

"Trust me, Erik."

I hear him open and close a drawer before he returns to me. He gently raises my head a little as he ties a scarf over my eyes. The knot is made carefully but it's firm.

"There. Just lie still now."

If my head wasn't about to split, I'd be turned on by his gesture.

He lays his hands on my arms as he says softly but with authority: "I'll get you the juice, the medicine and the cold towel now. And you'll just lie there and wait patiently. Understood?"

My voice is a little breathless: "Oui, mon cher."

After I've taken the medicine, the towel is on my forehead cooling me and he lies beside me holding me close and stroking my hair, my fingers, my arms, my chest... I feel safe enough to rest.

"I love you, Nadir," I coo.

"I love you too, Erik," he coos back.
