Ugh hey y'all, I really hate to do this but I am absolutely desperate. If you have a few bucks to spare to keep Zoey and I from sleeping in my car or help pay for her boarding, it would be very, very appreciated. Y'all know my pup means everything to me; she's the only reason I made it through the most difficult period of my life. Even now she's the only reason I get out of bed every day. If you can't spare any money I fully understand, sharing and spreading this around will be super helpful as well.

Some of y'all are relative newcomers to NASCAR and reasonably think it's like any other sports league/sanctioning body: the rules are clear, they're enforced fairly, and violations are dealt with fairly. I'm here from the Winston Cup era to tell you that that has never been the case.

These "rules" have always been selectively enforced. They're deliberately vague; race control knows it, the drivers know it, we know it. NASCAR tried to say the Bubba/Bowman incident was different than the Chase/Suarez one because Bowman had to turn the wheel to keep his car straight or some shit? That's the best they could do? Coming up with these arbitrary violations to satisfy a certain segment of the fanbase is one of the reasons a lot of "new fans" from Chicago won't stick around. The rules don't apply to everybody. The dumbest part is there are obvious ways to legislate this clearly and fairly that would still allow for some "boys have at it" shit. Keep it on the track, don't leave pit road to go after someone, if the other guy's car is killed and he can't finish the race you're screwed, whatever. But that'll never happen because NASCAR doesn't want to enforce the rules fairly. They want to have an out for when one of their Special Little Guys does some dumb shit. It's always been like this. It's why Dale Sr. could get away with doing all kinds of wild shit on the track that would -- and did -- get other guys parked. NASCAR was more or less immune to criticism until social media came along. They'd slap a guy with "actions detrimental" and that was the end of it, because they had the NASCAR media in their pocket. Now that people can call them on their bullshit and demand actual explanations, their whole "same but different" schtick is getting harder and harder to defend.

I'm so pissed omg I should have been at Milwaukee last weekend and I should be there now but this whole "living in my car with my dog" thing is really cramping my style

We sent a proposal to all of the board members and there's a board meeting on the 10th. No idea if it'll fly or not, so we could use all of your best vibes. I hate to ask for any more donations, but I just did the math and between motels and boarding, I've spent over $1,000 so far. Zoey and I are good until Monday morning; after that we'll be back in the car. The help I've gotten so far has been amazing and has kept me afloat, and hopefully the proposal will fly, but right now there's no end in sight. Anything you can spare will still make a difference.

Zoey's at her usual kennel until Wednesday afternoon, and I have one potential lead for a 90 day foster, but still nothing solid. I'm hoping to avoid paying for a motel again but there's still a decent chance that's where we'll be. Y'all have been super generous and supportive and I can never thank you enough. Hopefully I'll be able to stop sharing this soon.

NASCAR has broken my heart more frequently and with more cruelty than any man I've ever known. I should be at Road America right now. I fucking hate this sport.

Between getting my car fixed, taking Zoey to the vet and then to boarding, I dropped $500 yesterday. I'm down to $700 and my loans won't disburse until the middle of September. A month ago I had 3 grand. Why can't not having my dog be awful enough? Why does it have to come with my car breaking down and her being sick and me not being able to earn money? Why is my stupid-ass life always like this?

NASCAR has no idea how much it owes to Wisconsin short track guys. Put Ty Majeski in a top-tier Cup ride and let him loose at Richmond, he'll fly his little 5'4" ass under the radar and steal that shit.

Go back to Road America for the 4th and move the street race to August or September when it's not monsoon season
