Tears of the kingdom
Totk is weird in my opinion. On one hand its like the perfect sequel in the sense of how its new powers grant you waay more exploration options and creativity. Its like Nintendo saw all those popular challenge videos and people making flying machines! That they were like ok let's give the people more of what the people want!
On the other hand it has more of a linear story that at least partially occurs during the actual game, and not just in cutscenes about the past. It has dungeons with puzzles, which have unique designs, music and bosses... Almost as if they heard the complaints of people like me who didnt get much out of botw and missed the older style games. 🤔
These two aspects are odd cause they kinda do work together but also not at all. 🤨 Its real funky! Impressive and a solidly built marvelous game but. Funky. And also not for me, didn't like this one either.
I will admit I had more enjoyable moments with totk than botw? Not by much but I guess the plan to pander to my type of fans worked somewhat. Maybe. Well not really because I still didn't like it... But I appreacite knowing the series hasnt totally abandoned that side of things? Then again some fans who loved the open world aspect have been upset by the linear additions... man, it gets confusing to try and get a solid opinion on this thing.
Also that ending was a total coward move. Dangit Nintendo, you had something going on there...!
Conclusion: Im confused. 👍
