Title: Frightful’s Mountain
Author: Jean Craighead George
Rating: 3.5 out of 5
Review: The last in the trilogy I wasn’t expecting much as I hadn’t enjoyed the previous novel. While it started off slow in the beginning, seeming more recap of past events then entirely new story, it did manage to grasp my attention. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when the past two novels had been focused on Sam’s story while this was Frightful’s but it was written in a way that felt natural to the conclusion of the trilogy. I will say it was slow going multiple times throughout but all in all I eventually found it enjoyable. Wouldn’t say I’m the target audience so it might be more enjoyable to younger elementary school age readers.

RIP Laios Touden you would have loved xenofiction. Born to have his life changed by being assigned to read White Fang in the fifth grade.

Hi Simon!
I wanted to ask, how's Taka doing? I've always been curious about that bird of yours, and it seems very interesting, I'd love to hear more about it!
~Sincerely,
That Ace.
That Ace,
Taka is well, thank you. Since you are curious, I suppose I could tell you a spell about her. She is a Eurasian Sparrowhawk, and Primarily feasts upon birds, but small rodents will also do.
I say she, which I have determined based on her size and plumage, but she has never laid eggs so I may be mistaken. if accurate, then she is slightly smaller then average, but also faster.
She is deeply intelligent, and has always found her way back to me. I feared when I got her that she would leave once she could hunt for herself, but as often as she leaves, she always comes back.
I allow her free range of everywhere I go, the only exception is if she requires medical attention, which is blessedly rare. She does not care for the anklets, jesses, and hoods typically involved in falconry, so I defer to her preference when possible. This also means should I displease her, she can go. I do not truly think of her as my bird, but as my companion, staying only so long as she is willing.
Perhaps sometime I will tell you how she came to be so.

That’s why they space the cords out like that, so that an angel’s wingspan isn’t wide enough to make a circuit between two cords (that would electrocute it)
do you think angels would perch upon electrical lines and radio towers like birds

sure. looks like a nice spot to share the interesting things they saw lately
