On Love

So as you know I made this uquiz with an open-ended question at the end, tell me something about love, and I’ve gotten the most wonderful responses! They range from descriptions of wonderful partners:

i’m sure you’re tired of me posting non incorrect quote or non zutara things, but there are things i want to talk about. it started, i guess, as a trend on tiktok where people would share their stories and experiences with racism as people of color in the united states(or anywhere really, but everyone i’ve seen has been from the us). as a woman of color, i felt compelled to participate, but wasn’t sure how to. i didnt want my face showing up globally because i knew that with posting that, not only could people i know in real life find it, but so could the wrong side of tiktok, thus leading some nice so not comments being left under the post. with tumblr i like the anonymity. i can talk about this in as much detail as i want without anyone being able to put a face to my name. despite being here for almost 19 years, i’m still not completely comfortable talking about these experiences when people know what i look like.

i’m going to put this under a cut so it doesn’t take up too much room, and so you can skip if you want.

for starters, my name’s holly. i’m asian american. i was born in china, but shortly after i was born i was stuck in an overcrowded orphanage. this resulted in being adopted by white parents when i was about one and a half to two years old. i lost fluency with my native language and that eventually lead to losing the language completely, and i lost touch with my culture.

i was in second grade, that’s how far back i can remember my first real encounter with racism. i was seven in a classroom full of white kids. there was this boy with blonde hair and blue eyes who sat next to me for a good portion of the year. i remember walking into class everyday, and every day he would ask me the same questions. “why is your nose so flat?” and “why do you eyes look like that”. i was seven. and whether or not he intended to hurt my feelings, it stuck with me for a long time. at first i was confused, because i didn’t think i looked different. i didn’t view myself as looking different until then. until i was constantly reminded everyday that my facial features were “weird” and “odd”. that my face was undesirable. it lead to years and years of insecurity and self hatred.

i wanted so bad to look like the other white girls in my school. i wanted a cute upturned nose with a perfect bridge shape. i wanted blue eyes. i wanted eyelids that didn’t connect in the corners and eyelashes that were naturally curled and turned up unlike mine, that just rested straight forward. i wished that i had lighter skin and blonde hair. i didn’t want to be different and undesirable. i thought i was ugly, and i would look at myself in the mirror for long periods of time, picking out everything that set me apart from the other white kids at my school.

that same year i found out that i needed glasses, and i’m pretty sure i cried. i didn’t want another reason for myself to stand out. i refused to wear them for an entire year and a half, before i realized that i had to wear them if i wanted to see. i was seven, eight. i wasn’t even in the double digits yet but i had this idea in my head that i was ugly because i wasn’t white. whether that kid had meant to hurt me like that didn’t matter, because the damage had already been done. and the worst part was that i had no one i could tell, but none of my friends and none of my family would understand what i was going through. so i suffered in silence and dealt with it the best a child could.

when i was in middle school, i can vividly remember kids mocking asians for laughs. they thought it was funny. funny to be racist. i remember this one time i was out walking the track with a group of kids during gym class. i was walking just behind them and i overheard their conversation. they were making fun of asian’s eye shape, and pulling their eyes back to make them smaller. and it hurt. and they knew i was walking behind them. they knew i was there and that i could hear their whole conversation, but they didn’t care. and i was too scared to speak up for myself, so i had to sit back, listening to and watching them mock people who looked like me because they thought it was funny. i was in seventh grade.

that next year, i was in eighth grade. i had a class with a boy. (i was convinced i liked him, but i’ve come to realize that was not the case at all. i was just forced into thinking he liked me, and i felt obligated to like him back. i realize now that that is just how society (and a get normative society) has conditioned women to feel, but that these feelings were nothing more than platonic. this will make more sense as i continue to tell the story.)

as i was saying, i had a class with a boy, and we began talking and becoming friends. or, i thought we were friends. i realize now those feelings were one sided, and that he only used me to pick on me. he and his friends would take my things and hide them. they sat behind me and would move my desk during class while i was trying to work. they’d throw things at me, whatever they had available. sometimes it was paper, sometimes it was coins, i remember a few times it was a stick they’d found on the track. and now, it doesn’t seem like a racially motivated thing, and maybe it wasn’t and i’m just overreacting. but i saw how he treated other girls. i saw how he treated his girl friends. i saw how he treated my friends. i was with them all the time, and yet i was the only one who was ever on the receiving end of this treatment. and that, that sucked. but i didn’t tell anyone again, because i knew they would just tell me “that means he likes you”. but his actions went further then a playful slap in the arm, and became almost dangerous. i was only fourteen.

in high school i tried my best to stay away from those toxic people. instead, i could remember the racism i faced in those four years coming from my own family, rather than my peers at school. i cant possibly name every time my family has been racist, but i can specifically remember times when i was constantly told by them that my eyes “didn’t look asian”. that my sister looked “more asian” than i did simply because her eyes were smaller than mine. as if i didn’t already have an identity crisis because i wasn’t white enough to fit in with my predominantly white neighborhood, but i wasn’t asian enough to fit in with the few asian kids at my school. it was my dad who continually pushed me to be an engineer(which im not doing, to clarify). don’t get me wrong, he wanted all of us to be in a field where job demand was high, and he did want my sister to be an engineer, but he didn’t bring it up at the rate that he did with me. he still does it. and this plays into the stereotype that all asians are smart and that because we’re smart i have to go into a field that requires high intellect. he didn’t put that immense amount of pressure on any of my other white siblings. just me.

there’s a chinese restaurant down the street from us. we order from there a lot, and usually they’re really good with getting our orders right. in fact, this was the only time i can remember them getting our order wrong. and immediately they began to make fun of their understanding of english and their broken english. immediately they jumped on that opportunity to mock their language, using words like “ching chong” to describe their words. and the saddest part is, i wasn’t even surprised. and yet i couldn’t say anything because i didn’t want to start a fight, and i knew if i did i would be told that “it was just a joke” or that “you’re being too sensitive”. i often wonder if they’d mock me if i didn’t have perfect english. if i spoke with a “chinese accent”. it makes me wonder if i’m only really accepted because i’ve been so assimilated into whiteness that you can’t even tell i’m asian unless you look at my face. this happened mere weeks ago.

last week i went to get my hair done. because of covid everyone is required to wear masks, but there were at least 10 people in there. i was sat down in front of the mirror while my hairdresser cut my hair. in the reflection of the mirror i could see this older white women getting her hair one behind me. she wasn’t wearing her mask properly. it resting under her nose, eventually her chin, and at one point it came off completely and her hairdresser had to tell her to put it back on. the entire time i was sat in that chair, where i could only look straight ahead in that mirror, she was watching me like a hawk. giving me side eye glances and even turning her head completely towards me at times. let me remind you that there were other customers in there. it wasn’t just me and her. i could feel myself starting to get anxious, my heart starting to speed up and my fingers under the apron they put around you, tapping the side of my phone in my hands nervously. i was genuinely afraid that she would start throwing racist slurs and start blaming me for the coronavirus the entire time. i was scared. and it was literally just last week. im tired.

Episode 13 | “STIMULUS CHECK? NO BITCH HERE'S A REALITY CHECK” - Adam

so. its over and im out of the game. i waited a couple hours to write this because i knew i would hurt some feelings if i didnt and if we learnt anything from today its that jake's feelings get hurt real easy and we wouldn't want that would we. i think the reason i have struggled (and likely still will) to get closure is because i don't think this makes sense for jake? i've had some frustrations and some suspicions with jake over the past two rounds but i had no intentions of cutting him any time soon. i am a shield he so desperately needed what is wrong with him. like even if i wanted to cut him how on earth would i have got it done? with what numbers. to use a quote from autumn in the game we played together before but adapted for this instance, "today we learned unless jake feels like the prettiest girl at the dance every minute of every day, you’re not doing enough". now to the fun stuff. i want to just tribute to adam and autumn. adam is someone i was SO sus of at the start but he is a gem. his personality is so vibrant he is a true gem. autumn hill is who i wanna dedicate this to and focus this on. autumn is one of my best allies ever and one of my favourite ORG people ever... what a complete. legend. such a role model to me in my real life, she has taught me to be confident, to back myself and to not take any shit and for that I'm so grateful. i literally am so honoured to call her my friend and i cant wait to meet her in person when she moves to the UK WOOOO. anyway i've also moved on from being 100% self negative. i fought so hard this season i played so so so hard and i fought my way to F8 despite being a threat since F21. i did the damn thing and im proud, and even tho it sucks that all my fighting was cut short by my closest ally i tried my very best and that's all i can do. thank you to the hosts for bringing me back, its been a... journey hehe

I don’t think anyone is ready for this round or at least what’ll come of it... I’m expecting an explosion or a mess given Jakey thinks he’s staying, TJ has been lied to, and hopefully Autumn or Adam leave next... its all a mess. If Jakey goes, I’m planning a 2-2-2 split between Autumn and Adam where we maybe get Autumn out but Adam leaving doesn’t hurt either.

Well that vote blows... I really thought I had someone that I could navigate this end game with and then it got completely taken away from me. Now, I know I have to do what’s best for my game. And there’s two scenarios I see being possible: 1. Staying with my alliance and voting out Autumn/Adam and then risking that the three Beauties will actually cut someone in that group. 2. I flippy flippy and vote with Autumn (oh dear, I’m actually considering this?) and get Amir out to set myself up with Kendal and Augusto to get to the F3. Amir just told me he has the Beauty idol, so this may be my only shot to get him out of this game. Not a single person in this game has ever wanted to go to the end with me except for kendall Jakeys trying to take her out right now and i want to keep jakey in the game so bad but 4 people want him out so bad and the only way to save him is with my idol and i want to keep my idol and i want to keep a relationship with kendall but augusto will know that its my idol that saved jakey so my entire game will be blown the fuck up so i have to just let him go strategically, Since jakey is leaving, i wanna try and make sure adam is next because hes the strongest competitor that will be left and if i make it to five and four i need to win comps. Okay I need to actually strategize lmao so after this vote if it goes as expected I believe autumn has the idol, just based on how she was behaving Her and adam and me are afraid of tj kendall Augusto final 3, however, if that does become a final 3, I can force it out of kendall, so as long as Adam and autumn do not win immunity, we can split the vote on them, or just 3 beauties vote together strong. I’m also using autumn and Adams target on tj to make tj want them out even more, so next round, autumn and adam vs tj is a thing, and the 3 beauties can be safe as long as it doesn’t tie, and if worst comes to worst, I still have my idol, which can get me in the final 5 but I really really want to save my idol for final 5

JAKEY GETS VOTED OUT

So here’s my dilemma for the round: I basically started the Adam name with Amir. I would prefer to go with that because I don’t know if I can beat Adam at the end. The problem with this though is that I don’t want to lose Jakey if he’s so for getting rid of Kendall. So where is the middle ground here?

So I think tonight is going to be my night. I have a lot of power right now in this game oddly enough. Are people potentially going for me, yeah, but I'm going to be safe which means I probably have enough room to screw up whoever's plan I would like to. Amir wants to do a 2-2-2 split, which I can easily screw up if I get Adam and Autumn on my side (which I see possibly happening). I can more than likely convince Autumn she doesn't need to play an idol if she's the vote (maybe on that one). And I know Adam wants to make a move with me saying Augusto is trying to get the vote on me or Autumn, which shows my concern that the three Beauties are at least locked to final four (I don't think they'd all take one another, but I don't think they'll turn on one another just yet). So now, here's where I may be able to take a stand and put myself in a spot where I may have some control. I need that one move that is at the top of my resume... can this be the one? Question is: what the hell is that move?

R they telling me the truth or are they lying ? i didnt make a confessional before the live since i wasnt sure what the HELL was gonna happen so hello coming to you LIVE from the afterlife because yall didnt THINK you could fly me off this island without one last adam rant for the season did you? for the first time in all 3 times ive played actually....feeling some type of way over being voted out, maybe it's just because of quarantine and having literally nothing better to do, but i took this game seriously and i tried my damndest. Yes I do have the merge idol, yes I've had it since Final 7 but planned not to play it until Final 5, and yes that makes me the most powerful person here. Deadass everyone wants my head on a stick and I don't give a single fuck. I'm chilling all weekend, letting them think they're doing something if/when I lose win immunity, and then I'm sending a man out on one vote Monday night. You think they hate me now? Okay well, that challenge was a fucking bust. LMAO. I should’ve numbered everything

I’m shook to have made it through the vote tonight. Like after being told the other day that Nicholas was going to go home, only to be blindsided and have fucking Rhone die, it was a shock that everyone stuck to their word for once. I’m starting to feel a little more awake in the game, too. Thankfully, I’ve got my hands typing away feverishly to everyone on the tribe as often as I can handle. I think that there are other people doing the same thing, but who knows for certain! I hear a lot that I’m the “only person who talks a lot of game with me”, so that’s an improvement from before already.

I’ve got to keep downplaying that I’m a big threat going forward. Nicholas left and said that he was gonna vote for me to win if I made it to the end, which I highly doubt is the case. I tried my hardest to attempt to clear the air with him and get him to at least consider other options on this tribe other than voting for me to go home. In that conversation, I tried to just make peace with him as a person but I dunno. I think that Nicholas doesn’t like me very much and according to everybody else, he had nothing but criticisms to say about me. He was my biggest adversary when I won my way back and I knew from the get-go he’d do whatever he could to fuck my life up. Now he’s gone and probably shit-talking me to Rhone so there’s another jury vote I’ve lost this far LMAO.

There’s no chance that I’ll win today’s immunity, unless of course everybody else fucks it up majorly. If I don’t win, I’d prefer Jack to win because I want to start to paint him as a bigger physical threat than myself so everyone can target him before me. As I said in my host chat, he and I have a final two agreement right now but the only way I can get there is if he’s dragging me along.

The plan for now is to just take out all the goats. So rip Lily, Toph (to an extent), Logan, and Madeline. I don’t want Ian, Kai, Jack, and Emily to think that they’re more important to take to the end than me because I’m trying to sell to everyone that I’m the perfect little goat to take to the end and beat because I’m an ugly returner with no fucking friends on the jury. I think that the jury is going to either hate or at least partially respect the game I played – so far, I’ve been really chaotic but I’ve calmed down a lot since the merge. Even though I played that idol on Ian, some people think it was a one-time use thing and others think it was a regular idol. I don’t need Jack on the jury finding out that it was a regular idol because he’ll NEVER respect the move I made with it and he was already super fucking critical of me for it to begin with.

Toph is so fucking messy, man. He voted for me after trying to get me to vote a certain way all afternoon. I understand why he likely did it, because he didn’t want to vote out Nicholas and Lily would be pissed if he wrote her name down. I think Lily needs to know that Toph was being really messy so she thinks about turning on him sooner than later. Honestly, if I can get all the other weaklings to turn on one another, that’d be perfect so I can ride it smoothly with the larger threats.

The way I see it, Emily and Kai are the two biggest threats in this game. Kai seems to be the one controlling everything, while Emily is the one who KNOWS everything; she’s voted correctly the entire game by my knowledge. She took out Rhone, turned on Nicholas, and yet nobody bats an eye at her. She hardly acknowledges me unless I acknowledge her first and everybody RAVES about how much they love her. Although my strategy of keeping the threats around is more realistic for my chances at just getting to the end, I know that I need to make some serious moves to still have the opportunity to win. If I can somehow take out and replace both Kai and Emily with myself, while coasting under the radar, I could potentially win. I dunno. I need to be smart and not emotional from this point on…

Relying on fact over emotion is really difficult for me. I am a really opinionated person and I often make plays based off of those opinions I form or hear from others. This is super dangerous to do because there is a risk that people don’t share your opinions. Objectively speaking, I can’t determine who the biggest threat to win is because we’re only at the final nine… but I can’t figure out who that biggest threat is without listening to the opinions of others! The whole setup of Survivor revolves around a big opinion everyone shares on who deserves to win. And there isn’t a whole lot you can do to change crazy people’s minds… we’re all crazy because we’re playing this game SOOOOO….. fuck!

I feel like none of my confessionals make any sense. I just want y’all to know that I need to get rid of Emily probably soonish because she’s a huge danger to me. I should be more selfish than I already am (if that’s even possible) and push that agenda onto everyone, but idk if everybody will take too kindly to me being a huge bitch to them about it.

i’ve been #flopping st confessionals recently (well i don’t actually know but anyway) so here’s a tea filled confession

i think i have figured out what was in the hippothias bedroom: a legacy advantage. all i know is that the room was empty when kai got to it, but using that knowledge, i just have to figure out who got whatever was in there. and i think it was jordan. jordan and i talked a lot about how to get into that room pre-merge and i’m thinking he got there first. when i asked what was in the room, he told me it was empty and that someone got there first, but he didn’t send a quote. i didn’t push him on it because i didn’t feel it necessary or smart at the time. kai sent me a quote, though. and something was gone. so! using my brain, i’ve decided jordan got whatever was in there. and i think the only thing he’d not tell me about being there (because we were very close before merge hit) is a legacy advantage, just in case he didn’t want to will it to me. and i don’t think he did. i think he willed it to jack. (just remember this is all me thinking hypothetically and could all be COMPLETELY wrong, but it is also me trying to justify voting out jack.) since madeline and jack are close now, i think there’s a good chance that jack would will the legacy advantage to madeline. and i would MUCH rather have madeline have the advantage than logan or lily or toph or jaiden. i just need madeline to fight hard for jack to stay this round to the right people (toph) and then one of the dudes and dames can throw their vote to lily. make it look like a fight was put up to keep jack in, but in reality there wasn’t. if madeline fights to keep jack then he’ll likely will the advantage to her rather than the people who voted him out. the votes will ideally fall like this:

5 jack: ian, kai, jaiden, logan, lily

3 lily: jack, me, toph

1 madeline: madeline (bc she got a self vote while searching the island lmao)

A few weeks ago my car was rear ended and has minor frame damage from the collision. The insurance adjustor's checked it out and offered me $700 to fix the paint on the bumper, repair the bumper support and 2 hours on a frame rack. Details about my car: The passenger rear taillight is pushed in about a centimeter - the quarter panel now sticks out a tad and is crumpled in the wheelwell - my passenger framerail has a warp in it from the accident. Now they are claiming that my car was in a previous accident because of filler paint or something in the trunk. They claim that because I have a hole cut into my frame rail that the car was previously pulled and that's where the damage came from. I drove the car for 4 years, I think I'd know if my taillight was pushed in and my quarter panel was sticking out. They told me to take it to an auto body to have it looked at and they would contact them on a final settlement - BUT I feel the car is unsafe to drive. I do not want to drive a car with previous frame damage (fixed). Would I be able to take the money and buy a different car without the body shop doing work on it?""

-╳- So. A problem with emotional regulation would make it emotional dysregulation. I’m not even going to chance a website like Wikipedia - trying to find something more… proper. On the first page there is a website that leads to a page entitled’ BPD and ED’ - funny, that’s exactly what a friend suggested to look up. Actually, there’s a lot of links to websites talking about Emotional Dysregulation in cases of Borderline Personality Disorder; it is literally every other page. Wow, okay. Definitely worth looking in to in a few minutes. Maybe. I typed into google ‘Emotional Disregularion NHS’ in the hopes it would have taken me to a page about it on the NHS, instead, it came up with the NHS webpage about BPD. suppose I should just bite the bullet and look there. See what it days. Time: 16: 47 Okay, so the first listed symptom of BPD is Emotional Instability. “ If you have BPD, you may experience a range of often intense negative emotions.” Well… joking aside, that sounds pretty accurate. It then lists rage, sorrow, shame, panic, terror and long-term feelings of emptiness and loneliness. Well - I can get angry in the drop of a hat for little to no reason; someone could be trying to talk to me and I will just get this overwhelming anger bubble inside of my chest that is pretty difficult to hold back. Sorrow is something I often feel about myself, especially in the way of disappointment, but sometimes I’m the complete opposite, so- Shame - sometimes? I mean, my life has gone so downhill that my highschool dream of being an architect is almost hilarious now. Panic is something I know well, what with panic attacks and anxiety - most of the time triggered by nothing at all. Lying in bed? Nice and comfy? Have a panic attack about nothing. Terror is in the same kinda category as panic, really… I cant walk in the dark, outside, because it literally petrifies me. For no reason. Nothing has even happened in the dark to cause me to be like that so - As for long term feelings of emptiness and loneliness - I could say that was accurate, too. I just feel… nothing? Sometimes? Like I’m just an empty, forgotten shell of nothingness? That would be especially appropriate right now. I’m almost… emotionally numb right now - not really feeling anything - which is kind of good because it’s less exhausting to feel nothing than it is to feel everything in such a short space of time. The next bit of the page states ‘you may have severe mood swings over a short period of time. It’s common for people with BPD to feel suicidal with despair, and then feel reasonably positive a few hours later. Some people feel better in the morning and some in the evening. Sometimes, yeah. I think the latest episode of this was when an old friend popped up on my facebook feed, talking about how he just finished his Medical Degree at Oxford University and I automatically though I was an absolute failure in life because I haven’t managed to achieve anything at all, not on the scale of that. I used to think going to the shop on my own was a massive success. If that even counts, I don’t know.

In fact, nobody would even be in the house besides myself. And this happened a few times in a day, once. I’ve also been sat on my bed, before, with my bedroom door open - which leads into the living room - and know that I have seen someone walk past. But when I go out to see whoever it was, nobody is even at home besides myself. Or, more commonly, I’ll know that one of the cats has jumped up on the end of the bed, I’ll see them through the corner of my eyes settling down and whatever but when I actually turn to look at them, there won’t actually be one there. In fact, they’ll all be in the kitchen or something. They’ll be nowhere near me and they can’t just disappear in the milliseconds it would take me to turn and look that way.

And usually, after doing such, I will be so disappointed in myself that my mind will drift toward ideas of suicide and whatnot… though I consciously don’t want to kill myself - it’s more of a ‘if it happened then oh well’ kind of thing - like an accident or something. Otherwise - I don’t do drugs, I barely drink, I don’t spent money, I don’t gamble and I definitely don’t have sex with strangers, unprotected or otherwise. One moment I will be head over heels for him, he could do nothing wrong, and then the next everything he does is smothering and irritates me or makes me anxious; and I’m not talking a little bit, I’m talking really very intensely. And I do worry, intensely,sometimes that because of the way I am - so unpredictable and volatile, that he will just up and leave me. Which then triggers the whole ‘don’t leave me’ thing of constantly texting him and whatever. The article then talks about the ‘smothering’ side of things and yes… if I feel smothered [usually with no reason] I will withdraw or just isolate myself so it can’t happen - this is also why sometimes I say I am ill or something so Mike won’t actually come over. Because I want nothing more than to be alone and I know that him just being next to me or trying to hug me, or something, would automatically irritate me to the point of having to leave the room; I usually make the excuse that I’m going for a shower just so I don’t seem too weird. It also describes it as a ‘Go away - please don’t go’ state of mind… Which is perfect. It’s so accurate. That’s frightening. And that’s the end of the article on symptoms, anyway. So… I’m just feeling really empty right now so.. it was probably the best time to look all this up and honestly, I didn’t expect to find something so very accurate as to how my head works and how I feel so often, you know? How strange. I don’t know whether to be relieved that I have found something or worriedbecause it actually has a name and isn’t actually me just.. overreacting all the time, purposely; because all of it is just… out of my control. Time: 17:21 Okay, yeah… anxiety just kicked in. Slam, here’s a weight in your chest and an internal feeling of utter panic. I’m now on the MIND website in the hope it will flesh out some of what the NHS page had… and the first quote on the page is “ It’s scary. […] One moment I’m really happy and then the next I’m crying for absolutely no reason or having a go at people. People think I’m just being moody for the sake of it.” It’s so relatable… I understand that on such a personal level that it’s… frightening. It goes over intense emotions, not having a strong sense of who you are, hard to keep stable relationships, act impulsively, engage in self harming behavior and suicidal thoughts, feelempty and lonely a lot of the time, get angry and struggle to control it, feel paranoid, have psychotic experiences such as seeing or hearing things, feeling numb or checked out. … I can say yes to at least 90% of that, if not all of them. It then goes on to say : “ Because you only need to experience five of these possible symptoms to be given the diagnosis, BPD can be a very broad diagnosis and include lots of different people with very different experiences. “ Only five? Really, you only need five? I’m not in the realms of self diagnosing but when you read something so familiar and relatable… it really hits home. I just… is this even fixable? I’m just… feeling really, really lost right now… I don’t quite know how to process anything…. Hate. I’m feeling a hell of a lot of overwhelming self-hatred all of a sudden; why do I have to make life so damn hard for myself? Why does all of the negative shit happen to me, I mean, really?? Have I not had enough crap happen to me over the years? Why does my personality and head have to suddenly be really god damn broken too? Ventilation

Every waking moment there's a part of me that wishes I were dead. If not at the fore then somewhere at the back of my mind..I cant seem to shake the feeling of wanting my existence to disintegrate into nothing as if it never was to begin with.

I long to experience what it is to be and feel confident for more than a few minutes at a time. What must it be like to genuinely feel like you can accomplish something even despite lingering doubt. To believe the lie long enough to get something done and continue believing even beyond that - focusing on the win and not the errors or imperfections.

What is it to believe from the depths of your soul the promises of God and his supposed Love for me. What must it be like to live as if I know I am fearfully and wonderfully made, like it's in my DNA and not a fairytale I'm trying to convince myself is the truth because it seems so...silly...so unnatural.

My gut tells me this is who I am and will be forever. Am I delusional to believe I'm destined for more or am I delusional for believing that mediocrity is the pinnacle of all my past and future endeavours?

Is it just plainly a mindset? A perspective that's perhaps solidified, like Medusa's victims?

Is it just that I was never wired for self-belief and others somehow were? Or is it just that I was never motivated enough to consistently strive without dropping the ball once to achieve whatever small whiff of purpose I might've thought I had discovered lurking beneath the deep waters of my miserable soul?

I know I'm not alone in my pit.

Google has led me to comments from around the globe of people who feel the exact same way, even down to the use of the same language to describe their thoughts and feelings.

So what do I do with this information? How do I help myself out of this hole? If I find a way, how do I help others out of their holes too? Jesus has told me through the Word that he is the way, the truth and the life, but for people like me who can't even concentrate for more than 5 minutes without feeling hopeless again, what good is sporadic prayer, piecemeal reading of scripture or inconsistent visits to group meetings? It all seems impossible, though God says nothing is impossible for Him (which I do believe and also through Him), but He relies on our faith in Him for Him to release abundant blessings and power and healing etc. in our lives. Who even knows what that looks like or at what point it would happen? Even then, would change even be worthwhile considering the value a positive, never-say-die-type person adds to life and the huge difference they have already made, what shoorie-type (non-firing firecracker) difference can sods like me truly make?

If I believe and apply my mind so much, also, where does that leave room for God to do anything? If I manage the effort of fighting my demons on my own and somehow mustering up some faith, why did I need to believe in God to save me? What would be the point of that?

It's all exhausting, how do we know anything is truly real? I mean I believe God is working in my life somewhere in the background, but it seems it doesn't mean anything because the brain is so amazing it can create biases and connect any dots together to confirm whatever theory you already believe to be true. You can look at life from any angle and convince yourself that your angle is the 'right' one or the only one.

If you choose that religion over one you were brought up in because the people who became your closest friends, the only people who understood you, the people you connected on the deepest level with happened to be committed to a different way of life. Or the role model who stepped into your life and showed you what it is to be unconditionally loved and to love others unconditionally in a way you never imagined possible...when at the other end the path you were born into was 'practiced' by the people in your life who disappointed you, the people who abused you or the people who abandoned you. How could you not choose the path you eventually do when those who mistreated you subscribed to the way you've given up on?

As long as you know there is something greater than you giving you life and taking care of you, what does it matter what we call it?

How can we truly know where we stand until we're on the other side? It's all a bit confusing, again though I digress.

All I am certain of is uncertainty and that to me is disconcerting and exhausting. Others can live in it or they live deeply believing their way and for the most part (whatever way that might be) usually it's their attitude, belief and faith in the positive and their commitment that determines their 'altitude' (cheese-ball-cringe-choke-on-a-hairball of positive-thinking marshmallows, please pass me some water there kanallah to wash down the itch).

Fudge-it, maybe I am just a lazy doos. I just want to sleep till I vrek, frankly. Everything in-between is just feels, untrustworthy, blerrie feels see-sawing between insanity and calm, giddy joy and crushing sadness, complete confidence and crippling anxiety, flipping between inner peace and seething...up and down, back and forth: I'm spent.

open, shut. open, shut. there goes another one. in & out , in & out. a couple more… I’m used to it now. it seems that every new person that comes into my life leaves so abruptly. None of this makes sense. None of this makes sense. but, is it me? is it me? the reason why people are quick to say “brb” but never find their way back to me… i mean, there was this saying & it goes kind Of like “when someone walks out your life, they are just making room for someone new” But i mean for real how fucked up is it that the new person doesn’t stay either. People come up with these quotes, These sayings… all to just make themselves feel better for the time being. But when is making myself feel better going to actually make me feel better. Y'all liked the way i started this right? 😂 Hella “one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.” Nah. Im tired of giving my all to people who don’t deserve it. I cant even blame them because at the same time they never said “give me All of you in exchange for me”…. i mean the exchange didn’t really happen. Im not just speaking on men, friendships too. Being a down ass person, people will still find ways to disrespect you. They will waste you time, stunt your growth. None of this makes sense. None of this makes sense. How can you grow with people who don’t want to grow with you? Listen, one of the hardest things i have ever had to learn was that not everyone has the same heart as me. Im not just talking about how I’m this hopeless romantic, who had her heart broken too many times but still has room to love. Im talking about never having someone doubt me being genuine. I treat people how they treat me but I’m always cool peoples from the get. People don’t last months anymore. People don’t last weeks anymore. People don’t last days anymore. in & out. in & out. None of this makes sense. I think God is trying to tell me something. Im so convinced this is all part of my growth. I think He knows how much value i put in people. You know like, “when i see potential I just got to see it through.” Im still learning that it’s probably not me. you know like “it has everything to do with them & nothing to do with me” So when people leave, I’m not supposed to be hurt. When people leave, I’m not supposed to feel like I did something wrong. When people leave, it means they were just temporary. I understand that on such a personal level that it’s... frightening. It goes over intense emotions, not having a strong sense of who you are, hard to keep stable relationships, act impulsively, engage in self harming behavior and suicidal thoughts, feelempty and lonely a lot of the time, get angry and struggle to control it, feel paranoid, have psychotic experiences such as seeing or hearing things, feeling numb or checked out. ... I can say yes to at least 90% of that, if not all of them. It then goes on to say : “ Because you only need to experience five of these possible symptoms to be given the diagnosis, BPD can be a very broad diagnosis and include lots of different people with very different experiences. “ Only five? Really, you only need five? I’m not in the realms of self diagnosing but when you read something so familiar and relatable... it really hits home. I just... is this even fixable? I’m just... feeling really, really lost right now... I don’t quite know how to process anything.... Hate. I’m feeling a hell of a lot of overwhelming self-hatred all of a sudden; why do I have to make life so damn hard for myself? Why does all of the negative shit happen to me, I mean, really?? Have I not had enough crap happen to me over the years? Why does my personality and head have to suddenly be really god damn broken too? I don’t... think I have the energy to read any more...
