The house gradually came into view, appearing in grayish-blue flashes through the trees which eventually opened up to a wider drive leading up to the house proper. It sat, smallish and square, cedar shake siding discolored and clearly in need of some repair.  Ethan pulled right up to the porch, gravel crunching under the sedan’s tires, and parked.
