okay so

bitches back in the BC era needed to compute areas and volumes and stuff like that. thing is, they didn't have the mathematical language to do so. they knew things they could prove irl.

so, they came up with a "formula" for the perimeter and area of a circle. C=3d and S= C^2 /12

look at that, history's first π <3 it's 3, yes

but don't worry, some centuries later the Greeks will fix it and— oh. oh. so a religious text described the dimensions of a temple. okay. and also an important metalic circular recipient. and the mesures given give us? okay. π=3 now? because. because God said so. huh. deus dixit i guess

centuries later, Very Religious Mathematician Stumbles Onto π=3. he knows of course that π=22/7. but??? does that mean that god was.... mistaken?????

ok so yesterday i wayched the fearless vampire killers aka the movie that hit european musical tanz der vampire is based off. and i liked it veyr mych it was very camp and very true to the jusical (we're ignoreing that the musical came out like 3 decaeds after) and also it ws suprisingly gay for being made in 1967. like the musical made surprisingly few changes w/ herberts character in making him more explicitly gay + also thre wenn liebe in dir ist scene. but one large-ish chanfe that the musical seems to have made (defo for the better btw) is they gave sarah's character soooo muich more agency. like. in the movie, she's kinda juist being dragged along the whole time, krolock literally kidnaps her out of the bath (granted she seems mostly fine with it, but still) whereas in the muscial he simply invites her to join him at his castle, and she runs away all by herself because she actually wants to. she wants to be a vampire with him, and i think that is ovewrall a very good chanfge that they made

hi!! snoopy infodump ahead :D disclaimer i am just me and did not grow up on peanuts either :( also my dates are either super right or astronomically wrong. sorry

so. 50s snoopy is a small guy. he does dog things. he walks around on his 4 lil dog legs and boops people with his cold nose (source: aug 01 1954 peanuts comic strip)!! notice in the strip he has speech bubbles. that is a weird quirk from earlier strips :D he thinks w thought bubbles in later strips (maybe 1956 ish onwards!)

then there was a Bright Idea aka snoopy character development. you know how snoopy’s known for being the WW1 Flying Ace or like. world famous author who has a typewriter. or whatever. this is hypothetically all in his imagination BUT SHH we don’t talk about that. well this started around 1960. ish. around that era. and he developed a vivid inner world sort of thing where he, i guess, indulged in behaviour that is not dog. he and lucy bully each other i guess (/hj
