Rey's life began in the most bizarre way. Born to a nest of vampires that they never knew, everything started with blood. With her entire family gone, Rey found herself alone, crying out as a baby of merely three months. But then, hope arrived in the form of two men. One human, one vampire, both hunters. Who would have expected that when Ben cradled them in his arms, a bond would be formed that was so strong, it created a family immediately. Giving her the name Freya, the two men instantly fell in love with the baby and decided that they would raise the young vampire as their own, guiding them in a life which they hoped would be free of pain or suffering. Rey had seen enough in such a short time already.

Guided in the ways of hunting by Ben, and how to succeed as a vampire without taking unnecessary life by Elijah, Rey grew into a smart and resilient teenager, and readily followed their dads in the ways of hunting.
