Tbh I felt it was a little ooc for Magnus to hug Frey at the end of SoS and while Idon't care enough to press the issue, I would have liked to see a better characterized interaction between them.

i'm not sure if i necessarily agree with you anon. For beginning of sos, yes perhaps, Magnus is angry but we can see he has a strong connection with his family, for instance despite not seeing Annabeth since they were small children, he still cares to tell her everything that's going on. His first mention of his father is that he doesn't give a shit that he's not there. A major theme in sos is letting go of grudges which I will elaborate when I get round to answering another ask but it's really important to Magnus' character that he doesn't feel bitter towards Frey

Magnus talks about going camping with his mother and whatnot and her telling him his father is with them when they're outdoors is so funny to me because:

1. Magnus is never shown to question it at all (I know he loves his mom and trusts her a lot but. Still. I'd at least expect some ??? reaction)

2. It would be hilarious if Frey had actually been joining them on trips and Magnus just never questioned their relationship to this man and at some point possibly even forgot his existence until meeting Frey in the dreamscape, at which point he immediately made several connections and was just kinda like 🧍🏼

im not sure which i like more but yeah also natalie is meant to be down to earth so that would be a really weird metaphor

magnus' parents aren't together and frey lives in sweden as a farmer and natalie is alive

magnus visits frey, gerd and fjolnir every summer

he gets pressured by his mom to be more social so he volunteers at the local library, run by hearthstone and blitzen to open a book club

its populated by hall 19 and also samirah

then alex starts attending and magnus is crushing hard but doesn't know it

he recs her all his favourite books and even shows her his annotated copies

alex has to make the first move

it all works out :)

gerd is actually the best at skipping stones

also she was the one who instigated the relationship with natalie

gerd is the one who likes physical touch the most so sometimes frey and natalie would sleep on top of her

shes also the tallest

natalie used to bring her old poetry books from her parents house and show her favourite parts to her gf and bf

frey is the person who can a) cook and b) make responsible decisions about clothing on hikes since gerd wears too much and natalie wears too little

Loki: have to obey him

Frey: seasonal depression, probably

Frigg: dying violently due to Loki's manipulation despite Frigg's efforts

yeah like on one hand being the child of a norse god seems way worse than being the child of the greek or roman gods (on the other hand no monsters so)
